Chapter 143 - Cruel
"Sir, there is a way of turning around ahead. Would you like to pick up Madame?" Abdi asked. He was really worried about Anya. His boss' wife was left in the middle of the road alone. What if something happened to her?
"No." Aiden said.
"But, sir..."
"We will not pick her up. Don't make me repeat my orders a second time." Aiden said coldly. His limit of patience was up.
…
Anya walked while thinking about all her mistakes.
It was true that today she was guilty of visiting Raka.
And everything Raka said… Anya knew that man intended to help her because he knew the story behind Anya and Aiden's marriage. Raka deliberately made Aiden feel angry, cornered him so that he would divorce Anya and return her freedom.
Anya could see the intention behind Raka's actions. Couldn't Aiden see it?
Indeed, she had no right to do anything in this marriage. Aiden had done it all for her, but she couldn't do anything to help Aiden. She could only wait when Aiden didn't want her anymore and just threw her away.
When that day came, Anya would disappear from Aiden's life. She would go as far as possible so as not to trouble Aiden and not involve Raka in a complicated relationship.
Anya bought a bottle of drinking water near the bus stop and started walking again.
She was willing to accept this punishment because the incident today was her fault. She would show Aiden that she regretted what she did. When she came home, Aiden would forgive her and their relationship would be back just like before.
Aiden did reject Abdi's suggestion to pick up Anya, but he told Abdi to turn around and follow Anya from behind secretly. Aiden wanted to know if Anya really regretted what she had done.
Anya went back to walking under the sun. Sweat flooded her body, dripping down the wound on her knee, making her leg sting.
She stopped to take shelter for a moment under a tree, using the water she bought to wash the wound on her leg so it wouldn't hurt too much. Then, she walked again.
Abdi could not help feeling worried, "Sir, it looks like madam is injured."
After staying for a while at Aiden's house, all the house employees, from the servant to the gardener, to Abdi as the driver, became closer to Anya. Anya always greeted them politely, never ordering them without asking first. Occasionally, Anya would even share her homemade dishes with them.
They all had a good relationship with Anya. They all loved their Madam.
Now, seeing Anya suffering half to death like this, Abdi forgot his fear and begged for Anya.
However, Aiden pretended not to hear Abdi's plea and gave Anya a cold stare.
Anya walked slowly and slowly. The wound on her knee felt even worse. She felt hot in the sun and her clothes were soaked with sweat. Maybe the wound was infected with sweat that kept on dripping.
Her head felt dizzy in the hot sun and her body felt heavy. She still had a long way to go to get home.
As she walked, she thought of her husband. Aiden was really mad at her. At first, she thought Aiden would wait for her halfway, or send someone to pick her up. However, after walking quite a distance, Anya realized that it was just a dream.
She did not see Aiden's car at all.
"Aiden is really cruel. He said he believed in me, but he was still angry and jealous." Anya felt so tired that she could only vent her anger on Aiden even though she didn't dare to criticize Aiden in front of him directly.
Her annoyance kept her going.
However, her strength was also running out. She slumped slightly and stumbled until she fell to the ground. She landed in the grass looking pitiful, while the sun seemed to make fun of her and continued to shine on her.
She tried to get to her feet, but her legs felt like jelly. Her legs were shaking so she sat back down on the ground.
"Is there anyone? Please help me." Anya shouted helplessly.
The street was quiet enough that people rarely passed it. Anya could only sit there in silence, not trying to get up and not trying to ask for help. Tears rolled down the corners of her eyes.
Finally, Aiden got out of the car and approached Anya. From afar, he could see Anya sitting on the ground unable to do anything.
Her shoulders were trembling slightly, indicating that the woman was trying hard to hold back her tears.
Aiden's footsteps stopped when he saw her. He clenched his fists tightly, hearing Anya's sad cries. Was he being too mean to Anya?
He only wanted to punish Anya, but seeing her hurt and crying like this, his heart also ached. Then what should he do?
Aiden sighed and walked over to her.
He stood in front of Anya and looked at her coldly, "What's the use of crying? Can crying solve your problem "
Anya looked up, saw a figure standing in front of her, illuminated by the hot sun that blinded her eyes.
Aiden's body shifted slightly to cover the sunshine so that Anya didn't overheat.
"Why did you come back?" Anya wiped her tears and tried to get up again. But her leg was too painful to move.
Abdi rushed over from behind in panic, "Madame, can you stand up? Should I call an ambulance?"
"No need. I'm fine." Anya stretched out her hand to Aiden, asking her husband's help to get up, but Aiden stayed silent.
Abdi felt that he could not bear to leave Anya alone so he immediately stepped forward, "Let me help you, Madame." But before he could do so, Aiden raised his hand to stop Abdi. He lowered his head and helped Anya to stand up. Then, he took Anya's body and walked cautiously.
Abdi continued to accompany him, afraid that Aiden would fall because he could not see.
Anya could only look at Aiden expectantly and didn't say anything.
"I-… My clothes are dirty. Just put me down, let me walk alone." Anya said in a low voice.
"Shut up. Otherwise I'll knock you to the ground." Aiden replied coldly.
Anya immediately closed her mouth. Her eyes flickered to get rid of the tears that were still pooling.
"Aiden, when I said that you were the only one in my heart, I wasn't lying. I mean it." Anya said in a low voice.
"I know." Aiden answered quietly.
"That wound… It's all because of me. I feel guilty and responsible…"
"Being too kind will actually hurt you. I already told you that your flabby nature will only drag you to hell. Do you think about how I felt when Natali took me to Raka's room and found you sleeping in another man's hug?" Aiden's eyes looked cold as he looked at Anya in his arms.
Anya swallowed her saliva and whispered, "You must really want to kill me and Raka at that time."
"But I didn't, because I knew you were framed. That person wanted me to misunderstand you, thinking that you betrayed me. But what makes me sicker is your attention to Raka. I am very angry. I'm angry because you care too much for Raka and it hurts my heart!" Aiden exclaimed.
