"Miss Xia, there’s something you don’t know. The Young Master is different from ordinary people. He doesn’t get sick often, but when he does, it becomes uncontrollable. It was my negligence not to take good care of the Young Master yesterday." Ye Feng’s concerns surged again. He had thought that the Young Master would recover after seeing Xia Qingqian, but unexpectedly, it only got worse...

"What about now? Will he feel better after the fever-reducing injection?" Xia Qingqian asked, frowning.

"It’s hard to say, Miss Xia. The task of taking care of the Young Master is now up to you." Ye Feng closed the medicine box and held it in his hand.

"Okay, if anything happens, I’ll call you." Xia Qingqian nodded.

Ye Feng responded with a nod and left with his belongings.

Xia Qingqian pulled up a chair and sat by his bedside. Every so often, she would frequently change the ice pack for him and wipe his body.

It was as if she was taking care of her most beloved possession.

When he woke up in a daze, she happened to be holding a bowl of freshly made millet porridge, helping him sit up. She managed to feed him half a bowl before he vomited it all over her.

She frowned slightly, not because she disliked the mess he made, but because she felt sorry for him.

He must be in a lot of pain being sick, right? Seeing him suffering so much because of his illness, her heart was in chaos.

The things he vomited also dirtied the blanket. She changed a new one for him, wiped his face clean, and helped him settle back to sleep. Only after watching him drift off did she go to change out of her soiled clothes.

She washed the dirty blanket and the clothes he had changed out of, hanging them out to dry on the balcony.

Since she had to take care of Beitang Yao, she didn’t have much appetite herself, so she ate a few bites quickly and returned to his room to look after him.

She thought he must have caught a cold; otherwise, he wouldn’t be vomiting.

She asked Sister Huan to go to the market to buy some mint leaves. She knew someone like him wouldn’t eat such things, but when she was young and had a fever, her dad wasn’t home. It was a grandma from the neighborhood who went to the market to buy mint leaves, made some millet porridge, and she drank two large bowls. After sleeping for a while, she got better.

In the middle of the night, Beitang Yao tossed and turned, waking up. When he opened his eyes, he saw Xia Qingqian sitting on a chair, her head tilted to the side, nodding occasionally, only to quickly lift her head again, repeating this motion.

Beitang Yao watched her in the dim light from the bedside lamp, his heart trembling slightly, a touch of heartache and gratitude slowly rising in his eyes.

Why didn’t she go to bed if she was so tired?

Suddenly, Xia Qingqian nodded off, waking herself up. Her first reaction upon opening her eyes was to look at the bed. Seeing Beitang Yao already awake, she breathed a sigh of relief, stood up, and reached out to touch his forehead, asking, "Yao, are you feeling any better? Is there anywhere you still feel uncomfortable? Are you hungry? I’ll go heat up some porridge..."

Beitang Yao’s eyes warmed, but he hid his emotions well, saying nothing as he reached out to hold her hand, bringing it to his lips for a gentle kiss.

This small gesture left Xia Qingqian momentarily stunned! She stared at him, her face slightly flushed, and asked, "Yao, are you sure you’re not feeling well? Tell me, and I’ll go get Ye Feng!"

With that, she was about to get up to find Ye Feng, but unexpectedly he held tightly onto her wrist, not giving her the chance to leave. Shaking his head, he said in a hoarse voice, "With you here, I’ll be fine."
