Chapter 351: I Can’t With Slime Tamers Right Now

He kicked the giant squarely in the chest, sending him stumbling backward.

The driver lunged forward, slashing the hooked blade at Lancet’s exposed side. Lancet caught his wrist, and for a tense moment, they struggled for leverage.

Then the Slime Tamer opened his free hand. The massive blue palm stretched across the gap and slapped Lancet brutally across the face, snapping his head sideways.

Taking advantage of the distraction, the driver ripped his wrist free. Lancet barely got his arm up before the hooked blade cut viciously across it.

The green symbols flared with toxic magic, effortlessly cracking his defensive Grace. The blade sliced through his sleeve, leaving a thin, burning line of blood beneath the fabric.

Lancet stepped back to regroup, but the Slime Tamer gave him no quarter. Two more tentacles shot forward. Lancet jumped over the first, but the second changed direction mid-air, wrapping securely around his thigh to drag him forward once again.

Lancet fired another desperate burst of lightning. The slime absorbed part of the blast, stretched effortlessly around the rest of the current, and kept moving.

Frustrated, Lancet changed tactics. Grace rushed hot through his body. He drove both feet into the cracked road and pulled violently against the tentacle, forcing the Tamer toward him instead.

The man stumbled forward, completely off-balance. Lancet surged ahead and punched him directly in the face. The slime around the man’s head simply deformed around Lancet’s fist, flattening his cheek completely before springing right back into its original shape.

Lancet stared at him in disbelief, and the Tamer just smiled confidently.

"What the hell?"

Lancet hit him again, but the exact same thing happened. Gritting his teeth, Lancet hit him a third time, putting raw lightning behind the heavy blow.

The entire blue head rippled with the impact. The man staggered two steps back, shook his head, and straightened up as if nothing had happened.

Lancet exhaled a frustrated breath through his nose. ’That’s why I can’t with Slime Tamers right now. Even with their low ranks, they’re so annoying with their powers.’

The giant rushed him from the blind side, but Lancet was ready. He caught the descending flaming baton with both hands wrapped securely around the giant’s thick wrist, redirecting the crushing momentum straight into the ground.

The stone street cracked beneath the impact, spreading a pool of fire across the asphalt. Stepping smoothly inside the man’s reach, Lancet drove three fast, punishing punches into his ribs.

The giant grunted in pain. Lancet hooked his leg behind the man’s knee and threw him over his hip, slamming him hard onto the road.

Lancet turned immediately toward the driver just as the hooked blade came swiping at his neck. Leaning back, the lethal edge missed his throat by mere inches.

Lancet caught the driver’s extended arm, twisted quickly underneath it, and drove his shoulder like a battering ram into the man’s chest.

The driver stumbled backward, gasping for air. Lancet released him and swiftly kicked the glowing blade from his hand, sending it spinning uselessly across the empty street. Lancet raised his hand, Grace gathering for a finishing blow, and the driver’s eyes widened in terror.

Then something cold and wet slammed with the force of a truck into Lancet’s back.

The Slime Tamer’s entire arm had stretched across the width of the street. The heavy hit sent Lancet stumbling forward, and before he could recover his balance, another tentacle wrapped suffocatingly tight around his waist.

Then another took his right arm. A third caught his leg.

Lancet pulled frantically against the bindings, but the slime merely stretched, refusing to break. The Tamer planted himself farther back, spreading his lower gelatinous limbs across the street to turn his entire body into an immovable anchor.

Lancet tried to step forward, but the tentacles tightened mercilessly. He forced pure Grace into his straining muscles and pulled harder.

The Tamer slid half a foot across the asphalt, then stopped entirely. Lancet’s Ring flashed, and lightning burst violently over his entire body.

The tentacles shook from the voltage, but the slime only thickened around him, swallowing the bulk of the electricity deep into its dense mass. Lancet gritted his teeth, his struggling becoming sluggish.

The giant pushed himself groggily off the ground, rubbing his ribs, while the driver rushed to retrieve his fallen blade. Both men started walking menacingly toward the trapped Summoner.

The Tamer laughed victoriously from behind them. "Got him."

Lancet pulled again, but the slime around his arm simply stretched with his movement before violently snapping him back into place.

The giant reached him first, his greedy eyes locking onto the thick invitation still partly visible inside Lancet’s pocket.

"There it is." Lancet twisted his body desperately away, but the tentacles tightened their crushing grip. The driver stepped around to his other side. "Hold him still."

"I am holding him still," the Tamer scoffed.

The giant reached a meaty hand toward Lancet’s pants. Lancet tried to drive a knee into the man’s groin, but a final slime limb whipped out and wrapped securely around his other leg.

Now both feet were entirely trapped. Lancet’s jaw tightened.

He had one charge left. He could easily burn through this trap if he had Solaris’s Phoenixfire, but she hadn’t gotten up to ten kills or any kills at all in order to charge the Phantom Ring.

His second option was Spectra’s Gloomfire.

It would tear through the volatile slime far more effectively than even Solaris’s since it was more about corruption and destruction.

Lancet felt the pulse of the Phantom Ring waiting eagerly for his command to use the last charge and activate the Gloomfire Skill. But the tactical thought lasted less than a second.

’Fuck no. Gloomfire can burn through this slime but I don’t wanna use Gloom.’ His eyes narrowed. ’So I’ll just call her.’

Lancet abruptly stopped struggling. The giant’s hand finally touched his pants while the other started to dig into his pockets.

But right then, hot red smoke exploded behind the thugs. Both men spun around in shock as crimson flame burst through the smoke in a circle, forcing them to stumble back as a wave of evil heat rolled across the street.

Even the Slime Tamer’s iron grip loosened for the very first time as terror gripped him.

There was a woman.

She stepped gracefully through the raging fire. Her long, white hair spilled wildly behind her as if the furious flames themselves had thrown it into the air.

Thick red smoke curled intimately around her shoulders, while a suffocating aura of Gloom pressed aggressively outward from her body, tightening the very space around everyone standing there.

The giant froze completely in his tracks. The driver stopped breathing for a terrified second. Even the Slime Tamer’s arrogant grin disappeared entirely.

Spectra looked slowly between the three trembling men, her eyes burning with lethal intent. Then, she smiled.

"Hello boys."
