Hero Of Darkness

Chapter 1311: The Headquarters

  • Next Chapter

As soon as the entourage of the united empires entered the main commanding hall... Jugram quickly made his presence known and declared in a stoically confident voice...

"I am here to take command."

His words resounded in the large hall as war tables set with holographic projections, filled with geographical designs of the battlefront, came into sight.

The room had a total of 8 individuals; all of them were saints and represented four empires, in pairs of two.

These were the commanders of empires, leading their respective empires in Vale Sangaris. And now, Jugram suddenly presented himself as if a superior had finally come to take charge of his junior officers at a command post.

"You are relieved of your duty." said Jugram as he walked steadily.

Behind him was a group of entourage that also consisted of another veiled entity in a black cloak.

"What? You think just two of your empires are enough when four of our empires have been holding the front here for all this time?" asked one of the saints, belonging to the feathered birdkins.

Obviously, since they held a grudge against the entourage... they were not going to hand over the command peacefully.

"You will only get in the way. So take a vacation along with all of your active combatants.

We do not trust you enough not to attack us instead when we are fighting the Demon Empire’s forces." spoke Jugram firmly.

His reasoning was also sound because how could you fight an enemy afar when there was a danger of being backstabbed by your own allies?

"You dare act like you have some authority above all of us?" said a saint with the head of an elk, belonging to the Beast Empire.

And as if having a mutual agreement amongst themselves...

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

Soon, all of them revealed their saint auras and collectively directed them at Jugram, the leader of the entourage.

Dozens of seconds passed, but instead of falling on the floor and kneeling like a beggar... Jugram remained unaffected, like a mountain against a mild breeze.

"Are you done with your childish shenanigans?" asked Jugram, and the very next second...

BOOM!!

His own aura erupted, targeting all 6 of them. But this time, there was quite a reaction.

Tremble!

Rumble!

The leaden and oppressive aura of the Vajrayaksha spread in the hall, filled with bloodlust and malice, and instantly shook their bodies.

Soon, none of them could move a muscle, as if they were submerged in the deepest levels of the sea.

"Do not carelessly release your auras just because we’re within the formations of this fortress.

At this moment, you have thousands of people from your respective empires standing within the confines of this headquarters.

You have hundreds of times more lives to lose than we do." iterated Jugram in a domineering voice and lessened his aura.

"You... you’re clearly not a 7th-stage saint. But why is your aura on the same level?" asked one of the saints.

"It is simply the difference between a dog and a wolf. They stand on a different level of strength." said Jugram coldly.

Their faces constricted at the blatant disrespect. Most wanted to refute, but they couldn’t.

Because their collective strength failed to even pressure Jugram in the slightest, while his counterattack rendered them immobile.

"Also... I am the first of my comrades. Two more shall arrive soon," he elaborated.

Yes, Kahn had appointed 3 of his subordinates to hold each front. Jugram was the first to arrive among the other two.

The ones who would soon join him would be a far greater threat as a trio than all these saints present.

"Know this... your empires still do not take the Great War seriously. That is why only 4 among you are 6th-stage saints. Sending such a meager amount of disposable saints...

On our side..." said Jugram and looked behind him.

BOOM!!

Another aura erupted, and it instantly brought them to their knees.

"We have already brought a 7th-stage saint." declared Jugram proudly.

The veiled figure behind him removed his cloak, and a shiny but also fleshly being, clad in a dark leathery coat, revealed himself.

"This is lord Fabian Valkor, of the Abyss Empire." introduced Jugram with a sly grin.

Fabian Valkor was one of the two 7th-stage saints from the Senate of the Republic. He too was an intermediate 7th-stage saint.

He was a member of a species called Cerrakx. His appearance was peculiar, as he had a head of an amygdala where dozens of eyes and fleshy protrusions similar to a beard struck the onlookers.

Notably, he had no visible orifice to be considered a mouth and had 6 pointy arms, mostly hardened bones, and his legs resembled those of a strider.

This individual was a straight-up incarnation of those horrifying monsters from the H. P. Lovecraft books.

Yet his person was now serving under Kahn as his leader and even accompanied Jugram as an adjutant, despite his seniority and rank.

"Listen up, servants of the abhorrent empires that cowardly attacked our home all those centuries ago..." his harrowing and dreadful voice echoed.

"I am being very lenient by not eradicating you and all of your kin at the moment. Our Supreme Commander has asked us to contain our rage and not make you pay for your ancestors’ sins.

Yet my leniency runs thin. So pack your bags and leave this front to us as previously agreed by your leaders." he spoke in a commanding tone.

"The Abyss Empire and the Rakos Empire shall assume their positions and defend this battlefront. And we shall do so diligently, unlike your homes that have barely held onto the previously claimed garrisons.

Go home and tell your elders to come and talk with us... after they have resolved themselves to die for a greater cause instead of wasting years upon needless bloodshed." he said sternly and gazed at the kneeling saints in disdain.

"Your empires have achieved nothing so far. So we shall claim the entire front for ourselves and lead the charge." spoke Fabian.

Despite having no mouth, his voice resounded in the area. This was no telepathic communication either, as inadvertently, some of these saints tried to look for his mouth.

Yet as his aura hardened, they understood their place in the new power paradigm.

"But... but... We are not allowed to leave. We will be treated as traitors or face mockery for running away from the battlefront.

We were solely tasked with these responsibilities because we were the best choice." responded one of the six saints, an elven saint.

"How do you expect us to go back just because you people have more strength?" asked a bearkin among the commanders.

Fabian then spoke with a bored countenance...

"Then let us do one thing. You all take the backseat and share key information about everything we need to know about this battlefront.

Then you and your armies shall remain behind the fortresses to support as a backup while we take the vanguard.

If we fail and die... that is our fate." spoke Fabian grimly.

They all looked at each other and nodded.

Fabian retracted his aura, and all of them stood up. There were no indications of further resistance as they explained everything to Jugram and Fabian in detail.

10 Days Later... the remaining forces arrived.

And the ones to lead them were none other than...

Ronin and Tobias.
