Chapter 1214: The Last Arrival
Chapter 1214: The Last Arrival
The moment remained still as everyone made up their minds. What was presented beforehand was already enough to rile them up, but after Kahn’s beckoning, the final seal had been stamped. The entirety of the Abyss Empire was ready to follow Kahn with their lives on the line.
Meanwhile, all the top figures from the 3 factions had their own reaction.
For the Cult of Darkborne, Kahn was no longer just the representative of the God of Darkness; he had already become a being who deserved to be worshipped separately by them.
As the Hero of Darkness, he was the supposed leader in name and position already. But after displaying his true capabilities over and over again to the point their own sense of expectations was shattered by the overwhelming strength of their Cult Leader.
Kahn Salvatore was already a powerhouse, against whom none of the strategies or experiences worked. This man could kill millions with his will alone without lifting a finger.
And he was both unmatched and unstoppable, even by those who achieved a rank higher than him.
If they took out both Jeoseung Saja and Vildred out of the equation... There was not a single person within any of the 3 factions who could match Kahn in terms of strength and authority at this point.
For the Imperial Faction... Not a single thing went about as per their previous expectations or their backup plans in case the Hero of Darkness were to become an eyesore in their power dynamic.
No one expected the Hero of Darkness, who arrived merely 6 years ago, to already be a 7th-stage saint. At best, they expected Kahn to be a 3rd-stage saint since he neither had the resources nor the protection of the Abyss Empire or the Cult of Darkborne.
But what was expected to be an underdog turned out to be a tyrannical dragon that they couldn’t even dare to face off against unless they wanted to be turned into ash right where they stood.
And after watching Kahn’s Cosmic Form and what he could do with his real strength... none of them even had the will to fight or challenge his authority, unlike their previous agreement.
They had turned into just tools, bound by their positions and powerless despite their influence in the power dynamic of the Abyss Empire.
Worst part... if they did not heed Kahn, that alone would be enough reason for their own competitors to use against them in the succession war for the position of the next Emperor.
Despite their strength and deep roots... they were simply incapable of refusing his reign.
It was even worse for the officials from the Senate of the Republic.
Because although they were mostly elected officials, they originated from rich backgrounds, and even those who were once normal people had now formed a cabal of elites amongst themselves.
But what made them even more helpless was that they were not some powerful saints. Even the President and the Vice-President were only 4th and 3rd stage saints, respectively.
Many members of the senate were not even a Semi-Saint. Just that they were voted and chosen to be there, whether honest elections or illegal setups.
They could not even dispatch the military to fight against the Cult of Darkborne, let alone Kahn, without having the voting procedures and public hearings first, as per the rules.
One after another, Kahn basically dismantled their authority with his pure and raw power. And the worst part... he did it in front of the entire Abyss Empire.

Finally, the welcoming ceremony was concluded, and many people finally had a moment of respite.
This was too much of a spectacle for them to absorb and ingrain in their minds. Even the Cult of Darkborne won’t be exempt from this phenomenon.
Rumble!!
But just when everyone thought that the mindboggling surprises were finished... a new character made his entrance in this play.
"What do you think, citizens of the Abyss Empire? Is the new Hero of Darkness up to your liking?"
A thunderous voice resonated across the empire through the broadcasts.
Shing!
Shing!
All the citizens within the capital Naraka started trembling from an incomprehensibly dreary aura as their survival instinct shot through the roof.
Morrigan and all the Chapter Masters quickly turned their gaze to the sky as a spherical platform, spanning 10 kilometers in circumference, suddenly appeared in the sky, consisting of a black portion flowing clockwise with respect to a white portion like two different rivers colliding and trying to engulf each other like fishes.
This black and white platform resembled the Yin and Yang circle, and at the centre, a silver-haired vampire, clad in black and green armor, made his entrance.
"If so... then I too, have my full support towards the new Hero of Darkness." declared this 9th-stage saint.
Similar to how everyone bowed in front of Jeoseung Saja, the Envoy of Death... people showed no delay in quickly getting on their knees.
Thud!
Thud!
Because unlike Kahn, Vildred, and the Envoy... everyone present in the current Abyss Empire had heard and seen the powerhouse who made this sudden entrance.
As per Morrigan, Kahn learned that when the previous Emperor started a civil war against the Cult of Darkborne and the Senate... it was this powerful being who had appeared during that war and stopped billions of lives from being ruined just because the previous emperor wanted to bring the entire Abyss Empire under his monarchy.
Even though the Cult of Darkborne and the Senate had joined hands back then... the loss of life was calculated to be more than 300 million from all the factions combined in just 2 years.
They could prolong the war and eventually win it... But the people dying on all 3 sides would only get multiplied by two to three times.
And the devastation it would cause could have been catastrophic. A loss that could set back their entire civilization for at least a hundred years if it continued for a few more years.
However, it was right in the middle period of that civil war... this person showed up and stopped it with his overwhelming might.
His actions hadn’t just stopped the war... but it saved all of their lives and the future of the Abyss Empire.
Fluter!
Flutter!
The cape behind the armor worn by Argos Belmont, the Revenant Sovereign, fluttered as silence ensued across the empire.
From this day forward, this person became their savior and protector.
As everyone showed their respects, the High Priestess of the Cult of Darkborne shouted with all her might...
"All hail the Great Guardian!!"
