Chapter 1174: Revealing True Might
Chapter 1174: Revealing True Might
The Rainbow Serpent was chosen to guard this place for a reason, it seemed.
Even if ten 8th-stage saints, each possessing a different element of nature, attacked it... they would still be unable to kill it.
Not only did it have full resistance against all natural elements of reality, but it could also subvert his Space Law. There was also Morrigan’s powers that caused Corruption.
But the biggest difference should have been made by Argos, the revenant sovereign, despite his unparalleled strength among those present at the scene; he still failed to kill the Rainbow Serpent.
They see that their most powerful and even unified attacks couldn’t kill the mythical beast.
"How about we all use our domains?" asked Kahn.
A moment later...
"I can’t. My domain will garner too much attraction even within the sealed barrier. It’s something that will basically twist the laws of the world to a degree that a godbeast will definitely notice it in mere minutes." explained the vampire king.
"Alright, let’s do it this way..." spoke Kahn as a plan hatched in his mind.
Kahn then telepathically shared his plan with everyone, and they decided to act on it immediately.
BOOM!!
Kahn let out his insurmountable aura of pure darkness, activating his Dimensional Domain.
The 45-kilometer-wide pitch-black dome now covered both sky and the ground, cutting off all outside sources of light.
Glimmer!
The Rainbow Serpent quickly summoned orbs of light, making the battlefield visible again as it was cautious of Kahn’s powers.
"Dimensional Domain, First Form: Commandement of the King!" exclaimed Kahn with a sly smile.
Soon, not only did the rainbow serpent feel that half of its physical and magical prowess was restricted, but it also suddenly couldn’t feel its connection with the world energy.
The first form of his domain allowed Kahn to gain full control over all world energy and also control the elements he had a strong affinity with within his domain. This property was extremely useful against single opponents in particular, so he did not delay using this unfathomable power.
Although it is useless in inflicting direct attacks, it worked more like a passive buff to himself and the elemental skills he can conjure... the point here was to steal away or sever the Rainbow Serpent’s control over the world energy to the point it would eventually lose control over the surrounding environment.
Now, the Rainbow Serpent had to rely on its own world energy reserves to use its abilities from here on.
"Domain of Corruption, First Form: Pestilence & Decay!" exclaimed Morrigan and revealed her own domain.
Similar to the first time, her domain expanded her corruption field by tenfold within a 30-kilometer radius.
What made the first form of her domain was the now the battlefield had now turned into a vast swamp of poison and rot.
In mere seconds, the entire landscape, the mountains, and the treelines were rotten, corroding, and dissolving within the marshlands of poison and rot.
The Rainbow Serpent’s powers were instinctively repairing the nature within this area, conflicting and opposing the change in the environment as if the mythical beast abhorred being tainted by pestilence.
Kahn, on the other side, wasn’t attacking because he too had a role to fulfil. And that was to be the supporting character in this strategy.
Since Kahn was impeding Rainbow Serpent’s control over the environment, it could no longer completely absorb the corrosion and rot on the battlefield or even stop it from spreading.
Its powers barely managed to keep the surrounding 10-kilometer radius at bay.
Looking at the scenario, Kahn let out a devilish smirk.
[It’s just as I assumed. The Rainbow Serpent can’t actually control its powers. They are active all the time, even if it doesn’t want to use them.
Being the world energy magnet, it can’t help but passively absorb them and act as a medium to let them pass through its body.
Since I’ve stopped its access to outside sources, it’s now relying on its own body to do the job.] thought Kahn.
Rathnaar then chimed in and spoke...
[However, it will take hours even at this pace.] said the former peak saint.
[Yeah, that’s why we have a heavy hitter in our midst.] responded Kahn with a sly tone.
It was right then...
BOOM!!
A few kilometers away, a massive burst of aura shot forth, reaching the top of the domain.
The blue aura finally settled, and a ginormous being revealed its presence.
ROAAAAARRRRR!!!
The surrounding 30-kilometer radius shook, many peaks and even the marshland were being pulverized as a terrifying existence of nature revealed its true form.
Thud!
Flap!
6 massive wings, each being 1 kilometer in width on their own, came out of the dungeon boss’ back.
4 ginormous black horns. Incredibly sharp claws and hind legs as big as a mountain.
A 3-kilometer-long tail, and a maw full of shining, sharp teeth that could chomp on the hardest metals in the world easily.
And finally... an entire body made of black, golden, and blue scales that was akin to an Ancient Rank armor in itself.
ROAARRRR!!
The 7 kilometers tall being roared and left Rainbow Serpent, Morrigan Morningstar, and Argos Belomont flabbergasted as their eyes widened in disbelief.
"I thought he was just a strong dragon... but that’s actually a Royal Dragon.
Given the lightning element... is he the former dragon emperor that went missing over a thousand years ago?" asked Argos to himself, totally bewildered.
Because his knowledge of the Dragon Empire was just as superficial as the rest of the world, since they didn’t mingle with others or even have trade treaties.
Also, someone would need to be at least a 7th-stage saint to dare and infiltrate their borders. So the accurate information about their top hierarchy was mostly unknown.
However, Royal Dragons had their existence etched into the annals of history. And among them, there was only one royal dragon with the lightning element.
Only now did Argos figure out that the previous dragon emperor who disappeared long ago was none other than Vildred himself.
Crackle!
The sky was filled with dark clouds, and the rain started pouring, causing thunderstorms in a dozen seconds.
The rainbow serpent at its full height was 3 kilometers tall when it raised its head and 18 kilometers long. However, even on his 4 legs, Vildred was already matching that height without even widening his wings.
Everything around them appeared so small while Kahn, Argos, and Morrigan seemed no different than black dots on white paper.
The last time Kahn and Rathnaar saw Vildred in his true dragon form was when they left the Immortal Dungeon in the Zivot Empire. After that, Vildred had always been his humanoid form to hide his identity and accompany Kahn in his journey till now.
"Domain of the Skyborn." said Vildred, using his draconian maw.
Yes, the Royal Dragons had their own domains, unlike the other dragons Kahn had met or seen from afar.
Rumble!
Crackle!
Bang!
The domain first overlapped with Kahn’s dimensional domain, synergizing with it perfectly as if they had already practiced it before.
However, it was indeed their first time fighting together against a common enemy.
But since they knew each other’s strengths and weaknesses, it wasn’t hard.
Vildred’s control over world energy was leagues above that of anyone else here because he was a Sage.
Infusing his own domain with Kahn’s without hurting the domain’s properties or the caster, was a cakewalk for Vildred.
Not only Kahn’s but also Morrigan’s Domain of Corruption.
Now, it turned the surroundings completely different. Filled with clouds, lightning bolts, and rainfall.
"Idiots. I can just as well control water and clouds. As well as earth and life force. You think these mere domains are going to work on me?" asked the Serpent haughtily.
"Is that so? Then why don’t you try controlling those clouds or the raindrops falling?" asked Kahn, mocking while looking down on the mythical beast.
Despite the overwhelmingly powerful opponent whose aura was no weaker than his and physical might even surpassing his own... the Rainbow Serpent didn’t show any fear or weakness, still maintaining its dignified aura.
And after Kahn’s provocation... he quickly tried to use its abilities to control the clouds and water above.
Kacha!
"Arggh!" groaned the Rainbow Serpent.
For the first time in centuries of its existence... he couldn’t use his powers. Not only was his body and mind weak... he lost his ability to exert even basic control over the surrounding environment.
"How about you also try to stop this then..." said Vildred, his gaze turning cold.
"Domain of Skyborn, First Form: The Heavenly Tribulation!" declared Vildred.
The dark clouds condensed, strong gusts of wind started rampaging like tornadoes, the heaven and earth shook, while the lightning bolts in the sky started merging.
Soon, the terrifying aura turned many times deadlier. Forget the enemy; even his allies were petrified and almost couldn’t move due to the fear in their bodies.
A royal dragon’s aura wasn’t something one could shake off easily.
Next, the condensed lighting bolts turned even 100 times stronger. Just one bolt of this lightning was enough to raze down a large city... yet there were more than 10 thousand of them, ready to descend.
Vildred’s domain wasn’t just a force of unstoppable power...
It was the incarnation of Armageddon.
