Heretic Trainer: The Gym Is My Cultivation Method
Chapter 788: Who Needs Divine Ancestry Anyway
The moment the countdown reached zero, brilliant golden light suddenly descended upon Garion and his ten selected representatives.
WOOOOOM!
Before anyone could react, their surroundings disappeared.
When the light faded, Garion found himself standing inside an enormous circular chamber surrounded by towering golden pillars.
At the center of the chamber stood a gigantic arena, while four separate observation platforms floated high above its edges.
Garion looked around curiously before grinning. "Ohhh! So this is where that arrogant Creator brought us? Not bad! Not bad at all!"
Rachel stood beside him, her pink-gold eyes carefully examining their surroundings. "Darling, look over there. It seems the other candidates have arrived as well."
Garion followed her gaze.
On the other three observation platforms stood three unfamiliar figures, each accompanied by ten representatives.
One candidate was a tall woman dressed in magnificent silver robes, while another was a muscular man covered in crimson armor.
The last candidate appeared to be an elderly man wearing a dark golden crown, his expression filled with unmistakable arrogance.
Garion immediately rubbed his chin. "Hehehe... Interesting! I wonder what kind of systems these bastards have."
Atlas appeared beside him, crossing his tiny arms.
[No idea. Their system information is completely concealed by the trial’s restrictions.]
Garion shrugged casually. "Hahaha! Whatever! We’ll figure it out once their people start fighting!"
He then looked toward the enormous arena, his eyes shining with anticipation.
At that moment, a golden system panel appeared above all four observation platforms.
DING!
[Trial of the Teacher - First Group Battle]
[Four Candidates Successfully Assigned]
[All Representatives Registered]
[Each Candidate Must Select Their First Representative]
[The Battle Shall Begin Once All Four Representatives Enter the Arena]
Garion scratched his chin thoughtfully. "Hmm... So we have to choose who goes first, huh?"
He slowly turned toward his ten representatives, examining each of them.
Although every member had successfully reached the God Realm, there was one individual who immediately caught his attention.
A tall, muscular demon with crimson-red skin, two magnificent horns, powerful wings, and a long tail stood quietly among the others.
Velion Varkoros.
Unlike the other representatives, Velion’s appearance made him particularly conspicuous.
His draconic-looking horns, enormous demonic wings, and unusual red skin had always caused others to stare at him.
Because of that, he rarely socialized unless someone approached him first.
However, beneath his intimidating appearance was a surprisingly kindhearted individual who genuinely enjoyed helping others.
And more importantly, he absolutely loved training. After all, Velion had once been a powerless demon who could barely protect himself.
But after joining God Gym and enduring Garion’s ridiculous training methods, his strength had undergone a complete transformation.
Within a remarkably short time, he had become one of the strongest individuals among the newer disciples.
Yet even after reaching the God Realm, Velion had never forgotten how miserable it felt to be weak.
That was precisely why he continued training harder than almost anyone else.
Garion looked toward him before breaking into a friendly grin. "Hehehe! Velion! How about you take the first match?"
Velion immediately raised his head, his crimson eyes widening slightly in surprise. "Me, Master?"
Garion nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah! You’ve been training like a madman lately, haven’t you? Time to show everyone what you’ve learned!"
Velion glanced toward the enormous arena before slowly clenching his fists. "Of course, Master. I would be honored."
He bowed respectfully before continuing. "You gave someone as powerless as me the opportunity to become strong. I won’t waste everything you’ve taught me."
Garion laughed heartily. "HAHAHA! That’s the spirit! Just enjoy yourself, Velion!"
Velion nodded firmly. "Yes, Master. I’ll give it everything I have."
He then spread his enormous wings, preparing to enter the arena.
For the first time in his life, the demon who once possessed no power whatsoever was about to fight on a battlefield where even gods were merely participants.
And this time, he had no intention of being the weak one.
---
The moment Velion chose to be the first one to be sent, a brilliant golden light descended upon his body.
WOOOOOM!
In the next instant, he disappeared from Garion’s observation platform and reappeared inside the enormous arena.
Almost simultaneously, three other figures materialized around him.
The first was a tall, silver-haired warrior with pale golden skin, magnificent silver armor, and brilliant blue eyes.
Ancient divine markings covered his arms, while an unmistakable sense of inherited nobility radiated from his body.
The second was an enormous, muscular berserker wearing blood-red armor. His body was covered in countless scars, and a massive battle axe rested casually against his shoulder.
The last was a handsome golden-haired knight clad in radiant divine armor, holding a magnificent greatsword decorated with sacred runes.
All three immediately turned toward Velion.
And their expressions changed.
The silver-haired warrior raised an eyebrow before letting out a disdainful chuckle.
"A demon? Seriously? Among all the divine races participating in this trial, someone actually brought an ordinary demon?"
Velion glanced toward him but remained silent.
The warrior’s grin widened as he examined Velion’s crimson skin, horns, wings, and tail.
"Hmph! Judging by your appearance, your bloodline doesn’t seem particularly impressive either."
He proudly raised his chin. "Do you even possess a divine ancestry worthy of standing beside someone like me?"
The crimson-armored berserker burst into laughter.
"HAHAHA! Who gives a damn about his bloodline?! Just look at him! He looks like some random demon dragged out of a remote wasteland!"
He slammed his massive axe against the ground.
"Hey, demon! You’d better put up a decent fight! I didn’t come here to slaughter some pathetic weakling!"
Meanwhile, the golden knight’s expression became cold and disgusted. "An unholy creature..."
He narrowed his eyes at Velion. "To think an existence carrying such impure demonic energy would dare step onto the same divine battlefield as us."
The silver-haired warrior nodded approvingly. "Exactly! At least someone here understands the difference between true divinity and inferior races."
Velion quietly listened to their insults.
Surprisingly, he showed no anger whatsoever. Instead, he simply smiled. "Well, you’re not entirely wrong."
The three opponents blinked.
Velion glanced down at his hands before continuing calmly. "I wasn’t born strong. In fact, I used to be an extremely weak demon who couldn’t even protect himself."
The silver-haired warrior sneered. "Ha! So you admit it!"
Velion nodded without hesitation. "Of course. But that’s exactly why I started training."
He slowly clenched his fists. "I trained every day, pushed myself beyond my limits, and continued improving until I finally became what I am today."
His crimson eyes glimmered with quiet determination. "And since I’m standing in this arena alongside you three, doesn’t that mean we’ve all reached the same level?"
For a moment, the entire battlefield fell silent.
The silver-haired warrior’s expression stiffened.
The berserker’s grin disappeared.
Even the golden knight frowned deeply.
The silver-haired warrior immediately snarled. "You arrogant little demon! Don’t compare yourself to someone born with a supreme divine bloodline!"
BOOOOM!
He suddenly disappeared from his position, charging directly toward Velion with tremendous speed.
His fist erupted with brilliant silver light as he aimed a devastating punch toward Velion’s face.
However, Velion merely shifted his body slightly.
SWOOOSH!
The punch missed his cheek by a hair’s breadth.
In the same movement, Velion stepped forward and delivered a short, precise counterpunch directly into the warrior’s abdomen.
BAAANG!
The silver-haired warrior staggered backward several steps, his expression twisting with surprise. "What?!"
The impact itself wasn’t particularly devastating.
However, something strange had happened.
For a brief moment, an uncomfortable sensation spread throughout his abdomen, as though something cold and sinister had entered his body.
His divine energy seemed to hesitate for an instant.
The warrior frowned before quickly dismissing the sensation. "Hmph! Some cheap demonic trick?"
He straightened his posture and sneered. "Unfortunately for you, something that pathetic won’t work against my bloodline!"
Velion didn’t respond. He simply lowered his fists into a relaxed fighting stance.
And for the first time since entering the arena, a faint, almost mischievous grin appeared on his face.
