Her Food Livestream Broke the Galaxy
Chapter 820 - 839: Stuffed Steamed Buns! Xiangxiang!
"When one has strength to spare, one has kindness to share."
These words began to spread throughout the dormitory area. Though simple, they carried immense weight.
The clinic had reopened.
Qiuqiu and her roommates entered their designated consultation room. Since this was not a league competition but a genuine free clinic held during their time off, the usual restrictions did not apply. Patient classifications and faculty inspections were practically nonexistent. To maintain order, Dean Zhu simply arranged for a few stationed soldiers to patrol the hospital grounds.
The late autumn wind carried a chilling hint of winter, but the announcement over the broadcast instantly warmed the hearts of those waiting outside the walls.
The doors had opened.
They had no idea what was going on, but just being allowed inside was enough to make them overjoyed.
With only four people tending to patients, the line moved sluggishly at first. Once Qiuqiu stepped into her little kitchen, she immediately got to work. She had come here with a very clear goal in mind: speed.
She wanted to treat as many patients as possible. By using food as a medium and her Healing Spiritual Power as a bridge, she hoped to see if this combined method could help her break through her current bottleneck.
To achieve that speed, she couldn’t make rice bowls like she had before. She would make steamed buns instead.
She already had the bamboo steamers ready, and with plenty of flour as her main ingredient, she could make more than enough to go around. After perfectly balancing the ratio of flour and water, she kneaded a massive batch of dough and mixed in the yeast. To speed up the proofing process, Qiuqiu placed the dough into an incubator.
While the dough was rising, she could prepare the fillings. Stir-frying some pork, beef, or chili and eggs to stuff inside the buns would be quick, convenient, and incredibly flavorful.
By the time the first wave of patients arrived, the dough was ready, but the buns hadn’t been formed yet. Anticipating this, Qiuqiu had the rather anxious patients take a seat and served each of them a cup of pre-made tomato soup. Since the soup was simmered rather than stir-fried, it wasn’t greasy. It carried only the rich aroma of sesame oil and the slight, appetizing tartness of tomatoes.
While everyone sipped their soup, Qiuqiu busied herself with the dough. The airy dough was swiftly kneaded into large, smooth white rounds that were both soft and elastic. Under her deft hands, they were quickly rolled out into long logs, dusted with dry flour, and sliced with a cleaver. Uniform portions of dough were neatly arranged across the cutting board.
The water in the pot was already at a rolling boil. Steam billowed from the bamboo baskets, each holding dozens of plump, snow-white buns.
While the buns steamed, Qiuqiu returned to the stove to stir-fry the meat. The pork was diced into tiny cubes and simmered in a rich, fragrant sauce. The beef was cooked a bit drier and sprinkled with a blend of spices. Meanwhile, the vibrant chili and egg filling was equally eye-catching.
By now, the buns had been steaming for nearly ten minutes.
The comforting aroma of steamed wheat filled the small room. It was so intoxicating that all the patients set down their soup and stared blankly toward the kitchen. Now that the mouthwatering scent had captivated their senses, Qiuqiu took the opportunity to stealthily release her spiritual power.
She hadn’t actually expected it to work, but... it truly did.
The aroma served as a relatively weak medium. Though successful, she had to expend far more spiritual power than usual to achieve the desired effect.
The realization flashed through her mind just as the steamed buns finished cooking.
Logically, her patients were already treated and didn’t need to receive any food, but Qiuqiu didn’t let them leave empty-handed. Instead, she slipped on a pair of gloves and took out the fragrant, soft white buns. Tearing them open down the middle, she used a small spoon to scoop a little bit of all three fillings into each one.
