Hello, Our Romance
Chapter 250: The Doting Mother and the Foolish Son?
When Miyahito and Utaha, holding hands, returned to the first-year floor of the school building.
"You guys." Leaning against the corridor window and chatting with Iura Shu about last night's TV variety show, Tooru caught a glimpse of the couple, who were as lovey-dovey as ever. He couldn't help but make a face as if he had eaten something too sweet, saying with a mix of envy and disgust, "This is a school, I'm begging you two to tone it down a bit."
"Jealous?" Miyahito raised an eyebrow, looking at the sour-looking Tooru with a hint of disdain.
"Ishikawa-kun, I've recently gotten to know a few nice girls."
Standing on the same side as her boyfriend, Utaha, looking exactly like a gracious sister-in-law, spoke to Tooru with a gentle, virtuous smile and a caring tone.
"I have their contact information here. If you don't mind that they go to Shuchiin, I can introduce them to you~"
Critical hit!
Hearing Utaha's "caring" words, the corners of Tooru's mouth twitched. Not knowing what expression to make, he looked at Utaha, whose smile remained dignified and virtuous, with a complex gaze, and then looked at Miyahito, who was still holding her hand but laughing so hard he was about to run out of breath.
He let out a deep sigh, looking at this unscrupulous couple who had teamed up to tease him with a mix of amusement and helplessness.
"You two are getting more and more in sync."
Especially when it came to teasing him.
"Of course." Miyahito raised his eyebrows proudly, raising their intertwined hands while speaking in an obnoxiously smug tone that begged to be punched.
"Haven't you heard of the term 'couple's resemblance'? Utaha and I are practically engaged. A single dog like you wouldn't understand."
Critical hit x2!
Looking sympathetically at Tooru, who had been obliterated by the couple and was now prostrating himself on the cold, ruthless floor in a pose of utter despair, Utaha voluntarily let go of Miyahito's hand.
While tightening the hand-knitted scarf around her boyfriend's neck, she said with a bright smile.
"Then I'll head back to the classroom first."
"Yeah, go ahead." Similarly raising his hand to tuck a stray strand of hair behind his girlfriend's ear, Miyahito nodded and responded with a doting smile.
Watching this sickeningly sweet couple's interaction, Iura Shu squatted down with a toothache-like expression and poked Tooru, who was still kneeling on the floor.
"Are they always like this?"
"What else would you expect."
With a deadpan expression, even faintly revealing a sense of having nothing left to live for, Tooru turned his head to look at the strangely expressive Iura Shu and said resentfully.
"How do you stand it?"
Iura Shu widened his eyes slightly, looking at Tooru in surprise.
"Showing off their love like this every day, don't you, Hori, and Yoshikawa have problems with your eyes?"
"Heh." Giving a contemptuous laugh, Tooru nimbly scrambled up from the floor. Looking down condescendingly at Iura Shu, whose expression held a hint of shock, he replied with a nonchalant tone and demeanor.
"You get used to it, and it's fine."
"Get.... used.... to it...."
Iura Shu had a thought in his heart that he didn't know whether he should voice.
Um... Tooru, you look unspeakably pitiful.... Yeah, like a single dog kicked out of the house.
"Morning, everyone!"
"Good morning."
"Whoa! Hori-mama is getting more and more stylish."
Laughing heartily, Miyahito caught the textbook that Kyoko threw at him in flustered anger. While carefully dodging her pursuit, he looked at Yuki, who had no energy at all this early in the morning.
"What's wrong, Yoshikawa? So listless this early in the morning?"
"Good morning, Miyahito." Raising her head slightly, Yuki, whose little face was covered in exhaustion, greeted him in a sluggish tone.
"?"
Seeing the usually energetic, or rather hyperactive, Yuki looking so lifeless for the first time, Miyahito's curiosity was piqued. Letting Kyoko hammer his back a few times, he walked over to Yuki's seat and asked softly.
"Did you go out stealing last night?"
"You're the one who went stealing!" Retorting angrily, Yuki slumped back onto her desk gloomily and spoke in a muffled voice.
"I studied way too late last night, and I almost couldn't get up this morning."
What!?
That Yuki, who usually only opened a book two days before an exam, actually pulled an all-nighter to study?
The sun didn't rise from the west today, did it!
Recalling carefully and confirming that the sun he saw this morning did indeed rise from the east, Miyahito looked at Yuki with even greater shock.
"What's so strange about that."
Noticing the shock and disbelief on Miyahito's face, Kyoko smiled playfully and patted his shoulder. Waiting for him to look at her, she proudly explained to the bewildered Miyahito.
"I just analyzed your science grades for this semester for her."
"?"
"What do you mean?"
"You don't know?"
Kyoko stared dumbfounded at Miyahito, whose expression was even more bewildered than hers. Confirming that this guy genuinely didn't understand, Kyoko rubbed her forehead and said with a tone full of helplessness.
"Do you have any idea how much your science grades have improved this semester?"
"No clue."
Miyahito put on a self-righteous expression and shook his head very honestly.
"How would I know my grades? Utaha always picks up my report cards. Every time she brings them home, I get scolded by her."
Looking at Miyahito's aggrieved appearance and hearing his heart-wrenching tone, Kyoko couldn't help but twitch the corners of her mouth.
"So, how does Utaha scold you?"
Good lord, the moment Kyoko said this, Miyahito immediately started pouring out his grievances.
"Let me tell you, every time after an exam, Utaha makes me sit formally in the living room, glares at me like a fierce demon, and slams the table with a textbook... (blah blah blah)"
On this side, as Miyahito went on and on about how Utaha treated him after every exam, he grew more and more aggrieved.
On the other side, as Kyoko listened to Miyahito's complaints, her expression grew more and more conflicted, and her gaze, which was like looking at her own foolish son, became increasingly sympathetic.
Utaha..... isn't this a bit too much?
Recalling a certain day when she went to the teachers' office and heard her homeroom teacher, Tachibana-sensei, happily sharing the class's grade improvements with her, Kyoko couldn't help but remember the chart she had seen on Tachibana-sensei's desk.
The line graph of Miyahito's science grades, which had skyrocketed in a nearly straight line, leaving everyone else in the dust.
Kyoko couldn't help but feel emotional in her heart.
She and Yuki had been absolutely right from the start.... This guy Miyahito was truly going to be completely whipped by Utaha.
"Kyoko?"
As he was talking, Miyahito noticed that the way Kyoko was looking at him seemed a bit off.
Why did it feel so much like the look his mother gave him when he won the kendo tournament?
Before Miyahito could ask, 'Why are you looking at me like that?', Kyoko, noticing that he had stopped talking, slowly raised her hand.
Placing her palm gently on his head, she rubbed it with a tender motion.
"You're the best, Miyahito."
Huh? Huh! Hori! Are you my mom!?
