Chapter 126 - Following
Chapter 126: Following
“Bunch of people who don’t want to improve,” Xiong Ao was greatly angered by this group of people. He promptly turned around and left.
“Did he forget the official business?” Lu Jing only spoke when he was out of range.
Xiong Ao must have had something to relay to them if he went out of his way to come here.”
“Hahahaha…,” Sun Qiluo was happy. “I guess he forgot about it because we angered him too much.”
“It’s a good thing he forgot about it. Nothing good happens when he looks for us,” He Xingzhou was secretly overjoyed.
“Remove your makeup fast and make a run for it. We don’t want him coming back after he remembers,” Sun Qiluo quickly went to change her clothes and take her head accessories off.
She didn’t care about the makeup and ran away in a flash after leaving everything that belonged to the team.
“What’s your room number, Xiangxiang? I’ll go and compare scripts with you when I have the time,” He Xingzhou followed what Sun Qiluo did, but he asked Yun Xiangxiang something before he got away.
“1022,” this wasn’t a secret. Everyone would know even if she didn’t tell. They were basically living on the same floor.
“Noted,” He Xingzhou ran away after saying that.
“Thanks to Xiangxiang, I don’t have to work today. There’s also a feast tonight. I’ll go back and catch up on some sleep,” Hou Cang stretched and yawned before he left.
Yun Xiangxiang and Lu Jin were left in the makeup room. Yun Xiangxiang sat at her spot and let Coco and Zhou Jie carefully remove her makeup.
“Director Wu and Screenwriter Xiong may be harsh while filming, but they are very easygoing in private. They are generous too,” Lu Jin mentioned to Yun Xiangxiang.
“I noticed that too,” Yun Xiangxiang agreed.
Sun Qiluo and He Xingzhou wouldn’t be getting along with them like that if they weren’t generous in private.
This was a very harmonious team. Yun Xiangxiang preferred filming films because the film’s team had relatively fewer members.
Seven or eight people when the leads and supporting roles were added was already a lot for a film. Most of the time, it would be three to five people. Sometimes two to three.
TV dramas had extensive scripts. It would be very hard for it to be a hit if they didn’t have any romance in it. The exceptions would be the dramas that had large worlds. With that kind of script, it would be an enormous team when the leads and supporting actors were added. Having too many people would eventually create unwanted troubles.
For “The King’s Plan,” having the five of them was already a lot. Yun Xiangxiang was still thinking about whether she would come across any weirdos before she came here.
Now it seemed like all of them were easygoing and not hard to get along with. Yun Xiangxiang was already satisfied with that.
It had already been decided that Yun Xiangxiang would play as Madam Xi. As for compensation and contract, they would go to He Wei directly. They didn’t need to trouble her.
He Wei would naturally take the contract to Yun Xiangxiang for her to sign after he settled everything about it. She believed that He Wei would shoot for the best terms for her.
Wu Zhao didn’t bring them to any restaurants for dinner. He instead called for delivery and placed the dishes in his room.
There was famous food from the Hubei province. They were also known as Hubei cuisine: steamed Wuchang bream, Tianmen steamed dishes, braised Yi River clams, Bagua soup, lotus root pills, the dragon’s dish…
Sun Qiluo was having the most fun during dinner. She didn’t even care about her image. She sighed in satisfaction after eating, “Finally I had a good meal.”
“Thanks to Xiangxiang,” He Xingzhou agreed wholeheartedly.
“Get out of here if you’re so dissatisfied with the food,” Wu Zhao spoke immediately.
“No can do. I already made it halfway through. Now it’s nearing the end. If I go away now, that means I got a few months’ scolding for nothing,” Sun Qiluo shook her head. “I’ll buzz off as fast as I can after the filming is finished.
“I’ll pay special attention to you starting tomorrow,” said Xiong Ao sinisterly.
Sun Qiluo immediately faltered, “I was wrong, Big Bro Screenwriter. Please forgive me, please let this slide.”
“The filming will start tomorrow. Get to know each other, all of you.” Wu Zhao then proceeded to shoo them away, “and buzz off after you are finished with dinner. My room is already cramped enough.”
“We’ll buzz off right now,” He Xingzhou looked like he was waiting for this moment.
“Thanks for the meal, Director Wu,” Hou Cang was also decisive.
Yun Xiangxiang consciously followed suit when she saw the others leaving.
“If you don’t mind, how about hanging out at my place?” Lu Jin asked everyone else after they exited Wu Zhao’s room.
“How about opening a bottle of Romanee Conti, Brother Jin?” Sun Qiluo’s eyes were shining.
“It must be the ’78 version,” He Xingzhou added.
Lu Jin smiled. His smile was charming. “Do you drink red wine, Xiangxiang?” He asked Yun Xiangxiang.
Yun Xiangxiang shook her head honestly in the face of Sun Qiluo and He Xingzhou’s expectant gaze, “I don’t like to drink any kind of alcohol.”
Yun Xiangxiang didn’t like any kind of alcohol, be it red wine, white wine, beer, and even fruit wine and rice wine.
She wouldn’t numb herself with alcohol no matter how hard it was for her in her past life. She disliked the feeling of getting drunk.
A lot of people claimed that being drunk would make you feel as light as a feather. However, Yun Xiangxiang only felt fuzzy and lost when she was drunk.
“Brother Jin, look at us, look at us,” He Xingzhou quickly made his existence known by pointing to himself and Sun Qiluo.
Hou Cang stayed away from this conversation. He liked white wine, which was stronger than red wine. However, he wouldn’t have any alcohol now. He still had to film tomorrow.
Lu Jin gazed at Sun Qiluo and He Xingzhou who were making puppy faces, “We won’t drink it today. We don’t want to bring trouble to work tomorrow.”
He continued when he saw them drooping their heads, “I’ll bring the red wine you guys want as a celebratory gift once Director Wu holds a celebratory feast after our film starts to screen.”
Both of them became happy again, “Okay, okay, okay. Our film will be a hit.”
The group talked and laughed their way to Lu Jin’s room. Everyone had the same standard room. Lu Jin also only brought one assistant along. The assistant immediately served and poured tea. They started officially introducing themselves in the room.
They discussed extensively about their personal opinions on the script after that. They even talked about the parts that they weren’t so sure of so that everyone could discuss using it as reference.
They discussed until ten at night before they split up. Yun Xiangxiang didn’t think that it was appropriate for her to ask everyone to split up, seeing that this was their first time gathering together. It was fortunate that ten o’clock wasn’t really late. Coco had already made the medicated bath according to Song Qian’s instructions.
Yun Xiangxiang followed the bath up with her practice. The effect wouldn’t be as great without Song Qian’s acupoint massage. However, Yun Xiangxiang could already take the pain now.
Just as she was turning off the phone and going to bed at eleven o’clock, she noticed that the Four Seasons group which had been quiet for a while had new messages.
[Wei Shanshan: I’m filming late at night. Is anyone with me?]
[Fang Nanyuan: You have the ghosts as company.]
[Wei Shanshan: Holy cow, Almighty Nan. I’m at a remote, deserted place. Please be kind and do some good deed with that mouth of yours.]
[Yun Xiangxiang: Shanshan, Your new show is airing soon, right?
[Wei Shanshan: {?} I knew you don’t scroll Weibo. I just posted a status today!]
Yun Xiangxiang really wouldn’t think of Weibo if nothing was happening. She quickly logged in. Sure enough, she saw Wei Shanshan’s promotional post that was uploaded today.
It turned out that the drama would start airing tomorrow. It was the one that Yun Xiangxiang recommended to Wei Shanshan. It was an ancient era drama in which Wei Shanshan would play a supporting role.
Yun Xiangxiang reposted it immediately to remedy what she did.
Nobody expected Lu Jin to actually follow Yun Xiangxiang the moment after she reposted Wei Shanshan’s post to help her promote her drama.
Yun Xiangxiang’s fans broke into a frenzy immediately.
[Ah…, Big Bro Best Actor Lu followed Xiangxiang!]
[Heavens, what kind of deity farmer is my Xiangxiang? She has Almighty Xue earlier, and now you have Emperor Lu [1]!]
