Vol. 12 - Ch. 755 - The Defense War at the Heavenly Sandal Kingdom 7 - 3rd POV

Though Meruru and Tam-Tam had incapacitated Gandira, the situation remained bleak for Heavenly Kingdom's forces. Merle, having coordinated the situation behind the scene, teleported the dragonkins troops from Primordial Beasts Forest to the battlefield. 

The sky was soon littered with the ranged attack of dragonkins.

«Tch, you really underestimate us!! Let me show you your futility!!»

*Clang-Clang*

One of the ranged attacks from Extra Skill struck Bask's bare upper body, but failing in piercing through his oppressive resistance and durability, the spear broke apart instead. 

It wasn't him alone. It was apparent at a glance neither of the ranged attacks had dealt any significant damage to the demon army either, their advancements unhindered. 

Boasting an overwhelming stats of 300,00, Bask was unbothered by the attack that fell on him as he continued to take on Dogora, and his other team members at the frontline. 

As if their stats alone weren't enough—archdemon stood at god-class realm with their 200,00 stats, while demons boasted demi-god class stats reaching 100,000—they also had been protected by resistance buffs that lowered the damage dealt to them.

Rosalina had long used divine technique at the Divine Arena, and they also hadn't had the protection of Sophia and Luck's great spirits. 

Mackris tried to put up a fight, trying to make up for the gap with his Royal Aura, as well as other stats buff from weapons and artifacts, but his stats didn't even break past the 50,000. 

Merus brought along the force of dragonkin to make up for the firepower when Divine Golem's fusion came off, but it was clear the plan was a failure, leaving him gnashing on his teeth. 

The situation of Divine Golem wasn't any bright either. The fusion with Digragni—no, even the Divine Golem they had formed by merging 25 golem had come apart. They lied individually on the ground, having spent their entire energy on the final burst against Gandira.

"Hey, Meruru! Let's do it again, I mean the Divine Fusion!!"

"...I can't. It's cooldown is 1 day."

«We've been cornered on all fronts.»

And even without the cooldown, the burden of running two divine techniques in parallel had already taken root among the members. Then, the final nail was hammered when the Ultimate Canon consumed every ounce of their strength. It was apparent neither of them was rising on their feet for a while. 

«Repair Progress 55%... 60%...... 65%......»

Meanwhile, Gandira had already been endeavouring to recover via «Power Pod». 

Seeing that 20,000 dragonkin couldn't even make a dent on the situation, Merle decided to teleport other troops. After all, the stronghold in Primordial Beast's Forest harboured above 100,000 dragonkins. 

«I will be arranging the 2nd Unit and 3rd Unit Dragonkins! I am sure God's protection would bless us soon. So, make sure the bastion isn't destroyed until then...»

Meruru and other dwarves had begun to withdraw from the frontline, so Merle took the chance to inspire morale among the troop, and got ready to bring on more dragonkin. 

«Would you mind If I interrupt?»

«Huh? Who—oooooaa!? Divine Easley!!»

A voice cut through his thoughts from the flank just as he prepared himself for his next strategy. 

Merle had already escaped quite high into the air, avoiding getting into range of dragonkin's attack. He also had been watching over the situation through the eyes of summoned beasts, which should've left no blind spot. So, when the unknown voice suddenly rang without a hint to him, he couldn't help but be surprised, releasing a groan quite unlike his usual composed tone of former First Angel. 

«......The situation is indeed bitter. I hadn't expected to be called back so soon after yesterday's ceremony.»

«I see, so you've come as reinforcement...»

He had received information about Easley from the summoned beasts he shared vision with, though it was so surprising that he had to double take over the situation to confirm the appearance of a weasel—Great Spirit God Easely. 

Easley spoke in a wistful tone, sharing how he, too, was surprised that he was back at Heavenly Kingdom just a day after he conferred the divine power to First Angel Hotaru.

«The situation is anything but bright, huh.»

«The demon's truly got their situation under their thumb, didn't they? Haha.»

As Easley comments over the situation, a flying squirrel—Spirit God Rosen replies in a dry, sarcastic fashion. Soon, other new arrivals showed themselves.

«In the name of Elmea-sama, what an awful situation.»

«Anyone who dares create chaos in the place of gods must be punished. I am grateful Lupto-sama informed me of the situation.»

The Spirit King Ponzu appeared gliding across the sky, his appearance taking the form of a raccoon. Around him was Spirit King Conzu, taking the appearance of a fox. The fox's tail had been on fire, rapidly spinning like the blades of a helicopter, allowing enough force for Conzu to hover in the air. 

The two's stature span beyond 10 metres. It was their battle form, prepared to wage a battle against demons at any moment. 

Last, but not least, nearly 100 great spirits could be seen in the sky as well.

«...Ha...ha...... F-finally, I am glad we managed to make it through before anything drastic happens.»

Lupto's laboured breath filled the air from top of Spirit King Ponzu's head. 

On the other hand, Merus was completely dumbfounded at the situation, his mouth opened so wide one could have put a whole egg on it. He couldn't fathom the negotiation Lupto must have gone through to bring someone of Easley's stature as well as other spirits gods and their force.

Though, Easley's statement put a break to his thoughts.

«We're in a race against time, to protect the circle of life. We must stop them from throwing the world we know as toward chaos.»

«.....I can't express how heartfelt I am to have your support in the battle. Alright, I will be returning to my task.»

All that mattered was to uproot the demons. Merus readjusted his thoughts as he listened to Easley's words, and teleported away. 

Easley didn't bother to spare glance at either Merus or Rosen for their remarks. He glanced at the demons and opened his mouth. 

«I presume, it's my turn to get back into action. World's Breath!»

The divinity he exuded transformed into innumerable water droplets, and fell over the dragonkins on the battleground.

"S-Something just fell one!? ...Huh, m, my power is...!"

Perplexed at first, dragonkin promptly noticed the burst of life force surging from their core. The droplets covered a large area, buffing the dragonkin as well as healing any accumulated damages.

Easley's gaze didn't linger further once he had done his work, and turned his gaze to the other spirit gods at standby.

«...Rosen-san. It's your turn.»

«I know. Blessing of the Spirit God!! Haha!»

At the cue, Rosen followed next, channeling one's own divine power, transforming it into golden drizzle. The golden rain roused another layer of buff, raising everyone's stats.

The exciting cheers of dragonkin, beastkin, or the citizens of the kingdom filled the air when they felt a surge of power, the support of gods blessing them. Though, just as much of this side was excited, demons were just as perplexed. 

«You all shall begin, too. The defenders shouldn't need to be pushed back anymore.»

«All right~.»

«Understood.»

Ponzo and Conzo followed after Rosen at the signal of Easley, subsequently, the other spirits continued after them, conferring their blessings to their allies. 

In the timeframe, Merle came back, and this time, the force he brought was for more than just to earn them some time.

«I have brought in the 2nd and 3rd units!! Wait for the command, and be on standby until then!!»

"It's our tuuuurn!!"

"Let's goooooooo!!"

"Spare no oneee!!"

With each unit consisting of 20,000 dragonkins, Merle had effectively introduced 40,000 more dragonkins. He arranged them behind the 1st Unit, having them spread apart in fan formation, and signalled them to wait for his cue before firing off their Extra Skill.

With the numerous blessings overlapping, the morale of dragonkins were at their all-time high. 

«Alright, then we're going to break the fangs of enemies. Everyone, follow me!»

Fabul remarked, and spearheaded a group of poisonous great spirits. They were all slime shaped similarly, their appearance so dark not even the brilliance could pass through them. 

«Stop anyone from approaching Spirit God!!»

With Gandira at the centre, Fable, with the help of other spirits, casted a number of debuffs in one kilometer of radious, weakening them. 

The tide of battle was finally turning in their favour. Allen's party members, as well as Admiral Galara, all burst with an excitment at the long awaited result. 

"Hurray!! I can use my divine technique again! It's our turn, everyone!!"

"My words, it felt so long!! Alright, I am going to sing once more!! Princess Mermaid!!"

Meruru and Roselina's excited shouts follows. It appeared their skills and divine technique were out of cooldown. Similarly, their team members continued to gain buffs, while the demons lost a part of their stats by the debuffs. 

Admiral Galara had experienced the effect of Extra Skill «Spirit God's Blessing» a few times, which carried the effect of resetting cooldown. He immediately turned to his subordinate dwarves while gripping the magic disk in his hand.

"We're back in teh game, boys! Change to new slots! Extreme Union Golem!!"

"Finally!!"

"I'm going to turn mincemeat of demons!!"

"Let's do it!!"

The earlier overlapping of divine techniques had left the imbuded true body slates damaged. He reminded them of it, and a moment later, the five supreme golems arises once again. 

"It's my turn then, alright. Divine Technique! Extreme Divine Golem!!"

 Meruru followed after them, activating his own divine technique, and merged to bring back the Divine Golem.

"Nice, time for some action!!"

«Hey, flew to sky!! I will be your wings!!»

Digragni's voice followed. The giant golem had been flying over the battlefield ever since the fusion with Divine Golem came off. 

«The rearguard has devoted to stick to ranged attack. It's recommended to escape into the sky to not obstruct their aim.»

The momentum of allies were rising, especially of dragonkins. With the groundfield now attuned to their favour with buffs and debuffs, they should definitely make a dent on their enemies at lest. Tam-Tam showed its agreement with Digragni's proposal. 

Just as Admiral Galara prepared for their round #2 against Gandira, Tam-Tam and Digragni's voice echoed inside the cockpit. 

"Leg Unit! Fly!!"

"Get ready!!"

The dwarves of Leg Unit raised  their voice to fill them spirit, and rapidly fiddled with the touch panel. A moment later, jet engined protruded out of Divine Golem's feet and propulsed it into the sky.

«Great! Now, it's Digragni On!!»

"Yeah! Let's do it. Digragni Ooooooon!!"

Acting on the call of Digragni, Meruru promptly pushed on for divine technique «Digragni On», his face full of smile. It was clear he hadn't learned anything from their prioer incident, and he pushed the Head Unit—Admiral Galara to began the fusion.

"Haa... the youngs one are truly... Fine, let's do one last rondo of impossibility! I am going to smash that bastard for sure!! Torso Unit, relay the signal for the fusion!!"

"Fusion Command Confirmed. ...Relaying Back Unit Fusion Command."

Digragni transformed into two giant wing this time, while Torso Unit coordinated with him to complete the fusion on back. Digragni's wing form span for 300 meter, it's golden sheen of orichalcum shining under the light rays. From under and above, one could also caught the glance of 6 canons of varying sizes. 

Dragonkins had awaited this moment, and as soon as Divine Golem flew into the sky, they lead their counterattack now that demons were in plain sight.

«On your marks, fireeee!!»

«Uooooooooooo!!»

Merle's command was the spark that lit the fuse of enthusiasm among dragonkin. A loud rumble rolled across the battlefield as their war shout dominated, followed by the release of long-range attack that drowned even the sky.

«Bugyah?!»

And this time, their attack didn't fail, didn't just tickle them. The attacks definitely cut through demons flesh/

«Damage to Demon King's Army at 40% threshold. ...Activating Evil Orb.»

Gandira murmured and brought out another Evil Orb. He had just tossed it to heal the demons when Meruru's sharp scream echoed.

"Haaaaaaa! You're not doing that in my watch!!"

"Magic Canon!!"

"Magic Canon!!"

"Magic Canon!!"

*Boom*

The high-intensity blasts caught Evil Orb in it.

The five dwarves of Right Hand unit, and Tam-Tam took control of one of six canon and rain fire over Gandira and demons from the sky. A series of explosion completely engulfed them in their pace.

«Damage to Demom King's Army at 50% threshold. ...Mission accomplishment probabilit below 15%. Perilious Situation Detected. Requesting Urgent Aid.»

Caught in the bombardment of both the Divine Golem and Dragonkin's ranged attack, Gandira relayed for a message for rescue.
