Chapter 782 -

Allen then turned to Beast God regarding his purpose.

«To me?»

"Yes. As a matter of fact, Zeu-san had entrusted me to pass two messages.»

"He did?"

Though Allen made a reply to Gram, Shea unwittingly interjected when she heard it was Zeu who had the business with Beast God while drinking fruit water from the leather bag.

"Yes. Zeu-sama has said he's preparing to receive the migration of beastkin currently residing in Primordial Beast's Forest. Apparently, he also has been working on a new city where migrated beastkin can make their home at, and familiarise themselves with the Human Realm."

(Zeu-san probably has his doubts about beastkin living in the Divine Realm.)

Now that he was the king, Zeu had already begun on his policy and implementing them. Even when Allen made calls for resources and manpower for other nations, he had proactively showed his support.

He had been worried about his brethren in Primordial Beast's Forest—their population was around several thousand in numbers—for sometime now.

The beastkins had once been left in the Central Continent where they had to face tyranny of the local forces. At the end, they're taken to Divine Realm by Beast God Garm. Aside from Primoridial Beast's Forest, beastkin once used to live in Heavenly Sandar Kingdom as well, but since the offspring between denizens of Divine Realm and Beastkin would always be a beastkin, they'd remained the target of persecution. And now, the beastkin only ever had Primoridial Beast's Forest to live in.

Zeu was concerned that they hadn't enough freedom in their life, and thus, he had been trying to accept them in the Albahar Kingdom. Allen iterated the exact words of Zeu to Beast God.

«......And, what is it that you seek then?»

"What?"

«Don't play dumb with me. You should know I can directly communicate with Zeu. I have heard your conversation. You also didn't receive any positive response from the Great Spirit God, did you?»

"......So, you are already aware of the situation."

(He has seen through everything. Hmm, I guess he must be observing Zeu-san all this while. Besides, he already is in touch with Beast King, and should Beastkin display any desire to return back to Human Realm, he only has to command the reigning king as their Beast God. There should be no one to defy the decree.)

Seeing as Allen had finally understood, Beast God grinned.

Allen had been pulling his hair seeing as his level hadn't budged even once after hitting level 250, and neither he could find any hint that would anyhow tell him how to unlock S-rank summon's awakening skill.

The change came when Sword God Sestavenus, one of the higher gods, helped Graham unlock his awakening skill. Perhaps, the missing factor in unsealing was the help of a higher god? The thought immediately crossed in his mind.

He had made a few rounds here and there, and had visited Great Spirit God to request his strength in releasing the awakening skill of Pecktan, a grass S-rank summon.

But, "I am unable to remove the seal," was what he was told by the Great Spirit God.

In short, the condition to release the seal seems to be—they must be old gods, and was. or is a higher god.

«I do not hold you for the impatience given the turbulent situation, but do watch out your "path."»

"I apologise. If a trial is required, then please tell me, and I will try to clear it within the remaining five days."

Allen bowed his head, not for himself, but to save the little sister of his summon Merus.

«Mhm, so you will do anything? And I should take it, you're truly sincere?»

"Yes, I am extremely serious."

"A-Allen?! I am sorry, Gram-sama, but please allow me to help him out in the trial!!"

"...No, Shea. You should focus on your training."

Seeing as Beast God towering above Allen, inquiring "Are you truly prepared to face the trial?", Shea panicked and jumped in the middle of both.

Of course, she knew who Beast God was. As the princess of Albahar Kingdom, how could she not? Regardless, Beast God never once spared a glance at Shea, and stared down at Allen with his pitch black eyes, as if they would immediately open up the door of purgatory at him.

«You will do anything, no turning back? I must caution that it's not going to be some hand-wavy challenge.»

The burst of divine aura emanated from Beast God, and it slammed on Allen.

"H, hey, argh. You aren't really kiddin—huh... ahhhhh!"

Catching up on the fringes, the fox beastking Repa was resting, while straining ears to listen to their conversation, when the burst of divine aura blew away everyone in victim.

Despite their strength, Obre and the rest of Ten Heroic Beasts were no match against a higher god. They lowered their posture to withstand the pressure.

"I do. I will appreciate any challenge."

Channeling his strength to his feet, Allen remarked, his bow remained in bowing gesture.

«......Alright, I see the path you’re walking. And, consider it as a reward for being kind to Zeu and Shea. So, who will you choose? I am training Shea right now, so make it quick.»

At the end, it was a reward, one that seemed to have taken account the kindness Allen had for Shea and Zeu since their first encounter.

(Hmm? So, what, that was a trial to question one’s true self? If so, the interview was quite an impactful one. Well, for now, unsealing is the priority.)

"Is the limit one?"

Allen inquired to see how many summon seals he could've unlocked. There were too many—Bird, Grass, Fish, Dragon, Angel, God—summons to choose from, and the selection depended on the answer.

The thought caused a black aura of greed to come out of him.

«Have too much greed, and I will take it as we never had this discussion. Also, it can't be just anyone. It appears you have summons of many types, but it would be for the best if it's someone more closer to my type.»

"A-alright. The one that's closer to you... Kuwataro. I would request to unlock his seal."

Acting as if he didn't hear the warning of Beast God, Allen hurriedly buried his greed, and replied. Then, he put forward his hands, palm facing up with Kuwataro in chibi form—using the ability «Infancy»—resting on them.

Perhaps, releasing the seal depend on the matching expertise of higher god and summoned beast, Allen thought. Gram was once the Sword Saint, and he had received help from Sword God. Allen chose Kuwataro for release of seal.

«Kuwataro, is it? I remember turning it into a sacred bird though... alas, people nowadays are just ungrateful.»

«Please accept my apology for that, Gram-sama.»

Of the three beasts Luvanka, Kuwataro, and Makris, the former two had been helped by Beast God to break through to Sacred Beast.

Recalling back the details, Beast God's expression pulled a sour expression. Nevertheless, he tottered toward Kuwataro, hovering his bony hands over, exuding divine power.

*Glimmer*

"Woah!! Kuwataro is shining!!"

«Oooh?!»

The infusion of divine power caused Kuwataro's feathers to shine.

«Alright, this should be enough, right?»

«The seal of Summoned Beast Bird S's Awakening Skill, «Selective Sight», has been lifted.»

A new log registered in the grimoire, affirming the release of seal.

"Woah! Amazing! Alongside Luvanka and Graham, there are three beasts with awakening skills now!"

(I am truly glad I decided to drop by, and managed to unlock new awakening skills for three S-rank summons in this short time period!)

After an earlier reminder, Allen suppressed his excitement internally, and immediately took a look at the grimorie.

Beast God remarked, irked that Allen had instead focused himself on grimoire, with no words of appreciation to him. He had been completely engrossed in his analysis.

"Hey, it's about time for our break to end. I know you have your work, but it's dangerous if you stick in that place. If you want to inspect, do it from the fringe atleast."

"Hmm, ah, you're right. I'm sorry."

Hearing other's calls, Allen moved to the corner of the vast training ground, his eyes still glued to the grimorie. In his place, Shea and Ten Heroic Spirit Beasts stood to face Beast God once again.

They're training to increase the pace of their combos. By matching their rhythm, it was a training to fight with ten bodies as one. Now, it was a trial in itself if they could achieve it.

(Selective Gaze, huh. It doesn't seem to have any offensive capability, so I guess I can try it on allies. Kuwataro, use Selective Gaze.)

At Allen's instruction, Kuwataro invoked the skill while perched on his shoulder, its four eyes releasing a glow.

«Understood. I will cast it on Shea-san.»

The gleam in Kuwataro's eyes increased gradually, and soon, some letters and arrows appeared in Allen's vision, courtesy of the shared vision.

"Haaaaaa!!"

Shea charged a knuckle against Beast God in her beastkin form, having invoked divine technique «Beast God Transformation».

Sword Beast Emperor Hachi backstepped as Beast God's attack slammed in his direction. Ober jumped in the path to shield Hachi.

Ober channeled his strength into his muscles, enhancing their robustness, as he lowered his centre of gravity and pushed the sledgehammer as a shield in front of him. Beast God spun, and slammed his tail against him.

"Gahh!?"

"Aaargh!"

Albeit, facing the tail strike of Beast God, neither Ober's defense, nor Hachi's agility could escape, and were immediately slammed hard. The two bounced off the floor of the training area like some ping-pong balls.

(Amazing. It can tell what move, whether it's enemy or an ally, the other party is going to make, huh. It sounds handy to escape feint attacks and so on. But what kind of ability is it even? Some kind of clairvoyance? What is the range? And how far in the future it can see?)

'Perhaps, this ability can read a determined fate,' Allen speculated, but before he could've thought more about it, he captured the change in Shea's choice, seemingly influenced by the knock down of Obre and Hachi.

"Tch! How can you call yourself the shield and be taken so easily. Everyone, back down for now."

Shea changed her stance from 'attack' and immediately had the vanguards retreat. She, too, backstepped, distancing herself from the Beast God.

As soon as a new choice was made, the details changed to reflect it. Once it is known what would be the next move of their enemies, this information could prove vital in intercepting in theory.

With new findings, Allen continued to dig deeper into the analysis of Kuwataro's new ability.
