While the Empire is handling the ongoing attack relatively well thanks to Leon’s excellent management, the Theocracy and the Kingdom of Ortyr are not dealing with it nearly as well.

The Theocracy mainly struggles because it doesn’t have as much military power, relying far more on its adventurers and its limited soldiers who aren’t as well prepared for this kind of situation.

But they still have two saints and capable people like Ryu, and Nio is handling killing the strongest monsters from a distance to create controlled chaos. The Kingdom of Ortyr, however, has no one like that.

Even though the Kingdom of Ortyr is known as the nation with the most National Rank adventurers, they all just do whatever they want, while Ortyr’s military strength already had problems because of being at war with the Emperor.

And to make things worse, the moment Ortyr was attacked by the Raid monsters, it also received an attack from the rear by the beastmen, enemies of the Kingdom of Ortyr who didn’t care about anything and took advantage of the opportunity.

This forced a controlled redistribution of power, and since the princess can’t give orders directly and can only control her father to give them, the troop control process is much slower than in any other kingdom.

Which caused them to start with significant damage to the city center where the portal appeared. And just like in the Empire, someone attacked the portal with spatial magic, and when the portal is attacked with something that distorts space so that it doesn’t "fail," it simply opens completely and throws all the monsters inside out.

Which is the "worst" scenario of a Raid, since in a Raid you only face 50% of the beings inside the portal, and the Overloaded Raid that occurs when attacking the portal with spatial attacks releases 100% of the monsters all at once.

However, this was also seen as an opportunity to grow. Ortyr, with its immense number of adventurers, ended up having great talents who began to face the monsters and pressure them so they wouldn’t spread throughout the Kingdom.

The National Ranks, for the most part, quickly kill most of the weak monsters, only taking a bit longer on monsters level 50 and above. And while this Chaos unfolds, various nobles, the king, and the princess are gathered in the castle receiving reports and deciding what to do.

"Your Majesty, we have currently confirmed the deaths of 500 civilians and several adventurers in the center alone. Although the number of monsters has decreased slightly, they continue advancing and taking ground in certain areas," a General reports as he places a crystal on the table showing the situation.

A true bloodbath in the streets. All the monsters are irrational beasts and don’t stop even when wounded, so all that’s left is to kill or die.

"Victoria, what do you think of this?" the king asks, uncertain about what to do. But even Victoria isn’t sure, because she’s more worried about the attack on the kingdom’s rear that consumed 50% of the troops who should have been fighting the monsters and are now having to repel the invaders.

"Daddy, I think we should close off the area, right? I’m sure you can see that we don’t need to defeat all the monsters yet, just stop them from spreading, and then we can reorganize everything and launch an offensive," Victoria says with an innocent tone.

"Oh yes!! Indeed, I think that’s a good approach. Does anyone here have anything to add?" the king accepts quickly.

"I do, Your Majesty," Yomo, who is in the meeting because she has gotten close to several powerful nobles, speaks while the princess stares at Yomo, still not knowing that Yomo failed to fulfill her part of the agreement.

"How are we going to make the adventurers obey? They don’t serve the kingdom, and for the most part they’re in this for the money. I don’t think we can stop them just because we asked," Yomo’s small comment makes Victoria think.

"Of course Daddy already thought of that, Lady Yomo. It can easily be solved with money. Since they want money, as long as it’s paid we can hire them for this mission, as well as increase the Rank of those at lower Ranks who are still useful," when Victoria says this, the king and several nobles agree.

"I disagree." However, one person dressed in black armor speaks with a tone of deep disdain—a National Rank adventurer of extreme importance who was also placed in this meeting.

"Why?" Victoria questions with a calm tone.

"If the Kingdom of Ortyr is being attacked from two points, we should first focus on what’s worse. These monsters are just stupid beasts. Let the adventurers kill them and focus on the beastmen. Those filthy beasts are attacking, and if they manage to invade, it will be a problem," the adventurer says with a tone of frustration.

Because although the monsters are a problem, they are a problem that won’t exist in the future, whereas if the kingdom is successfully invaded, they’ll lose a part of the kingdom that they’ll have to reclaim again, creating more work for the future.

"Who are you?" Yomo questions the adventurer, having no idea who he is or why no one questions what he says.

"I am—"

"The bastard prince..." Victoria interrupts, speaking with a strange tone in her voice. Yomo gives a nod of understanding as to why he’s here even without being a noble, being the only one here that Yomo didn’t know.

"Daddy, what do you think? Is it better to deal with those filthy beasts or with the monsters? In my view, dealing with the monsters seems better, since it opens possibilities to deal with the beastmen afterward. But it’s up to you to decide," Victoria leaves it to her father to "decide" so he thinks he has control, and because either option matters little—both are problems to be dealt with.

"I think... it’s better to deal with the monsters," the King favors Victoria’s choice. The adventurer makes an expression of disgust, even though it can’t be seen because of his helmet.

"Well then, let’s deal with the monsters first since the king has decided, and the king is the absolute authority."

"..." The Adventurer stands up, pushing his chair back.

"I’ll take my leave. I hope that won’t be a problem," Yomo looks at this man, feeling that he’s strong, which deeply interests her if he could be useful. She thinks about trying to talk to him later to use him, since she saw that he has issues with the current royalty.

In the end, Yomo thinks they handled it poorly. Actually, there was a very easy way to end the Raid—they just shouldn’t have attacked the portal. The Raid can only release a limited amount of 10 to 30 monsters at a time, and the adventurers would easily kill them faster than they’re released.

In the game, the overload system existed precisely to speed up Raids that were slow, and Nio even told her servants to speed up the Raids if no one else did it. But each place is speeding it up by accident by trying to attack the portal.
