Chapter 247: CH. 247 | Peace After Conflict

Lin Tian turned to walk away, still dressed in his mortal robes. But his steps halted again the moment he sensed the woman’s rage boiling over, launching herself at him in a fit of fury.

He spun around and blocked her attack without effort. With nothing but his bare hand, he stopped her sword strike cold.

Her expression twisted with obvious frustration, clearly unsatisfied with the explanation he’d given. Still, Lin Tian had no interest whatsoever in indulging her further.

He channeled a burst of his primordial qi and shattered her defense outright, sending her body flying backward through the air.

She slammed hard into the wall of the hall, coughing up blood, her eyes burning with fury as she glared ahead.

"You... who are you?" the woman demanded.

Lin Tian paused for a moment, letting his primordial qi and power fade back into stillness. He told her plainly that her strength stood no chance against his.

"You’d be wise not to involve yourself in your father and brother’s mess. It’s not worth it," Lin Tian said.

"Why would you do this? Why are you so cruel?"

Lin Tian turned his gaze forward, hands clasped firmly behind his back.

"Hao Bao came and tried to seduce my wife, even went as far as planning to steal her away from me. As her husband, I wasn’t going to just let that happen," Lin Tian answered.

"But his attitude irritated me enough that I decided the void dimension was a fitting punishment for him."

The woman fell silent, then sank down onto the floor, her right hand pressed against her aching chest.

She still couldn’t quite believe how disastrously things had turned out for her father and brother, all because of one confrontation with Lin Tian.

She also hadn’t expected Lin Tian to be the Sect Master of the Lingxian Sect. His appearance was so different, especially dressed in mortal robes.

No one could have ever guessed that the man in front of them, dressed like an ordinary blacksmith, was actually the leader of one of the great sects in the Qin Kingdom.

There was nothing more she could do. If she kept attacking Lin Tian, there was a real chance she’d end up sharing the same fate as Hao Bao.

The woman thought it through rationally. She understood clearly that she stood no chance against Lin Tian in her current state, her cultivation base was nowhere near a match for his.

With no further threat remaining, Lin Tian walked out of the Hao Family’s main hall, heading off alone back toward Xiayu Village.

What had just happened would surely come as a shock to plenty of people. Lin Tian’s only real concern now was whether the whole ordeal had left An Yue frightened or panicked.

Lin Tian continued on foot, leaving Yanzhe City behind until he finally arrived back at Xiayu Village.

The moment he stepped into the village, a crowd of villagers immediately gathered around him, many of them asking what exactly was going on and why.

He smiled and raised both hands, trying to calm them down, assuring everyone that everything was fine.

Before long, An Yue and Wei Hutong came rushing over from the direction of Lin’s Blacksmith.

The moment they’d heard Lin Tian had returned to the village, they hurried straight over. An Yue wrapped her arms tightly around him without hesitation, burying her face against his chest.

"I was so worried something happened to you," An Yue said.

"It’s alright," Lin Tian said. "Everything’s fine now."

"We’ve settled things. None of them will be coming after me anymore."

An Yue pulled back from the embrace and looked up at him, a wide, relieved smile spreading across her face. "Thank goodness. That’s such a relief to hear."

Lin Tian smiled and greeted the gathered villagers warmly. He and An Yue said their goodbyes to everyone before heading back toward Lin’s Blacksmith together.

The two of them finally arrived home, settling in to rest inside the house while Wei Hutong stayed behind to mind the shop.

For as long as Lin Tian remained inside the house, Wei Hutong would keep watching over the blacksmith shop on his behalf.

Lin Tian recounted everything to An Yue in detail, including his confrontation with Hao Ming, the head of the Hao Family, and how it all tied back to Hao Bao’s disappearance.

An Yue listened closely to every word, her expression shifting the moment she realized Lin Tian had sent Hao Ming and the other elders into the void dimension.

She understood all too well that the void dimension was nothing like an ordinary space. It was a vast, endless expanse, dark and utterly silent.

The odds of them ever finding Hao Bao in a place that was empty and desolate were slim at best. Still, it wasn’t entirely impossible, if fortune happened to favor them.

"I didn’t expect things to get this complicated," An Yue said. "So what will you do now?"

"Nothing," Lin Tian said. "I’ve already sent their family head into the void dimension. It’s unlikely they’ll come after me again."

An Yue nodded in agreement. She knew that whatever Lin Tian had decided to do was almost certainly the best way to handle the whole situation.

Still, there wasn’t a trace of fear or worry on Lin Tian’s face, as though there was nothing left in this matter worth being concerned about at all.

The two of them relaxed and shared lunch together, An Yue having already prepared the meal ahead of time. Lin Tian enjoyed it, eating alongside her.

Wei Hutong remained at Lin’s Blacksmith, attending to the customers who came by to purchase weapons.

Lin Tian trusted him to look after the shop, confident the young man would never steal from him or do anything to cause harm.

Time passed, and Lin Tian carried on with his usual routine. He returned to the shop and resumed his forging work.

By the time evening rolled around, nothing else had come up, the day seemed to drag on slowly and peacefully.

He stepped outside and watched the villagers going about their evening activities as dusk began to settle in.

Lin Tian took a long breath, then let it out slowly. "At least a calm situation like this is for the best."
