Heavenly Dungeon: My Subordinates Are All Woman Monsters
Chapter 97: Arrived At Hetin Town
Chapter 97: Chapter 97: Arrived At Hetin Town
The guard examined the document carefully. Once he confirmed that the seal was genuine, his expression immediately became more respectful.
"Please wait a moment. I’ll inform the mayor of your arrival."
The guard quickly sent word to the town administration, and the news spread faster than anyone might have expected. A group of adventurers from Lufast City had arrived to investigate the dungeon, and their leader was none other than Kyle, the young adventurer who had recently gained fame for helping defeat the boss during the dungeon outbreak.
For the people of Hetin Town, his arrival was particularly surprising.
After all, Kyle had once been an ordinary young man from a nearby village. Although he had shown promise as an adventurer, few people could have predicted that he would eventually become one of the most recognized young adventurers in Lufast City.
Before long, Mayor Cedric personally arrived at the town gate to welcome the visitors. Several guards and officials accompanied him, but Cedric paid little attention to them as he approached Kyle. His eyes lingered on the young man’s face, and for a brief moment, he struggled to reconcile the person standing before him with the boy he remembered from months ago.
Kyle had changed considerably.
His physique was stronger, his bearing more confident, and his equipment reflected the resources available to an adventurer who had earned recognition and rewards through dangerous battles.
There was a sharpness in his eyes that had not been there before, and the way he carried himself suggested someone accustomed to taking responsibility for the lives of others.
Cedric couldn’t help but feel astonished. ’Who would have thought that the person from that village would grow into someone like this?’
In what seemed like a remarkably short period, this man had risen through the ranks and established a name for himself. His accomplishments during the dungeon outbreak had only accelerated that rise.
Now, Cedric had to look up to him in a way he had never imagined.
The mayor quickly composed himself and stepped forward with a welcoming smile.
"Welcome to Hetin Town, Kyle. It’s been quite some time since I last heard about your adventures, and I must say, you’ve accomplished far more than I ever expected. I heard about your performance during the dungeon outbreak in Lufast City. You should be proud of what you’ve achieved."
Kyle returned the greeting respectfully.
"Thank you, Mayor Cedric. I’ve been fortunate enough to survive some difficult battles, and I’ve had the opportunity to learn from them. But I’m afraid we haven’t come here simply to exchange pleasantries. The city lord has assigned our team to investigate the dungeon near your town, and we would appreciate any information you can provide."
Cedric’s smile became more serious when the conversation turned toward the dungeon.
Mayor Cedric nodded as he heard Kyle’s explanation. Although he was pleased to see how much the young adventurer had grown, he understood that their visit was related to a matter that could affect the future of Hetin Town.
"Of course. There is no reason for us to discuss such an important matter here at the gate. Come with me to the town hall, and I’ll have someone prepare a detailed report of everything we’ve learned about the dungeon. It may not contain as much information as you would like, but I’ll share whatever we have,"
Cedric said before gesturing toward the town center. "Your companions are welcome to accompany us, of course. However, if they would prefer to rest after their journey, I can arrange for someone to show them around town and help them find suitable accommodations."
Kyle glanced at the nine adventurers standing behind him. They had traveled for an entire day to reach Hetin Town, and although everyone had maintained a reasonable pace, the journey had still been tiring. There was little point in keeping them together when they could use the opportunity to rest and prepare for the investigation.
"You don’t need to trouble yourself too much, Mayor Cedric. I’ll head to the town hall with you, but my companions can take some time to look around the town. We still need to investigate the dungeon, so they should make the most of this opportunity to restock their supplies and familiarize themselves with the area. Once we’ve finished our discussion, I’ll meet up with them, and we can prepare to enter the dungeon."
The other adventurers readily agreed. Some wanted to visit the local shops to replenish their supplies, while others were interested in finding an inn where they could rest properly before the investigation began. They had heard various rumors about the dungeon, and several were curious about the town that had become known for its proximity to such a dangerous place.
Cedric smiled and nodded. "That sounds reasonable. I’ll have one of the guards show them around and recommend a few reliable establishments. If any of your companions need assistance, they can simply mention that they’re part of your team. The people here will do what they can to help."
"Thank you, Mayor."
After Kyle gave his companions a few final instructions, they separated into smaller groups and followed the guards into town. Once he was satisfied that everyone knew where to meet later, Kyle accompanied Cedric toward the town hall.
The town hall was a modest but well-maintained building near the center of Hetin Town. It lacked the grandeur of the administrative buildings in Lufast City, but it was large enough to accommodate the town’s officials and handle its daily affairs. Several guards stood outside the entrance, and clerks could be seen moving between rooms while carrying documents and reports.
Cedric led Kyle into his private office, where they could discuss the dungeon without being disturbed. After asking a servant to bring refreshments, the mayor dismissed the remaining attendants and closed the door.
The moment they were alone, Kyle’s expression became more serious. He reached into his storage pouch and took out a sealed letter bearing the official insignia of Lufast City.
