Chapter 88: Chapter 88: Suldun Vs. Veyra (part 2)

That meant she wanted to fight. Suldun slowly drew his sword.

"You’re a monster from this dungeon, aren’t you?"

"Yes."

"Then you’re probably the reason this floor feels so dangerous."

Veyra’s smile became slightly wider.

"Perhaps."

Suldun sighed.

"I had a feeling leaving wouldn’t be that simple."

Veyra raised one hand, and crimson flames immediately gathered around her arm.

The temperature of the forest suddenly rose. Suldun’s expression changed.

That flame was different. It was denser than ordinary fire, and there was something terrifying hidden inside it.

Veyra calmly looked at him.

"Come."

The next instant, a blade made of fire materialize in her hands.

"[Infernal Blade]."

Suldun’s eyes narrowed.

"Fire element..."

He took a defensive stance.

"Then let’s see whose flames are stronger."

Veyra disappeared.

Boom!

The ground beneath her feet exploded as she accelerated.

Suldun barely managed to raise his sword.

Clang!

Their weapons collided.

A shockwave erupted from the impact, sending dust and dead leaves flying in every direction.

Suldun’s arms trembled.

"What strength!"

He immediately pushed against Veyra’s sword and retreated several meters.

Veyra followed.

Her Infernal Blade swept toward his chest. Suldun twisted his body and narrowly avoided the strike.

The crimson blade passed beside him. The moment it did, the heat burned through his clothing.

Suldun’s expression became even more serious.

"That fire is powerful."

He swung his sword.

Flames erupted from his blade as he counterattacked. Veyra raised her sword and blocked.

Boom!

The collision created another explosion of fire, the two figures separated. Suldun stared at Veyra. Veyra stared back.

Neither had been seriously injured. But Suldun knew something was wrong.

His attack had been blocked too easily. Veyra’s expression had barely changed.

"This monster..."

Suldun gritted his teeth.

"She’s stronger than the Gravehorn Reaper by an absurd amount."

Veyra suddenly moved again. Her Infernal Blade swept forward.

Suldun blocked, another strike followed.

Then another.

The forest became filled with the sound of weapons colliding.

Clang!

Boom!

Clang!

Suldun was forced backward.

He tried to create distance, but Veyra never allowed him enough time to breathe. Her swordsmanship was precise and aggressive, and every attack carried enough power to seriously injure him if he made even one mistake.

Suldun suddenly ducked beneath a slash, and he swung his sword upward.

Veyra blocked.

Suldun immediately released a burst of flames from his sword.

Boom!

The explosion forced Veyra backward. Suldun took the opportunity to retreat.

He was breathing heavily now. But Veyra looked completely fine.

Suldun’s expression darkened.

"This isn’t good."

He had fought many powerful monsters throughout his career, but this was different.

The monster in front of him was not only powerful. She was very skilled, and understood combat. And her flames were clearly far more powerful than his own.

Suldun tightened his grip.

"I guess I can’t hold back anymore."

His flames suddenly surged.

"[Blazing Heart]."

A tremendous wave of fire erupted from his body.

The flames wrapped around his muscles and began circulating through his body like a second heartbeat. His physical strength, speed, reaction time, and resistance to fire all increased dramatically.

The pressure he released changed. Veyra’s eyes narrowed slightly.

"So you had another skill."

Suldun smiled grimly.

"I’ve been saving it."

He disappeared.

Boom!

The ground beneath him shattered.

Suldun appeared directly in front of Veyra and swung his sword with overwhelming force.

Veyra blocked it, and the impact sent her sliding backward across the ground.

For the first time, her expression showed genuine interest.

"Much better."

Suldun did not answer, he attacked again.

His movements had become significantly faster.

His sword struck from different angles, each attack accompanied by a burst of crimson flames.

Veyra blocked the first. She avoided the second, and parried the third. But the fourth forced her to step backward, and the fifth struck her shoulder.

Boom!

Flames exploded.

Suldun immediately followed with another slash.

Veyra raised her Infernal Blade.

Clang!

The weapons collided. Suldun’s eyes flashed.

"Now!"

The flames around his sword suddenly changed. Every bit of fire surrounding his body began flowing toward the blade.

The forest became strangely quiet. Even Veyra noticed the change.

Suldun raised his sword above his head.

"This is my strongest skill."

The flames gathered around the weapon became enormous.

They formed a towering pillar of fire that illuminated the dead forest.

Veyra’s eyes sharpened.

Suldun roared.

"[Heavenly Inferno]!"

He brought his sword down.

A gigantic torrent of crimson fire descended toward Veyra.

The earth beneath Suldun’s feet cracked from the force. The trees surrounding the battlefield were instantly engulfed in flames.

The attack was powerful enough to completely erase the area where Veyra stood.

Boom!

A massive explosion swallowed the forest.

Back in the throne room, Ragnar’s eyes widened slightly. Kaelira watched the floating screen without blinking.

The attack was clearly powerful.

Even from the projection, the destructive force was obvious.

Kaelira slowly spoke.

"This is an unfair fight, my lord."

Ragnar looked toward her.

"What do you mean?"

"That human is strong. Probably much stronger than most Level 35 adventurers."

Kaelira’s golden eyes remained fixed on the burning forest.

"But Veyra has extremely high fire resistance. An attack based entirely on fire is not an ideal choice against her."

Ragnar nodded slowly.

"You’re right."

Veyra’s Infernal Blade had already demonstrated that her flames were extraordinary.

But that was not the only reason the battle was unfair.

Veyra had survived attacks from monsters far stronger than Suldun’s current opponents, and her combat experience was enough to keep pace with Kaelira during their spar.

The flames continued burning across the second floor.

Ragnar watched the smoke slowly spread through the floating screen.

"Still, that was a pretty impressive attack."

Kaelira nodded.

"It was."

Veyra’s voice suddenly came from inside the flames.

"Not bad."

Ragnar smiled.

The flames began to part. A figure slowly walked through the burning forest.

Veyra emerged from the inferno. Her clothes were slightly damaged. A few strands of her hair had been displaced by the explosion.

But she was otherwise unharmed.

Suldun’s expression froze, and his eyes widened.

"No way..."

Veyra raised her sword.

"Was that your strongest attack?"

Suldun’s grip tightened around his sword.

For the first time since entering the dungeon, he genuinely felt fear.

Veyra smiled.

"Then my turn."
