Heavenly Dungeon: My Subordinates Are All Woman Monsters
Chapter 70: Second Floor (part 2)
Chapter 70: Chapter 70: Second Floor (part 2)
[The Boss Room has been connected to the Second Floor.]
[Adventurers who successfully conquer the Second Floor will be transported directly to the Boss Room.]
Ragnar stared at the message.
Then a slow grin appeared on his demonic face.
"So that’s how it works."
He had been wondering how adventurers would reach his boss room after the dungeon expanded. The answer was simple. Anyone who managed to overcome the second floor would be automatically transported there.
That was actually convenient.
The adventurers would not need to wander around looking for his throne room, and Ragnar would not need to create another complicated passage between floors.
They simply had to survive.
If they reached the end of the second floor, they would be sent directly to him.
Ragnar’s grin widened.
"Good."
The construction continued for several minutes.
Then the system finally gave him the notification he had been waiting for.
[Second Floor construction complete.]
[Death Floor has been successfully established.]
[Second Floor is now accessible.]
Ragnar looked at the message for a few seconds.
Then he opened the Dungeon tab.
A new option had appeared.
[Second Floor]
[Enter]
Ragnar immediately selected it.
The world around him distorted.
A strange sensation washed over his body, and before he could take another step, the space around him twisted into darkness.
The next moment, Ragnar disappeared from the throne room.
When his vision returned, he found himself standing somewhere completely different.
The first thing Ragnar noticed was the darkness.
It was not complete darkness. A faint, pale light hung in the air, illuminating the surroundings just enough for him to see. However, the light was weak and cold, giving everything around him an eerie appearance.
Ragnar slowly looked around.
"...Wow."
The Death Floor was enormous.
Unlike the first floor, which had been built around a maze-like dungeon environment, the second floor felt like an entirely different world.
A vast dead forest stretched across the distance.
Thousands of twisted trees stood throughout the area, their branches reaching toward the dark ceiling like skeletal hands. Their trunks were gray and black, with rough bark that looked as though it had been burned decades ago. There were no leaves on most of them, and the few that remained were dark and withered.
A thin layer of mist covered the ground.
It moved slowly between the trees, crawling around Ragnar’s feet before disappearing into the distance.
The ground itself was dark and dry, covered with patches of dead grass, broken roots, stones, and scattered bones.
Ragnar lowered his gaze. Some of the bones were small, others were clearly much larger.
"Looks like animals."
He took a step forward.
The ground beneath his enormous foot gave a faint crunch.
Ragnar continued walking.
The farther he went, the more structures he began to notice.
Ancient stone ruins were scattered throughout the forest. Some were little more than broken walls, while others appeared to have once been small buildings. Cracked pillars rose from the ground, covered in dark moss and strange symbols.
Farther ahead stood what looked like an abandoned graveyard.
Hundreds of tombstones covered the area. Ragnar’s eyes immediately focused on them.
"Graves?"
He walked toward the graveyard.
The atmosphere here was noticeably different.
The air felt heavier.
Even though Ragnar was a demon and had no reason to fear ordinary darkness, there was something strangely oppressive about the place. It was not hostility. It was simply the overwhelming presence of death that seemed to permeate every part of the floor.
Then Ragnar noticed movement.
Something crawled out from behind one of the ruined tombstones.
Ragnar immediately stopped.
A skeleton slowly emerged from the mist.
Its body was nothing more than a collection of old bones, with a crude sword hanging from its side.
It looked around for a moment before noticing Ragnar.
The skeleton immediately dropped to one knee.
Ragnar blinked.
"Oh."
He looked around.
There were more of them.
Several skeletons were wandering through the graveyard, while others stood near the ruins. Some carried swords, some held crude spears, and a few carried old wooden shields.
Ragnar slowly turned his head.
"These came with the floor?"
The system answered him.
[Death Floor automatically generates basic undead monsters upon creation.]
[Current Generated Undead: 20 Skeletons.]
Ragnar’s eyes widened.
"Twenty?"
He looked at the skeletons again.
The number was small compared to the armies he imagined having someday, but considering that he had only twenty-six Soul Points remaining, getting twenty monsters simply by purchasing the floor was an excellent bonus.
He walked toward one of the skeletons. The creature immediately lowered its head.
Ragnar crouched slightly so he could examine it.
It looked almost identical to the skeletons on the first floor.
However, something felt different.
Ragnar’s eyes narrowed.
"So even these ordinary skeletons are stronger here. It must be because of the buff"
He looked back at the skeleton standing before him.
The creature suddenly raised its sword.
It swung the weapon downward with all its strength.
CLANG!
The sword struck the ground.
A small crack appeared in the stone beneath it.
Ragnar stared at the crack.
A satisfied smile slowly spread across his face.
This was exactly what he had wanted.
The Death Floor was not merely a new location.
It was an entirely new foundation for his dungeon.
Ragnar stood upright and continued exploring.
The graveyard extended much farther than he had initially thought. Beyond it was a ruined stone pathway that disappeared into the dead forest. Along the pathway were broken statues of unknown creatures, their faces eroded by time. Some statues were missing their heads, while others had their arms broken off.
Farther away, Ragnar could see a massive ruined structure.
It resembled an ancient fortress.
Its outer walls were cracked and partially collapsed, but several towers were still standing. Dark openings could be seen along the walls, and a huge gate stood at the entrance.
Ragnar’s eyes narrowed.
"That could be useful."
He immediately imagined placing stronger undead inside it.
Perhaps a group of skeleton warriors could patrol the walls.
Maybe zombies could hide inside the ruined buildings.
If he eventually obtained a death knight or another powerful undead monster, that fortress would be the perfect place for it.
