Heavenly Dungeon: My Subordinates Are All Woman Monsters
Chapter 37: Veyra In Action (part 1)
Chapter 37: Chapter 37: Veyra In Action (part 1)
Ragnar’s lips curved slightly.
"Apparently not."
The sound of his deep voice caused several adventurers to tense.
His voice was far deeper than any of them expected, carrying through the enormous throne room with a natural authority that made their instincts scream at them to be careful.
Eric’s face became even paler.
"He can speak too..."
Darian’s eyes widened.
"Both of them."
Eric nodded slowly.
"Both of them are intelligent."
Veyra smiled, it was a beautiful smile.
Yet for the thirteen adventurers standing before her, there was nothing comforting about it.
"Well, My Lord."
She turned back toward the adventurers.
"Shall we begin?"
Darian immediately raised his sword.
"Everyone, get ready!"
The thirteen adventurers moved almost instinctively.
Darian and Eric stood at the center of the formation, while the remaining adventurers spread themselves around them. Their weapons were already drawn, and although exhaustion weighed heavily on their bodies, the sight of the woman standing before them forced every trace of fatigue from their minds.
After all, they were still adventurers. They had fought for their lives before.
And although this woman was clearly something they didn’t understand, they couldn’t simply stand there and wait to die.
Veyra looked over them one more time. Her eyes briefly stopped on Darian, Eric, then the others.
She seemed to be counting.
"Thirteen."
Her lips curled upward.
"That’s quite a few."
One of the adventurers tightened his grip on his spear.
"You won’t be laughing for long."
Veyra looked at him.
"Oh?"
She tilted her head.
"Then come and prove it."
The adventurer didn’t hesitate.
"Take her down!"
Three warriors immediately charged.
Their swords and spears cut through the air as they attacked Veyra from different directions, deliberately trying to prevent her from escaping.
Veyra didn’t move, she simply stood there.
The first sword was already less than a meter from her neck when she finally moved.
Her body disappeared.
"What?!"
The adventurer’s sword cut through empty air.
Before he could recover, Veyra appeared beside him.
She casually placed one hand against his chest.
Then she pushed.
Boom!
The adventurer was sent flying as though he had been struck by a charging beast. His body crashed into the stone wall several meters away, and the impact caused cracks to spread across the surface.
"Leon!"
Two more adventurers attacked immediately.
One swung his sword toward Veyra’s waist while the other thrust his spear toward her shoulder.
The two adventurers attacked at the same time.
One swung his sword toward Veyra’s waist while the other thrust his spear straight toward her shoulder, their coordination far better than their previous reckless charge.
They had fought together for years, and they understood how to create openings for one another. If their opponent dodged the sword, the spear would follow. If she blocked the spear, the sword would strike from the opposite side.
Against an ordinary monster, the combination would have been difficult to avoid.
Veyra simply smiled.
"Too slow."
Her body shifted sideways by less than half a step.
The sword passed harmlessly in front of her body, while the spear narrowly missed her shoulder. Before either adventurer could recover, Veyra reached out and grabbed the shaft of the spear.
The adventurer’s eyes widened.
"Let go!"
He immediately pulled with all his strength.
Veyra didn’t move.
Instead, she looked at him with an amused expression.
"Is that all?"
She gave the spear a casual tug.
The adventurer was pulled toward her so violently that his feet left the ground.
"What?!"
Veyra released the spear and drove her knee into his stomach.
Boom!
The adventurer’s body folded around the impact before being launched backward. He crashed into another adventurer behind him, sending both of them tumbling across the stone floor.
The swordsman who had missed his attack immediately turned around.
"She’s behind you!"
Darian’s warning came too late.
Veyra had already appeared behind the swordsman.
She raised her hand.
Crimson flames suddenly erupted around her palm.
[Crimson Flame Manipulation]
The flames were unlike ordinary fire.
They burned with a deep crimson color, twisting around her arm like living serpents. The temperature in the throne room instantly rose, and several adventurers instinctively stepped backward.
Veyra’s smile widened.
"Let’s see how much you can endure."
She swung her hand.
A crescent of crimson fire tore through the air.
The swordsman raised his weapon desperately.
BOOM!
The impact sent him flying backward.
He crashed into the floor and rolled several times before finally stopping.
"Leader!"
Several adventurers immediately rushed toward him.
"I’m fine!"
Darian forced himself upright.
Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. His eyes were filled with disbelief.
He was Level 15.
Among everyone who had entered the dungeon, only Eric was equal to him.
Yet this woman had overwhelmed him in close combat without even appearing to struggle.
Eric stared at Veyra, his entire body was trembling.
"She’s too strong..."
Veyra heard him.
She looked toward the mage.
"Are you the other strong one?"
Eric swallowed.
"Don’t come near me."
Veyra smiled.
"I wasn’t planning to."
She raised her hand, the crimson flames surrounding her suddenly grew brighter.
[Flame Burst]
BOOOOOOM!
A massive explosion erupted from Veyra’s position.
The shockwave swept across the throne room.
Several adventurers were thrown off their feet instantly.
"AAAAH!"
"Get down!"
"Protect Eric!"
Darian planted his sword into the floor and used it to keep himself from being blown away.
The flames expanded outward in a perfect sphere, covering the surrounding area before finally beginning to dissipate.
Smoke filled the chamber. Several adventurers struggled to stand.
One looked around in panic.
"Everyone, report!"
"I’m here!"
"Still alive!"
"My arm..."
"Where’s Eric?!"
Darian immediately looked toward the mage.
Eric was still standing.
Several adventurers had formed a defensive wall around him, shielding him from the worst of the explosion.
Darian released a breath.
"Good."
Then a voice came from within the smoke.
"You humans are surprisingly persistent."
The smoke slowly cleared.
Veyra stood in the center of the chamber.
Not only was she still standing, but she appeared completely unharmed.
