When the dark presence appeared, all of them gathered toward the corner and prepared for battle. What manifested were thousands of shadows.

They moved swiftly out of the storage compartment and formed around the girls, looking at them with distorted smirks. One of them moved its distorted shoulders, as if stretching. "It has been a long time… Thank you for unsealing us."

Yasenia glanced toward Angel's mirror. "Mirrory, did you do this on purpose?"

Mirrory answered with a faint smile. "Don't worry. They are not as dangerous as you are imagining. The reward for defeating them is also worth it."

The Shadow snorted. "We are the revenants of the Evil Source Sect. We are the souls of its elders, its elites. You speak as if you can defeat us? Foolish. I can sense that none of you are Half-Steps. None of you even have the qualifications to face us."

Yasenia, though, was doubtful. 'Was Mirrory someone who would unleash something like this without a plan? Naturally not.'

Yasenia looked around the room, together with the rest of the girls. Andrea quickly whispered. 'Love, the columns.'

The other girls were also quick to the uptake.

The thirteen columns they'd observed when they first opened the door were now flowing with energy. Observing had sharpened their senses to the max, so each second stretched impressively.

The girls quickly realized the imagery on the walls depicted more than they'd thought. It wasn't something drawn by the Evil Source Sect. The reason was that the ceiling imagery showed them being sealed away. If that was the case, how could sealed individuals paint about it?

The leader realized that the girls were planning something, so he smiled. "No matter what you are thinking. This is your grave. We will use your corpses to feed our great gods and cause all of you to collapse."

After speaking with the girls, Yasenia acted quickly. With a simple wave of her hand, she, Tatyana, and the maids shot several attacks toward the thirteen columns.

They aimed at the carvings depicting the sealing imagery. The attacks struck the dimly lit gems, activating the entire structure. Formation lines quickly covered the room. When they saw that happening, the shadows showed annoyance, not despair.

"You are an annoying bunch. We'll see each other later. My name is Gao Tianmo, the Fifth Supreme Elder of the Evil Source Sect. Remember it."

Then, the shadows rushed toward the walls without formations and slipped through, escaping the room. A second later, the entire room lit up, and the girls were moved to a completely new zone.

Yasenia looked around rapidly. A chaotic scene entered her sight. The floor was cracked and reddish-colored. The sky was completely black without a single star.

Even so, the space was well lit. Be it the light coming from the ground or otherwise, it helped keep this place illuminated and not in complete darkness.

"Where are we?"

Mirrory explained. "We are where they were sealed. If they had not escaped, their strength in this area would've plummeted. Also, no, you couldn't activate this formation before liberating them. This is a resealing formation that, if activated straight away, would allow you to fight them in an incredibly weak state. Even a single Level Nine Transcendence would manage to wipe them all out."

Her fingers pointed sideways. "Go that way. That's the direction of the treasure."

Yasenia nodded. "I can smell it."

Evelyn was a bit confused, so as they moved, she asked. "Why didn't you explain everything before we moved, Mirrory?"

Mirrory rested her chin on Angel's head and hugged her around the neck. In that position, Mirrory's body dragged behind her, floating. She looked like Angel's cape. "Well… It was not a dangerous moment. I alone could've targeted all those gems myself if it had turned precarious. I wanted you girls to be a bit more aware of your surroundings, and this way is better to hammer it into your instincts instead of telling you straight."

Tatyana understood that logic. "Hm… I do agree. If we told you straight, you would learn to rely on us instead of looking around. If, instead, we activate the trap and force you to solve it, we teach your instincts to be prepared in case we do the same thing again. It's a very different approach that works really well."

One was understanding with the body. The other was understanding with the mind. In this case, teaching it as a reflex worked better than teaching it as part of the thinking process.

Valeria was a little bit gentler when it came to teaching, so she sighed. "You two, I know there was virtually no danger, but you must evaluate it a bit more in the future before pulling a stunt like that."

It wasn't that she didn't understand, but they liberated a bunch of dangerous entities into the world without previous warning and even allowed them to escape. Those outside would not be having a good time.

Mirrory shrugged. "What happens to others is not our problem, is it? Moreover, there is something that makes it worth releasing them inside here."

While moving around, they noticed several zones with a city-like structure. It was made of the same reddish stone, but clearly hand-built.

"Did they live here?"

Valeria nodded at Andrea's question. "Most likely. They've been trapped here for a long time. They could just let time pass by meditating, but I doubt it is a pleasant experience to meditate here. Their bodies seemed to have been sealed or destroyed as well, hence their shadowy bodies."

Soluna appeared, her expression full of wonder. "I also noticed that, Valeria! They have transformed into something akin to a Spirit, have they not?"

Her assessment was correct. "Indeed. You could tell by their flow of energy. This place, while it is a prison, is also a place where they can sense energy more delicately. The thinner but equally pure energy, if detected as a spirit, is a good way to understand the Dao. So, one of them might've had an epiphany and transformed their soul into a Spirit form. The rest, well, it is easy to guess."

Yasenia galloped forward, spread her wings, and flew ahead. Kali asked, baffled. "Love? Where are you going?"

"Treaaasureeeee!!"

The cheery voice made them all burst into laughter, and some of them slapped their foreheads. Their lips, though, were arched in a helpless yet doting smile.

Yasenia arrived and landed in front of the place with the treasure like a meteor, kicking up an explosion of dirt. A simple flap of her wings cleared everything.

Trotting forward with glimmering eyes, Yasenia arrived in front of a massive altar. It was crafted from black rock and white statues, with an open ceiling. The form was circular, with pillars supporting the upper structure.

Each pillar had a red-colored chain pulled taut. In the middle, all chains curled around a massive weapon. It was a red, black, and gold colored halberd, the size of a small hill.

"Wow! Andrea's new weapon!"

Yasenia's brain immediately identified the weapon's use. Origin? Did it matter? This treasure seemed to have a Weapon Spirit, or at least the potential to become a growth weapon like Draheart.

Even if it was an evil artifact, they just had to cleanse it. In Yasenia's opinion, this thing could only have one job: making her Darling stronger!

Andrea and the others arrived a moment later, looking up at the giant halberd with a curious look. Yasenia trotted over, each step with a happy jump. "Look! Look! A new weapon for you, Darling!"

Mirrory hummed. "It will be difficult for Andrea, though."

"Why?"

Mirrory glanced toward Yasenia and spoke. "Draheart, what do you think?"

Draheart manifested from Yasenia's Dantian in her humanoid form. The blue-haired, red-eyed, cute-yet-voluptuous short girl glanced over with her usual deadpan look. Angel giggled when she saw her. 'They have my body type… but they are even shorter than me!'

Angel was around 155 centimeters tall. Short, but not excessively petite. Draheart was even shorter than Angel, at around 149 centimeters. It was a stature chosen to fit optimally within Yasenia's embrace!

Yasenia looked at Draheart and flopped onto the ground, hugging Draheart into her arms and licking her cheek. "You are so cute."

Draheart's deadpan expression gained a faint smile. "Andrea, as she is, probably can't rein it in. This one is even more of a wild horse than Yasenia's flag."

Mirrory agreed with Draheart's assessment. "It's not impossible, though."

Draheart nodded. "It is not impossible. Andrea's inheritance is strong, after all. It was something left behind by one of the strongest Sun Gods, after all."

Vairon also manifested in his human form. His tall, wild, and handsome self caught their attention. "Andrea, if you want to use that weapon, you have to be prepared to have it test your heart."

Andrea and the other girls had long since cleared their Heart Demons thanks to Yasenia's past efforts. They still had insecurities and worries, but none were deep enough to give birth to a Heart Demon.

However, they weren't immune to them. If their worries amplified uncontrollably, they could give birth to new Heart Demons and break their pristine state.

Andrea, though, was not afraid. "I can give it a try. What is this weapon, though? You are all speaking as if you know about it."

Mirrory chuckled. "Well, I do know it. This is the [Evil Slaughter Heaven Breaker]. A weapon crafted to defeat evil that, sadly, was corrupted. Some people renamed it [Heaven Breaker Demonic Slaughter], but its original name is the one I just gave you. At its peak, it was even stronger than an Immortal Ranked treasure. Eighth Realm cultivators have fallen to this weapon."

Draheart nodded, a touch of reminiscence in her eyes. "Strong weapon."

Yasenia blinked and squinted at Draheart. "Have you clashed with it?"

Draheart didn't lie. "I have. My edge almost got chipped by it."

Yasenia was stunned. Until now, Yasenia had never seen even a single scratch on Draheart's surface. She did maintenance from time to time, but it was more about spending time with her than fixing her.

In Yasenia's eyes, Draheart was almost indestructible.

And yet, this weapon almost chipped her edge in a clash? Moreover, the weapon was pristine. So did Draheart damage it in return? 'Draheart's origin is still a mystery, isn't it? I really want to know.'

Draheart gave Yasenia a soft glance. "Not yet. Don't worry, I will tell you eventually."

Yasenia pouted. "Okay."

"By the way, love. The scent you've been following, was it that of this weapon?"

Yasenia shook her head at Tatyana. "No. This treasure's scent was hiding until we entered here. The other treasure I am smelling is of a similar quality to this one, though."

Evelyn was surprised. "The Evil Source Sect must have an insane foundation. Just this Halberd is enough to surprise me, yet they have another thing of this quality?"

Draheart spoke lightly. "If this halberd is here, it is probably the armor that goes with it. Armor and weapon forged to slaughter evil, but in the end, corrupted by it. It seems that the day to rectify their paths is nearing… Good for them."

Her last comment was not sarcastic. Draheart spoke with a genuine smile. Her expression resembled that of someone seeing a friend about to recover from long-lasting scars.
