Chapter 1695: Chapter 1695. Word Plays. Yasenia’s Brilliance.

Seeing Jian Xinlin speak with Yasenia so easily, the other top beauties at the table also began to feel calmer. Honestly, the one they feared most wasn’t Yasenia, but Tatyana. Her overall vibe was incredibly solemn and elegant. Even her indifferent expression as she tasted tea made her feel unapproachable.

However, as she sat without speaking while Yasenia and Jian Xinlin talked, they managed to relax their tense nerves. Shang Qinqin knew most of the women at the table, so she began speaking to them once she noticed their fingers gripping their teacups more lightly.

"You won’t believe how I first met Lady Yasenia."

The woman by Shang Qinqin’s side looked over, together with a few others, their eyes gleaming with interest. The one who answered was Bai Lanqin from the [Boundless Sword Sect]. She, together with Jian Xinlin, made up two of the five Heavenly Beauties of the Central Area.

Of the other three, one belonged to the [Thousand Desire Pavilion], another belonged to the Zhuo Family, a family of scholars, and the last one was the Third Princess, Xuanyuan Meilin.

Each represented a different extreme of beauty.

Jian Xinlin represented the peak of elegance and graceful beauty.

Bai Lanqin represented the peak of heroic and righteous beauty.

Mei Sha, from the Thousand Desire Pavilion, could be defined as the epitome of bewitchment.

Zhuo Shuyun was the epitome of scholarly and classical beauty.

Finally, Xuanyuan Meilin, the most beautiful royal princess, carried herself with solemnity and an overbearing presence.

The only two missing at the table Yasenia sat were Mei Sha and Xuanyuan Meilin. The rest were present and sitting together with Yasenia. Bai Lanqin glanced at Qinqin with curiosity in her gorgeous upright gaze. "...I am sincerely honest. If I saw Madam Dravory, I would never be able to approach first."

Shang Qinqin laughed and spoke. "Well, I was kidnapped by her."

This time, even Jian Xinlin stopped speaking and looked at Yasenia oddly. Yasenia laughed and used her dragon tail to bonk Qinqin’s head. "Explain things properly."

Qinqin rubbed the top of her head and pouted. "What, it is the truth! You came one day, robbed me, and when we met again, you kidnapped me!"

Yasenia rolled her attractive golden-slit eyes. "Don’t let her nonsense get to you. The first time we met was because, when I was flying as a dragon, this girl decided to poke me with her Spiritual Sense. I just went and asked to be compensated."

Zhuo Shuyun, who had been silent, smiled and spread her fan. "That’s quite rude."

Yasenia looked her way with a chuckle. "Isn’t that right? Then, you won’t believe it. Instead of going her way, this girl decided to come to my nest and bother me. At that point, I decided to teach her a lesson, so I dragged her to my nest and confined her there for a while." ℯℯ𝑙.

The girls on the table laughed, and even some nearby young ladies who had been unable to tear their gaze away from Yasenia chuckled. Shang Qinqin harrumphed. "You say that, but there is a reason! Who would be able to not get curious after seeing your dragon form? You are so large that your figure could probably hide the royal palace under your shadow!"

Zhuo Shuyun raised her willowy eyebrow. "Are you not exaggerating? Even the largest creature I’ve ever seen, which was a kraken-type being, was not longer than a few mountains stacked together. I had to guess; it was around 40 kilometers long, including the tentacles."

Qinqin smiled a touch disdainfully. "Forty? That thing is nothing but a squid that Yasenia can chomp in three bites! Her dragon form is so large that an average mountain might not even reach over her ankles!"

"Alright, now you are exaggerating. There are mountains larger than I."

Qinqin raised her eyebrow. "Are there? Unless you are speaking about those Sky Peaks, which can’t really be considered mountains since they soar up for hundreds of kilometers, you are wrong!"

"Oh?" Yasenia blinked. "You name them differently?"

Zhuo Shuyun smiled and explained. "After a mountain surpasses 50 kilometers in height, we usually call them Sky Peaks instead. After all, calling a mountain something that soars up for about a kilometer, and another that soars for over 1,000 kilometers is just... not practical."

Yasenia hummed and looked at Tatyana. "Should we do the same from now on?"

Tatyana glanced at Yasenia, and her voice finally reached them for the first time. "You can do that if you want. I prefer simplicity in my life. If it is something that pokes out of the ground, a mountain is enough to describe it."

Yasenia laughed softly. "Alright. Still, I do find it quite practical, so I might use it if I recall."

Tatyana shook her head. "Do as you please."

Jian Xinlin glanced back and forth and asked, curious. "I wanted to ask, but since I heard some rumors... What is your relationship with this Lady?"

Yasenia smiled and hugged Tatyana with her tail. "She is... quite a few things for me. A teacher, family, but... she is my lover above all else."

Tatyana’s indifferent face gained a faint but clearly delighted smile. The others in the table were surprised, while some Young Ladies nearby gasped.

Taking this as a clue, the First Princess finally managed to intervene in the conversation. Well, it was her lackeys who spoke up.

"Quite dirty."

Yasenia raised her eyebrow, and everyone turned to look at the woman who spoke. That woman was slightly older than everyone else present, having the dignity of an old madam but still looking like a well-maintained 50-year-old woman.

"People usually say that grace is gained as we age... It seems that such a saying doesn’t apply to this madam."

Some people stiffened at Yasenia’s sudden comment, and Jian Xinlin whispered. "Madam Yasenia, be careful. That madam is Madam Ye. Their family is an expert in dark arts, and they have connections with the Demon Realm. Even then, they are a family with deep influence and are respected."

Yasenia smiled, not lowering her tone. "I naturally know. I haven’t come here without first knowing each and every single person on the invitation list. After all, I have not been having good relationships with the Imperial Family other than His Majesty, the Dragon of the Empire."

The First Princess bristled. "Lies!"

Yasenia looked her way with a smile. "How about asking Her Majesty, the Phoenix of the Empire? She knows perfectly whether my words are truthful or not."

The First Princess was about to speak when Madam Ye glanced Yasenia’s way. "This is why young people are rash. Even if you were appreciated by His Majesty as you speak, would you or his child be of more importance? You have not only committed the sin of loving and entering a relationship with another woman, you even dare to act presumptuously in front of the Imperial Family. Condemning you as you are would not be too much."

The people around changed their expressions, but Yasenia was not nervous. Instead, her attractive and alluring lips arched mockingly. "Bold of you, Madam Ye, to think that a Noble Family is now presumptuously attempting to predict His Majesty’s mind. I think that if he hears about how well Madam Ye knows him, His Majesty will be delighted."

The Imperial Family was already somewhat on edge due to all the noble families, supreme sects, and the like. If Madam Ye overstepped, it was enough cause to be "investigated," which, to put it bluntly, would give the Imperial Family an excuse to strip their family bare.

So, Yasenia’s words beautifully shielded her own claim while making Madam Ye’s sentence out of place and presumptuous. Madam Ye didn’t panic at this. She had been mingling among others for who knows how long.

"You speak well without knowing anything. While the mind of His Majesty is indeed boundless, everyone knows of his filial piety and love for his family. His Majesty is magnanimous and takes care of his family. Your words, which make you look down on an Imperial Descendant, are the ones in the wrong."

Yasenia, though, had a card Madam Ye couldn’t start to guess, even if Yasenia gave her 1,000 attempts. "Indeed. His Majesty is loyal toward his family. This is well known. Nevertheless... You speak as if I had spoken out of ignorance. When Her Majesty, the Phoenix of the Empire, talked to me as you have, His Majesty was magnanimous enough to defend this little girl. Of course, the reasoning is a private matter and nothing deeper than collaboration."

One thing was defending oneself; another was creating a rumor that she was sleeping with the emperor. So, Yasenia added the last sentence to clarify.

Even then, Yasenia’s words caused Madam Ye’s face to harden for a moment. If, as Yasenia said, she already had a disagreement with the Empress, and instead of defending the Empress, the Emperor stood on Yasenia’s side, her connection with him was by no means normal.

"Regardless... Madam Ye. Our discussion is derailing from the true purpose, is it not? You rudely called me out because of a healthy relationship with my rightfully wedded wife. I do admit our connection is not common. Nevertheless, is it really something to hold in such deep contempt? You, who know nothing about us, are behaving quite disgracefully."

Madam Ye’s lips imperceptibly twitched up. ’Aha. Stupid young girl, she already had me, but she now wants to dig her own grave? Since you are so eager, I’ll put you in that beautiful coffin you dug yourself.’

"You speak as if a relationship that will never bear any fruit is something that a noble family should do. If you were a commoner, such a relationship is up to the individual. I do agree that love can transcend most boundaries. Nevertheless, we, noble families, need to continue the bloodline. What will you do when an heir is needed? Find a random man and have a child with him? That’s the behavior of a street prostitute."

Yasenia, though, smiled coldly. "That is the case. I do agree that noble bloodlines have a duty to continue our specialness."

In a way, a noble bloodline was not just an imaginative term. After all, constitution and bloodline were mostly hereditary. People regarded someone as having a noble bloodline because their children usually had incredibly pure, high-level bloodlines.

"...Nevertheless, you who don’t understand Dragons have overstepped this time. I already have plenty of children, and there are three more on the way. All my children with my lovers. Tatyana here, for instance, has already given birth to one of my precious children."

Everyone present froze, and Madam Ye’s smile stiffened for a moment. Yasenia smiled coldly at her. "Madam Ye. You overstepped. I would like to ask you to formally ask for forgiveness, as you’ve been incredibly rude and speaking without knowledge."

Madam Ye’s eyes couldn’t help but go down, but Yasenia moved her tail in front of their eyes, and then opened the central part for just a second. As if to say: "I am a normal woman, but my tail is slightly special."
