Chapter 1693: Chapter 1693. Many Things to Explore!

Qinqin arrived shortly after, and together with Evelyn, they dealt with the guests without problems. Yasenia commented on a few things she could infer through Spiritual Sense, but outwardly, she didn’t say much. She only made small talk with those who spoke to her.

"Good job, both of you."

Evelyn and Qinqin smiled, sitting on either side of her. Qinqin’s shamelessness at doing exactly as Evelyn did was something Yasenia noticed but allowed to slip. Evelyn looked at Qinqin hugging Yasenia’s arm, and looking at the modest breasts, she nodded. "Perhaps it is not that bad to have a sister with similarities."

Qinqin, completely misunderstanding her, smiled happily. "Hehe. Right! We are both quite good at doing business and such."

Evelyn looked at her for a second and then smiled a touch awkwardly. "R-Right. I was totally referring to that."

Yasenia burst into laughter. "You are so silly, Dear. Come here."

Evelyn raised her head, receiving Yasenia’s kiss with happy, squinted eyes. When Yasenia turned to look at Qinqin, the girl blinked and pouted her lips as well. Our dragoness deadpanned and bonked her head with her tail.

"I can allow you to hug my arm and such, but did you really think you were in a position to accept my kisses!"

The gentle bonk caused the puckering lips to transform into a big pout. Yasenia found her somewhat cute and laughed. "Here, eat this."

She pressed a strawberry chocolate stick and fitted it between her pouty lips. Qinqin munched once, and her eyes lit up, transforming into a hamster as she munched away with puffed cheeks. ’Yummy! Yummy!’

"I’ve heard the summary from the maids, but I would like to hear it from you as well. From what I understand, we’ve been focusing on creating connections, right?"

Evelyn leaned against Yasenia’s side, placing her arm around her waist and resting her head on her shoulder. This way, Yasenia’s massive breast would press against her chest. ’Soft pillow~.’

"It is as you said. There are too many families, but the important ones are not many. Qinqin already told us about them when we arrived, remember?"

Yasenia repeated. "1 Empire, 8 Supreme Sects, 4 Merchant Families, 12 Noble Families."

Qinqin showed Yasenia a list of the names and such. "These are their names or surnames. Some overlap phonetically, but they are different when written. Well, it is not a big problem."

Yasenia scanned the names and sighed softly. "This feels... troublesome."

It wasn’t that Yasenia was not accustomed to dealing with complex power networks. However, because of Demon and Divine influence, you couldn’t really relax. She asked about that soon enough.

Qinqin chuckled. "Demons and Divines do not have that much influence in Central City. As I mentioned before, the Imperial Family is strong enough to threaten them to a certain extent."

"Mhm. So, our biggest problem is the Empress, then."

Both girls smiled awkwardly. "Well... She really is our biggest immediate problem. Expecting her to calm down after what happened is not a wise choice."

Yasenia blinked and pondered. "Ah. What about the First Princess? I was meant to meet with her a week after I arrived, but it has been a few months, right?"

Evelyn pinched Yasenia’s soft side flesh, causing the dragoness to flinch sideways. "D-Dear?"

The exotic purple eyes of the electric-blue-haired woman squinted. "She has been quite antagonistic because of that. She even spread it around that you didn’t welcome her when she arrived."

Yasenia was stunned. "She is that unreasonable? Didn’t you tell her that I was in the middle of an enlightenment or something?"

Evelyn nodded. "We spread that news the very day you arrived and rushed toward the cultivation room without a word. We knew that you would not leave soon, so we made it known and even sent a letter to the palace through the connection the Emperor gave us."

Yasenia frowned and asked. "When is the next social meeting we had planned? I need to show my face soon, so that would be a perfect chance."

A pondering look appeared on Evelyn’s face, while Qinqin poked Yasenia’s arm. "Are you sure? It is not easy to attend social parties."

It wasn’t Yasenia but Evelyn who answered with a chuckle. "You misunderstood my concern, Qinqin. Yasenia is probably better than you and me at socializing and political maneuvering. What I am worried about is that our family’s influence is about to focus on a Yasenia-centered one. It will be quite annoying receiving and rejecting the love letters and many other similar items we will be receiving from now on."

Qinqin blinked, confused. While Yasenia had been acting normally, Qinqin still had their first meeting quite fresh in her mind. Back then, Yasenia was acting silly and parading like a tyrant and unreasonable dragon blinded by treasures. So, in her mind, Yasenia was not too sharp.

She never thought of Yasenia as someone with low intelligence. Still, she did label her as somewhat impulsive.

Yasenia noticed Qinqin’s gaze, and a trace of amusement flashed in her golden-slit eyes. Since Qinqin had long entered Yasenia’s circle, her senses worked as they would with her maids or lovers.

Therefore, she instantly understood what Qinqin was thinking. She didn’t clarify anything, though. ’It is funnier this way, haha.’

Seeing the slight mischievous smirk on Yasenia’s seductive lips, Evelyn decided to not explain. ’Well, let our silly dragoness have some fun.’

"So... Anything fun beyond the boring talk?"

Qinqin smiled, as if she had expected it, while Evelyn laughed at the deepening but small misunderstanding. "There are some interesting events. Tournaments don’t seem to be a thing here, but in turn, there are competition zones. In those places, people compete to see how long someone can go without being beaten by same-ranked professionals. There are also challenges that accept everyone."

"Hm? Explain."

Evelyn took an Image Jade and showed it to Yasenia. "This giant plaza is the Alchemy Plaza." She zoomed in on one side and pointed at a wooden board with many papers stuck to it. "You can see on this board here: challenges, requests, records, and many other things."

Yasenia read them and rubbed her chin. "Record holder in all challenges is Zen Yichuan: 539 consecutive victories against similar or superior alchemists... Zen... Zen?"

A smirk appeared on Evelyn’s lips. "Yes. That Young Master you caused an... accident on during our visit to the Shang Family is from this family. Zen Yichuan is the best alchemy expert in the Central City, and probably in the Central Continent as a whole."

"Oho," Yasenia asked. "Has Honey challenged him?"

Evelyn shook her head. "Kali said that it would be somewhat close. It seems that this world’s top experts are similar to us in professional expertise. Only Angel feels confident in the formation section. The rest of us are somewhat hesitant."

Yasenia was surprised. Her dears were absolute monstrous talents in terms of professional expertise. For them to have found their matches... Yasenia was quite happy. "Well, make it your objective to rank first in each of your respective tables."

"Alright. We’ll do so. However, you need to challenge the best Spiritual Chef as well!"

Yasenia laughed at Evelyn’s petty condition. "Alright, alright. I will do so."

Qinqin spoke from the side, her voice certain. "Yasenia will win for sure! I’ve never tasted food as delicious as hers!"

"Thank you for your vote of confidence, Qinqin."

Qinqin giggled happily. "Hehe. Also, if you want to challenge people, you can go to the Bloodsoaked Arena. You have to be careful, though. Killing in this arena won’t count as a crime."

Yasenia blinked as she glanced at the image Qinqin showed her. It was a massive structure with several open arenas with stands. The whole thing covered several hundred thousand square kilometers. Even in this gigantic city, it was a visible zone when viewed from above.

A touch of interest flashed in Yasenia’s eyes. "Is there some kind of reward for fighting here?"

Qinqin nodded. "You gain [Murder Points] you can exchange for treasures. When someone is killed in the arena, everything they own, except what was bet on the duel, falls into the hands of the arena. So, they are quite rich even when compared to our Shang family or any of the other three merchant families."

"It doesn’t belong to a noble family?"

Yasenia was quite sure that something of this magnitude would belong to an important family. Qinqin denied her thoughts. "Not at all. This is an individual place that appeared several tens of thousands of years ago. It was created by an unknown person, but their influence was enough to make it unstoppable. Once it reached a certain level of popularity, the [Bloodsoaked Arena] became unshakable. Nowadays, it is a zone that everyone takes for granted."

Yasenia looked at it for a second longer than usual, a trace of suspicion flashing in her eyes. Qinqin, as if knowing what Yasenia was thinking, laughed. "Not even the Imperial Family has discovered anything odd about it. So try not to poke your nose in this place’s business. Many who did disappeared."

Those words only made Yasenia more curious. However, it was not her problem. Even if it turned out to be some kind of trap or evil place, Yasenia would silently leave for the Dravory Dragon Valley and wash her hands of any trouble!

"Alright. Social parties, new deals, spiritual profession competition zones, and a strange arena where killing is permitted, and nobody suspects it. Anything else?"

Evelyn and Qinqin laughed. Evelyn shook her head. "Your last words are... Haha. Well, right, it’s just an unsuspicious arena. Not our problem, hahaha."

Qinqin giggled and spoke. "This is probably what you will like the most. There are two ancient tombs and one secret realm opening in less than five years. Their opening times overlap, though. So, we will only be able to choose one... or separate and choose all of them."

Our dragoness instantly struck down that idea. "I don’t mind you girls working on your own around the city. It is dangerous, but there is a semblance of rules. However, those places are straight up lawless. If we go, we go together as one."

The two girls nodded, agreeing with her assessment. "Are all of them for Transcendence Realm cultivators?"

Qinqin hummed. "Yes. The tombs don’t really have restrictions, but they are the most dangerous. Supreme experts left these tombs behind, and the traps inside can be lethal. On the other hand, the Secret Realm is a public legacy realm where you can enter and get different treasures by challenging different trials. Depending on how you do, you get better rewards. However, these trials have a limit on participants each time they open. So, people fight for them quite fiercely."

Yasenia hummed with interest. ’So many things to do. Evil Heart, Empress, Social Gatherings, new Secret Realms, new competitions... Ah. I can’t wait!’
