Chapter 1596. Convergence of the Celestial Bodies.
Chapter 1596: Chapter 1596. Convergence of the Celestial Bodies.
"[Death Dunes]... Quite a simple yet impactful name."
Yasenia hummed after she read the information within the jade. Then, she passed the jade to her lovers for them to read. Tatyana had already read it on the way, so she glanced at Yasenia and asked. "What are you going to do?"
Yasenia tilted her head. "Since we are here, we should go, right?"
Tatyana spoke softly. "Do not underestimate Forbidden Zones. They are not named like that randomly. Most of the time, a Forbidden Zone is an area created with threat levels beyond the Heavenly Layer where it is located. That’s why they are called Forbidden Zones, and even top-tier powerhouses die. The [Living Forest] back in the Sky Continent is one of such places."
"Living forest..." Yasenia glanced at Kali. "Honey went there in the past, right?"
Kali blinked and smiled, her flawless facial features softening in remembrance. "I did... I went thinking I would become a quick meal and be done with it. Who knew that I got to discover my affinities with parasites?"
Tatyana couldn’t help but look at Kali with a bit of pity. "Being pushed until you choose a place even I would hesitate to go inside as your death place... Capturing Alyssa and her entire family back then was not a loss at all."
While Tatyana’s affection for Yasenia’s lovers could only be considered "mild," that didn’t mean she didn’t care about them. After all, if something happened to them, Yasenia would be devastated for a long while.
Kali laughed, her eyes moving to Yasenia’s shadow. There, Sarah and Alyssa, both undead, were silently guarding at all times. "Well, she got a good deal. Now, her strength has reached levels she would’ve most likely never reached in a lifetime."
Evelyn couldn’t help but shudder. "If the price of gaining such power is becoming Tatyana’s undead, I will hard pass now."
Tatyana clicked her tongue. "Eternal life at the cost of eternal servitude, is that such a bad deal?"
Evelyn’s lips twitched. "Is it not?"
Yasenia chuckled and looked at the rest. "So, what do you think? Is it worth the risk? If you girls are against it, we can proceed and leave this Heavenly Layer. There isn’t really anything else to do here."
Kali commented, leaning back. "If we are going there, we can’t take Feixue with us. It’s too dangerous."
Yasenia nodded. "We will leave her behind. I will also leave 20 maids to take care of unforeseen events."
Andrea commented. "What about our baby boy? If it starts hatching within the Forbidden Zone, isn’t it too dangerous?"
Yasenia paused, her eyes looking down at the large egg squeezed in her embrace. Giving it a kiss, Yasenia hesitated. "Perhaps you are right..."
Angel blinked and spoke, looking at Yasenia. "Then, we can just wait and then go inside."
Yasenia sighed. "The thing is, this boy can take over 40 years to hatch if he is slow."
Angel shrugged. "Does it matter? We are not in a rush, are we?"
Yasenia frowned. "We... are." Her eyes turned toward Tatyana as she spoke. "We have to become stronger quickly, and lingering around for such a long time without going into Secret Realms or other places with treasures is too time-wasting. Not to mention, the energy here is just bad compared to any random location in a Higher Heaven."
Those words were the truth, so the girls became silent. Evelyn asked, curious. "Why are we so... hell-bent on entering this Forbidden Zone either way? Can’t we just go to another Forbidden Zone in another place?"
Yasenia chuckled. "It is because it is here, in one of, if not the strongest world in this Heavenly Layer, that this Forbidden Zone might have some special treasures."
Evelyn clicked her tongue at the egg in Yasenia’s arms. "Already causing trouble, and he has not even hatched."
Yasenia flicked a sugar cube, smashing it against Evelyn’s forehead. "Don’t look at my baby boy like that."
Evelyn, bewildered, glanced at Yasenia. "You are already taking this boy’s side before he has even hatched? No, this is wrong! I am going to get jealous for real!"
Andrea sighed. "We’ll have to be careful, Yasenia might pamper him too much."
Yasenia humphed. "So what if I pamper him?"
Cecile looked at Yasenia and spoke softly. "It is rare for us to have boys. Since they are so rare, won’t it be best to raise him properly and not overly pamper him? What if he becomes one of those Young Masters you hate?"
Yasenia stiffened.
The girls glanced at Cecile and almost applauded. ’What a ruthless hit!’
They saw quite clearly in her expression how the dragoness struggled between her wish to pamper the boy rotten and her desire not to raise him wrong. Tatyana sighed. "I know that feeling really well."
She had also thought of just pampering Yasenia rotten while raising her. However, at the thought of her future lover being an arrogant Young Miss, such thoughts puffed out like smoke on a windy day.
Finally, Yasenia pouted, her delicious-looking lips sticking out enough to perch something on them while her cheeks puffed to their maximum inflation level. "...Alright."
The girls clutched their hearts. ’Pouting Yasenia is too cute!’
So, after discussing it together, they chose to wait for ten years here. If Yasenia’s baby boy has not hatched by then, they will leave. If he did hatch, then Yasenia and the girls would nurse him for a few years before diving into the [Death Dune Forbidden Zone].
With that in mind, a peaceful time began as they bought the vacated house from the family of the girl they had killed. During this time, Yasenia managed to push through her copies and reach new understandings.
Since they didn’t really go out much, they didn’t get acquainted with nearby families. Those stewards and maids who came from other top families to greet them were also waved away.
Of course, this offended some people, but all who dared to cause trouble were swiftly dealt with by the maids. Doriel and the other assassin maids had quite a happy time in this city, being able to use their abilities quite often.
Yasenia sat cross-legged, her eyes closed. She had been in this position for a few months already. Clearly, she was about to have an epiphany of sorts, so the girls made sure that no one bothered her.
What Yasenia was practicing was her Spiritual Cultivation Technique, [Convergence of the Celestial Bodies]. During her mortal cultivation years, it was this technique’s skills that helped her the most.
Be it [Sunrise], [Celestial Coat], [Starry Sky], [Day and Night Cycle], and the others, they were skills that had formed part of Yasenia’s attack kit since her very first step in her cultivation path. Even when Yasenia usually didn’t like to rely on pre-created skills, she admitted that without them, many of her challenges would’ve ended in failure.
There was always a nice balance between using previously created techniques and learning them, and only using techniques you created yourself.
For instance, most cultivators didn’t even have the luxury of the second path because creating new techniques that could rival pre-existing ones required a talent level that was stupidly high.
To refresh the memory, Yasenia’s Spiritual Path Cultivation Technique, [Convergence of the Celestial Bodies], was divided into five steps.
The first three steps were swiftly understood by Yasenia by the time she was in the Unification Realm. These three realms were
Presence of Celestial Bodies:
Presence of the Sun Presence of the Moon Presence of the stars
Absorption of Celestial Light:
Absorption of Sunlight Absorption of Moonlight Absorption of Starlight
Connection with Celestial Bodies:
Connection with the Sun Connection with the Moon Connection with the Stars
Yasenia comprehended them deeply and even acquired and mastered the skills in each realm. Now, the next two realms were [Celestial Bodies and Spirit as One] and [Celestial Bodies within my Hand].
Within each of these two realms, there was a Sun, Moon, and Star section. In the [Celestial Bodies and Spirit as One], there was [Spirit and the Sun/Moon/Stars as One].
Even then, while Yasenia knew about it, this had been an elusive realm that had been slipping from her comprehension for well over a century. It was probably the thing that had stumped Yasenia for the longest time.
Now, Yasenia was starting to understand how to complete [Spirit And The Sun As One]!
’Spirit... Spirit is the mix of Body and Soul. It is the source of our elemental powers, as well as the source of spiritual energy. This energy can be found everywhere, and it comes from Heavenly energy, which encompasses all types of energy.’
As she pondered, Yasenia frowned deeply. ’There is something missing still.’
After acquiring her Celestial Energy, communicating with her individual elements has not been a priority. While she didn’t stop because of her many skills that used single-attributed spirit energy, Yasenia knew that she had not trained in it for much time.
Even then, Yasenia’s monstrous comprehension abilities were enough to push Yasenia to a level of someone far beyond her age. Her closed eyes opened slowly, revealing a hazy and confused pair of golden slit eyes.
"Should I... go into a star?"
Sun and Star, the difference between them was nothing more than proximity. The closest star to one would always be the "sun," while all other stars would become "stars".
Moreover, these "Suns" were tightly linked to the planet and Heavenly Dao, creating 24-hour day cycles on most planets despite their size and distance. It was something that went far beyond normal understanding.
So, Yasenia raised her head. Since—to practice better—Yasenia was in an open-ceiling cultivation room, she could gaze straight at the Sun. With her powerful gaze, there was no pain even when looking straight at it.
"Should I... dive inside?"
To understand Spirit and the Sun as one, Yasenia felt that she needed to truly understand what a close-proximity star was. "I’ll be right back."
With those words, Yasenia soared to the sky and flew toward the sun. Midway there, Yasenia transformed into her giant dragon form, accelerating further and transforming into a blue beam of light.
Stars were powerful celestial bodies, and each one had a distinct realm of strength. However, for the current Yasenia, an average star would not be able to damage her much.
"This Sun is quite... strong." Her skin tingled faintly as she approached, and once close, Yasenia accelerated further and dove inside with the intent of plunging to the core.
