‘As a Protector of the Profound Wind Pavilion, when have I ever been humiliated like this?’

‘Let alone by the Vermilion Bird Tribe, a mere third-rate power.’

‘Every time I’ve encountered a minor power like this, I didn’t even have to reveal my Primordial Mansion Realm cultivation. Just the title of Profound Wind Pavilion Protector was enough to draw countless reverent gazes.’

‘They were all terrified of offending me and bringing disaster upon themselves for no reason.’

‘But as the saying goes, you can only walk the riverbank so many times before your shoes get wet.’

‘This was the first time he’d ever been tripped up by such a small power, and beaten so miserably at that!’

“You just wait!”

“When the Young Master gets here, I’ll make you kneel, kowtow, and beg for my forgiveness!”

The middle-aged man spoke with a raspy voice. He had used a unique Secret Technique of the Profound Wind Pavilion to send a distress signal to their Young Master, who was far away.

“I await his grand arrival.”

Ye Chen smiled.

…

Far away, atop an inn, the Profound Wind Pavilion’s Young Master, Liu Yifeng, seemed to sense something. He frowned and raised his eyes to the distant horizon.

It was the Profound Wind Pavilion’s special Secret Technique for calling for help. Once sent, any Profound Wind Pavilion Cultivator within a ten-kilometer radius would be able to sense it.

‘Is that the Fifth Protector?’

‘I remember sending him to the Vermilion Bird Tribe to handle things, but how…’

‘Even he needs to call for help?’

Liu Yifeng’s long eyebrows knitted together, a flicker of impatience in his heart.

He was, after all, currently awaiting the arrival of a very important person, and he had already made extensive preparations to welcome them here.

The important figure had not yet arrived, but now he had to leave in a hurry. He was quite unwilling to do so.

By Liu Yifeng’s side were two other Protector-level figures.

They were the Third and Fourth Protectors of the Profound Wind Pavilion!

“Young Master Liu, my apologies for the wait.”

Just then, a white-haired old man suddenly appeared before Liu Yifeng.

The two Protectors’ gazes instantly sharpened as they looked warily at the newcomer.

Liu Yifeng, however, showed a look of pleasant surprise. “Sir, you’ve arrived.”

“This should be your Profound Wind Pavilion’s distress signal, I presume?”

“Does Young Master Liu not plan to go take a look?”

The old man stroked his beard and spoke unhurriedly.

The two Protectors beside Liu Yifeng were stunned. They never would have imagined that the old man before them had actually sensed the power of the Secret Technique being transmitted.

But Liu Yifeng didn’t find it strange at all.

The reason was simple: this old man was a Great Power who had stepped into the Divinity Transformation Realm!

With the old man’s abilities, his Divine Soul was powerful enough to lock down the entire area around the inn. No matter what arcane power was transmitted here, he would be the first to perceive it.

“I…” Liu Yifeng hesitated.

He was here specifically to welcome this old man, so how could he be willing to be delayed by other matters?

“It’s no great trouble. I will simply accompany you.”

“I can afford to waste a little time.”

The old man spoke unhurriedly.

Hearing this, Liu Yifeng’s expression immediately lit up with joy.

‘A man of his status is actually willing to go with me!’

‘This undoubtedly means he holds me in high regard.’

“Then I must trouble you, Sir.”

In the end, the group left the inn and headed toward the Vermilion Bird Tribe.

Before long, Liu Yifeng and his entourage appeared in the tribe.

The tribal Cultivators along the way saw the strangers arrive and were about to stop them.

But the two Protectors both unleashed the aura of their Primordial Mansion Realm Spiritual Power. A terrifying pressure swept out in all directions, causing the faces of the Vermilion Bird Tribe guards to turn pale as they staggered back.

“Hmph!”

“You blind fools, don’t come seeking your own deaths!”

Liu Yifeng couldn’t help but sneer at the sight.

“Fifth Protector, where are you?”

“Your Young Master has come to save you!”

Liu Yifeng called out in a loud voice.

The white-haired old man followed behind him, striding forward.

“Young Master?”

“You… you’re finally here!”

In the distance, the Profound Wind Pavilion’s Fifth Protector sounded very excited.

At that moment, he was still being pinned under Ye Chen’s foot.

But after hearing Liu Yifeng’s voice, he completely forgot all his humiliation and pain. A cruel light flashed through his eyes.

‘With the Young Master here, let’s see how arrogant you can be now!’

‘I’m going to break every single bone in your body!’

His heart seethed with murderous intent, wishing he could torture Ye Chen to death on the spot.

“So he’s the Young Master of your Profound Wind Pavilion? And the source of your… confidence?”

Ye Chen looked at the newcomers with great interest.

As for the other members of the Vermilion Bird Tribe, they couldn’t remain as calm and composed as he was. They all wore tense expressions, watching the arrivals with utmost vigilance.

“Young Master, you’re here!”

Lin Ruowei immediately stepped forward to greet him, her smile like a blooming flower.

“What is going on here?”

Liu Yifeng ignored Lin Ruowei, his expression dark as he stared at the Fifth Protector pinned under Ye Chen’s foot.

‘This was a blatant insult to the Profound Wind Pavilion!’

“Young Master, save me!” the Fifth Protector managed to say with difficulty.

Even with Liu Yifeng on the scene, Ye Chen remained fearless, keeping his foot firmly on the Fifth Protector’s head without the slightest intention of letting up.

This scene undoubtedly stirred Liu Yifeng’s killing intent!

‘Regardless of what led to this, the youth’s actions alone were enough for Liu Yifeng to put him on his kill list!’

“Who is this kid?” Liu Yifeng asked.

“Young Master, he is my older sister’s husband. He joined forces with her to deal with me. The reason I crushed the Token and sent the distress signal was because of this.”

Lin Ruowei answered in a composed manner.

“Didn’t you say your sister’s husband was a good-for-nothing?”

“You can’t even handle a single good-for-nothing?”

Liu Yifeng found it hard to believe.

“Well…” Lin Ruowei’s expression changed slightly, and she gave a bitter smile. “The situation has changed. His skills… they aren’t as simple as we thought.”

“What a bunch of useless trash!”

Liu Yifeng snorted with disdain. His words were not only directed at Lin Ruowei but also at the Fifth Protector currently under Ye Chen’s foot.

Lin Ruowei’s expression shifted several times, but she didn’t dare to retort. She could only lower her head respectfully and remain silent.

“Kid, I’ll give you three seconds. Let him go now, or else…” Liu Yifeng couldn’t be bothered to say more. He shot a sideways glance at Ye Chen, his voice chillingly cold.

“Or else what?”

Ye Chen wore a faint smile, seemingly paying Liu Yifeng no mind at all as he cut him off.

Liu Yifeng’s face darkened. “Or else you will die!”

“You’re welcome to try,” Ye Chen said flatly.

“You said it yourself!”

“Since you’re looking for death, don’t blame me for what happens next!”

Liu Yifeng frowned. “You two, get…”

However, before Liu Yifeng could finish his sentence, Ye Chen moved first.

He extended his hands and threw a punch at each of the two Protectors beside Liu Yifeng.

The two Protectors coughed up blood and stumbled backward, severely wounded on the spot!

“Care to continue?” Ye Chen smiled faintly as he looked at Liu Yifeng.
