Having Wives And Raising Children Levels Me Up

Chapter 77. Making Breakfast.

Chapter 77: 77. Making Breakfast.

Of course, it was strange for this to happen twice in a row, and rightfully so as well.

After all, Rowena had known Sylvie for years now, and in all that time she had known the little fairy, never once had the little fairy gone a single morning without flitting over to wake her with some small, wordless greeting.

But now, it had happened twice in a row, and it was definitely no longer a coincidence.

*Sighs*

Rowena exhaled as her mind drifted almost involuntarily back to the time she had noticed the maids in the garden, gathered excitedly around that strange patch of soil.

Then she recalled seeing the unfamiliar, lumpy, brown-skinned vegetables piled high where there had only been freshly turned soil that very morning.

The maids had gathered the vegetables by Austin’s orders, but when Rowena asked the maids what those vegetables were, even they had no idea.

The maids only mentioned seeing Austin out there the day before, digging up the soil himself, but none of them had asked him what he was doing at the time.

At first they thought he was looking for something, but it turned out he was actually planting something before watering it.

And then when he was done with that, Austin sprinkled what looked like fine blue dust over the whole patch before walking away.

Recalling all of this the maid had told her, the beautiful Countess still couldn’t make sense of what she had heard.

To be honest, even now she still couldn’t understand how it was remotely possible for so many vegetables to have grown so fast in a single day.

But since it hadn’t made sense to her yesterday, Rowena had gone straight to Austin’s room the night before in need of some explanation, but Austin had simply waved her off with his grin whilst telling her to go back to her room to rest, promising that all her questions would be answered the next day.

At first, Rowena didn’t want to accept that, but she reluctantly agreed and had returned to her room last night without fully comprehending how Austin had increased the growth rate of such plants to yield the vegetables as quickly as they had.

But even when she had returned to her room last night hoping Sylvie could give her some answers, the cute little fairy had simply pressed her tiny fingers to her lips before giggling and vanishing straight into the spirit realm.

*Sighs*

Recalling it all made her sigh once more as she placed her palm on her face before finally swinging her legs out of bed.

"Oh well, there’s no use lying here stewing over it." Rowena muttered to herself in the empty room before rising to begin her usual morning routine.

Rowena quickly took her bath before dressing in something simple rather than her usual formal attire.

Then she stepped out into the corridor with the intention of marching straight to Austin’s bedroom for those explanations he had promised her.

However, Rowena didn’t even get that far before noticing two female maids hurrying down the hallway whilst giggling to each other.

They were practically skipping in their haste to reach wherever they were headed, and this certainly piqued Rowena’s interest, so she decided to find out what had made her maids so excited in the morning.

And so, with that decided, Rowena followed the two maids toward what was unmistakably the direction of the kitchen.

But before she rounded the corner leading to the kitchen, Rowena could already perceive the scent of something sweet permeating the air.

She hadn’t even reached the kitchen yet, but the smell was more than enough to tell her just how delicious whatever was being made was going to be, and before she knew it, her steps had quickened on their own.

And by the time she reached the kitchen entrance, Rowena was stunned to see around five of her elven maids already gathered there.

They were clustered together, giggling and stealing glances through the open doorway at whatever was happening inside.

"What in the world is going on here?" Rowena muttered softly, and one of the maids turned at the sound of her voice.

The moment she noticed Rowena’s presence, the maid instantly dipped into a hasty bow, and the remaining female maids all followed suit in a heartbeat before parting way for their Countess to step into the kitchen.

And she did exactly that.

Rowena stepped past the maids and into the kitchen, and the first thing she saw was Austin, standing with his sleeves rolled up, grinning whilst chopping something on the counter with swift, confident strokes.

Standing next to him was the mansion’s head chef.

She was a female dark elf who looked equally exhausted and thrilled to be working next to Austin.

There were even beads of sweat on her forehead as she scrambled to keep pace with whatever Austin was instructing her to do.

But Austin and the head chef weren’t the only ones in the kitchen, because aside from them, two figures could also be seen resting on a nearby counter.

Both had their backs turned to the doorway, and they were none other than Nora and Tatiana.

Neither of them had noticed her presence yet, because they were already transfixed by the sight in front of them, and Rowena could already see their tails from where she stood, and it seemed like their tails were both swaying slowly from side to side in a matching rhythm.

Of course , they were still watching Austin, but Austin glanced up.

Then he spotted Rowena, and he swiftly waved her over with the back of his wrist.

"Oh, Rowena! You’re awake?! Perfect timing. Come, sit." Austin urged her to come in, but neither Nora nor Tatiana turned their heads to look at Rowena.

Instead, they simply remained as they were, with their eyes still locked on the food being cooked in front of them.

Meanwhile, seeing that Rowena was still standing in the doorway, Austin called out again. "Come closer, Rowena, don’t be shy. Or aren’t you hungry?"
