Harry Returning from Hogwarts Legacy
Chapter 940 - 382: Vivi’s Confession
Chapter 940: Chapter 382: Vivi’s Confession
"Look at the face of Professor Snape." Vivi pointed at Snape standing there.
Harry looked over and noticed Snape’s expression was a bit unpleasant.
"I bet," Vivi said with a cheerful grin, "Professor Snape has been planning for this moment to come for a long time, but didn’t expect Aunt Penny to mess it up."
"Really?" Harry looked up.
"Of course." Vivi said confidently, "Let’s go and see what Lily and Penny are talking about."
They walked up, but the scene changed again.
Harry found himself and Vivi now in a living room.
On the sofa, a middle-aged man was reading a newspaper, and not far away, there was a woman knitting.
Lily and Penny came in from outside the door, and Penny shouted loudly, "Dad, Mom, we met a strange person today—"
"Looks like these should be your grandparents." Vivi said, observing the Muggle couple.
"I know without you telling me." Harry rolled his eyes.
Over there, Harry’s grandfather—Mr. Evans—had his glasses slide down his nose a bit.
"A strange person?" He put down the newspaper and asked.
"Yes." Penny seemed to have a strong desire to talk, she chattered, "His name is Snape, from Spider’s Tail Alley... you know, that dirty and messy place, and he talked about wizards and witches, said Lily is a witch..."
"That’s really rude." Mrs. Evans’ face darkened, "How can he say that about Lily?"
In the Muggle world, being called a witch is not a compliment.
According to the usual stereotype of Muggles, witches are supposed to be those old-looking, wrinkled, evil old ladies.
Calling a little girl a witch is an extremely inappropriate thing.
Mr. Evans, on the other hand, fell into contemplation.
"The Snape family’s kid..." he murmured, "I remember, Tobias Snape’s son, that one who is a drunkard."
"See, I told you?" Penny triumphantly said to Lily.
Lily didn’t say anything, but simply pressed her lips.
"Listen to me, Lily." Penny continued rambling, "We have to stay away from that Snape, understand?"
"But I really am a little... uh, special." Lily retorted, as she walked to her mom’s potted plant, picked a small flower, and just like she did in front of Snape before, the flower opened and closed like a clam shell continuously in her palm.
Seeing this, Mrs. Evans was shocked with her mouth agape, while Mr. Evans had already stood up.
"Holy mother of God!" Mr. Evans blurted out.
"Lily?!" Mrs. Evans asked in astonishment, "How did you do that?"
"I don’t know either." Lily said honestly, "I just thought about wanting it to do that in my mind..."
"Oh, my heavens..." Mrs. Evans exclaimed, "This... this is just a miracle, Lily... this is simply wonderful."
Saying this, she stepped forward and embraced her daughter.
"Haha!" Mr. Evans also put down the newspaper, walked to his daughter and said, "Lily, can you perform that again? You know... uh, the one where the flower opens and closes?"
Lily did as she was told, and Mr. Evans was like discovering the New Continent, continuously exclaiming.
"Did you see that?"
Vivi nudged Harry with her elbow, "Look at Aunt Penny’s face."
Harry looked at Aunt Penny, and sure enough, found her face somewhat grim, yet she was still forcing a smile.
"It’s obvious that Aunt Penny isn’t very happy." Harry said.
"Anyone ignored by their parents would feel that way, not to mention if their sister has magical talents, how could Aunt Penny not be jealous." Vivi’s gaze flickered, "Of course, I don’t think this is the ultimate reason for the two sisters’ falling out, it’s just that... perhaps many things got mixed together, anyhow, let’s continue watching."
"So..." Harry suddenly asked, "Back then, you didn’t have a good time in Vienna either, right?"
Then, he suddenly realized he might have touched a sore spot for Vivi, so he quickly corrected himself: "Sorry, Vivi, I didn’t mean to ask..."
"It’s okay, things are already in the past." Vivi reached out and ruffled Harry’s head, making his fluffy and messy hair even messier, "Although I was a recognized Dud back then, my parents didn’t resent me because of it, and besides, I had Aunt Sissi, right?"
Harry suddenly thought that Vivi’s relationship with his sisters wasn’t great either.
But then he remembered something and asked: "Wait, Vivi... I recall that wizards with Ancient Magic talent are supposed to start displaying magical abilities at fifteen, right? Why did mom show magical talent when she was so young?"
"Not all of them, Harry." Vivi patiently explained to Harry, "Not everyone with Ancient Magic talent is unable to display magical abilities when young, some do show magical abilities when they are very young, it’s a probability issue, not an absolute event."
"I see..." Harry nodded with understanding.
"Back in the day," Vivi recalled the past while holding Harry with one hand: "I was still a Dud, my parents had already passed away... only Gael was with me, and before going to sleep at night, I’d tell him fairy tales."
Speaking of this, Vivi said with some amusement: "Gael was still a cute kid back then, not the old man he is now... back then, he would always tell me I was the ugly duckling and would surely grow into a white swan."
