Book 2 Prologue – Leaving Home Behind

Multiple hastily cobbled together carts stood in the clearing, all of them packed with supplies and mementos of almost a decade's worth of living in this wooded vale.

Yet more was being left behind to rot.

As the group began to set off into the woods, a child gazed back for the last time at the clearing she had called home for her whole life.

For now she remained with her family, her father and brother. Her aunt’s and her uncle.

But soon enough even they will be left behind by the girl.

For she is destined to wander, and a wanderer has no home.

But she will have friends who share the road with her.
