Chapter 280 - 280: New Roommate!?
Kyle and Ella met up, but the moment Ella saw Kyle, everything she wanted to say escaped her thoughts because this was one of the few times he had a serious face.
“I know Jane must have told you about the nature of our relationship, and you must have some questions as to why I’m taking your friend so far away from you,” Kyle began the conversation as she sat across from him.
“Um… Yes,” Ella responded with skepticism, because the way he presented it made her realize Kyle understood where she was coming from.
“I haven’t told anyone this before, but an attempt was made on my life,” Kyle said, and Ella’s face was painted in utter shock.
The way he said this so casually made her question how many attempts had been made on his life.
“What the hell!? Someone tried to kill you?! Are you okay?” Ella immediately asked, but Kyle was composed.
“I am. I managed to fight off the assailant, but this is the problem, Ella… I think I have a target on my back,” Kyle confessed, and Ella went into protective mode because she understood the gravity of the situation if someone was after his life.
“D-Do you think it is my sister?” Ella asked.
“Cleo might be a bitch, but I don’t think she would be this interested in me—to go after my life. Until I figure it out, I cannot have Jane or anyone I’m involved with get involved,” Kyle told her.
There was no hesitation in his voice, and Ella confirmed what she suspected.
“Anyone you’re involved with?” Ella repeated.
“That is what I want to talk to you about. You cannot put Jane in such a situation…” Ella said, but Kyle instantly raised a finger to hush her.
“Jane is an adult, Ella. I make no one do anything they don’t want to do,” Kyle was clear before his gaze softened.
“However, I can promise you that Jane is safe with me. But she did make a request…” Kyle paused.
“A request?” Ella asked with a raised brow, because they had spoken to each other, and Jane had made no mention of such a thing.
“She wants you to move in with her,” Kyle said, but Ella was confused because this would mean she would be in the same house as the people Kyle was intimate with.
This didn’t sit right with her, and Ella instantly knew she wouldn’t be comfortable in such a setting.
“That is a weird request,” Ella said before a nervous laugh escaped her puffy lips.
“Is it? I’m a man who has room for more women,” Kyle said bluntly.
Ella didn’t know what to do with this, considering Kyle came out as a polygamous man—and then she connected the dots.
“Wait, is this what Jane wants?” Ella thought to herself.
“I don’t want you to make a decision now. I want you to think it over, Ella…” Kyle said, and the fact she didn’t turn him down immediately was proof that she was considering the offer.
“…However, I need to keep an eye on you in the meantime, so you will be staying with me,” Kyle said outright.
“Huh? Staying with you? Why would I accept that?” Ella asked with a raised brow.
“Because if anything happens to you, Jane will never be the same…” Kyle paused before leaning into his seat.
“…Neither will I. You’re important to me, Ella,” Kyle admitted, and Ella couldn’t help but feel flattered.
She didn’t want to admit it, but this was something she secretly wanted—she wanted what Jane had, but never did she know it would come in this form.
“If you insist…” Ella said, but the thought of living with Kyle felt so wrong. Because despite his arrangement with Jane,
There was no way she would be okay with this… would they?
Ella knew she had to inform Jane of this development and hear directly from her because she knew this would ultimately determine whether she stayed with Kyle or not—even though he had presented a good point.
She also respected the fact that he told her what was going on because he had no reason to.
She was worried about what he said regarding people coming after him, as she knew all it took to change everything was one bullet.
However, she wondered how Kyle was able to fight off the assailant. But then again, he had saved Jane as well, so he had shown his capabilities.
Either way, Ella had agreed to his terms, but there was one thing that remained: could she resist Kyle?

Aiysha was glad her family’s finances were becoming stable because of the renovated apartment they had worked on.
It shot up in value, and residents flooded in due to it being a steal—but the rooms were occupied.
The renovation was done, and they were enjoying the fruit of this labour already.
But this didn’t help with the strain on her marriage. She understood this was something that couldn’t be fixed so easily because it was something they had swept under the rug in the past.
Aiysha wondered what came over her husband to even suggest such a thing because if she were going to cheat, she had the opportunity to do that.
There was a misconception here—just because she found Kyle attractive didn’t mean she would act on it.
Even though the chances of that happening increased, it didn’t mean it would—but Aiysha wondered what was going on with him.
Jones spent more time at work like he was scared of staying home with her, which worried Aiysha.
She hated it when they had disagreements, but she needed to stand her ground so he would get the message.
Aiysha checked her phone and noticed there were no calls or messages from her husband like he usually sent.
They hadn’t been intimate for quite some time either, because there was a barrier—and Aiysha was a trainer.
A side effect of that was her high libido, but she found a way to channel that—more workouts. Still, she wondered how long this method would work.
