Guide To Train My Beast Husbands
Chapter 391: Leaving (II)
Ruan Chanchan felt that it was safer to take Xie Daiyu along with them rather than leaving him behind.
"But—"
"If we leave him, do you think that he will stay in the tribe honestly?" Ruan Chanchan asked her brother with a raised brow.
And the second she finished speaking, Ruan Zeqiu turned speechless. Indeed, even if he stopped his brother-in-law from following them, nothing was going to come out of it. His brother-in-law was the kind of mer who would rather take matters into his own hands if things did not go according to him. If they dared to leave him behind, then there was a good chance that Xie Daiyu would follow them without telling anyone.
Compared to such an outcome, it was better to let him follow them. However, when he thought about how Xie Daiyu was pregnant with his nieces or nephews, he could not help but worry. But he knew that he could not stop him from following them, so even though Ruan Zeqiu felt a bit nervous, he did not stop Xie Daiyu.
He was not the only one. When Ye Qianqian and her mother saw Xie Daiyu, the two of them frowned as well, but when they saw Ruan Chanchan—the latter simply shrugged with a ’what can I even do to him?’ attitude and knew that there was nothing that they could say to Xie Daiyu in an attempt to stop him. After all, Ruan Chanchan must have already tried every trick!
When Chief Xie arrived, she saw her son standing among the convoy and was speechless. She wanted to drag the brat to one side and scold him, but knowing his temper, she knew that she would only be wasting her spit, so she turned a blind eye to Xie Daiyu. Out of sight, out of mind.
She walked over to Ruan Chanchan and questioned, "Have you prepared everything?" She did not want them to miss anything. The white sheep tribe was quite far from their tribe; if they forgot something, then there was a good chance that they might not be able to get it back in time.
"We have prepared everything." Ruan Chanchan nodded; anyway, she was carrying everything in her space. So, there was no point in carrying extra baggage with her.
Chief Xie saw that Ruan Chanchan looked confident and heaved a sigh of relief. She then said to Ruan Chanchan, "Then I will leave everything to you."
She really hoped that Ruan Chanchan would be able to turn things around. The last time when their tribe went to the white sheep tribe, they were embarrassed to death!
Her only wish was to recover the face she had lost the last time.
Chief Xie raised her hand and patted Ruan Chanchan on the shoulder and said to her hopefully, "Ruan Chanchan, I know that I am asking for too much, but if possible, make sure that you leave a mark in the market."
"Heh!"
Both Ruan Chanchan and Chief Xie turned to look at Elder Lin, who had sneered. The two of them stayed quiet as they knew that the woman did not need them to usher her. Sure enough, a second later, Elder Lin said sarcastically, "Chief Xie, it seems like you are hoping for too much. Even if she has some kind of plan in her mind, there are so many stalls in the white sheep market. How can this woman do better than the rest of the tribes? Don’t forget that there are not just the small tribes but also big ones."
"With them as her competitor, you think she can leave a mark behind? Hah, as if!"
Ruan Chanchan was not affected by the sarcastic words of Elder Lin. She knew that the woman did not like her; how could she not? After seeing the woman stopping her time and time again, she knew that Elder Lin had something against her and wanted to see her suffer. For people like her, it was better to avoid them as much as possible. After all, she knew that no matter what she said, the woman would only cause trouble for her. So she might as well stay quiet and secure her own peace of mind.
Chief Xie was quite upset when she heard Elder Lin’s words. After all, Ruan Chanchan and the rest were leaving to do something good, yet Elder Lin was saying such harsh words. Was she hoping that Ruan Chanchan and the rest would fail? She wanted to say something, but Ruan Chanchan tugged her wrist and shook her head.
There was no point in talking with someone like Elder Lin; she would only cause more trouble if they indulged Elder Lin.
Chief Xie pursed her lips when she saw Ruan Chanchan shaking her head.
Sighing, she simply patted Ruan Chanchan on the back. She wished she could help Ruan Chanchan.
Seeing that Ruan Chanchan and the chief were ignoring her, Elder Lin was so angry that her expression turned stiff. She wanted to say something, but before she could even begin speaking, she was glared at by Elder Qian. Upon seeing this, even if Elder Lin was not happy leaving the matter alone, since Elder Qian was unwilling, she could only purse her lips and lower her head.
With Elder Lin going quiet, Ruan Chanchan and the rest of the convoy left without much hassle.
"Why did you stop the chief from scolding Elder Lin just now?" Rua Zeqiu was rather uncomfortable when he thought about how Elder Lin was scolding and cursing his sister just now. His sister was so good; she was even willing to bleed for the tribe, and yet the woman was condemning her like that.
"There is no point in getting angry with a person like that." Ruan Chanchan, who was sitting on top of the big brown bear, glanced at her brother, who was walking next to her and explained, "Elder Lin is simply a scourge. The more you pay attention to her, the more she will act up."
