Chapter 251: Fae

The plan was taking shape, but every answer seemed to open a new question. Myha could be fixed, but they still had a big question: who would hold Shin’s powers?

The man crossed his arms, waiting. "So, if not a human, and not an Amazon, then who?"

Lisa floated before him, her wings buzzing with nervous energy. "Fae."

Shin blinked, needing a second to remember. "The Succubus?"

She was part of the elite then; however, she was an unknown; that is, she had no natural demonic power. In the game, this didn’t make her a problem. Instead, she was the rarest Succubus you could get in an evolution draw.

This was because every unknown would eventually awaken their powers, and they always became extremely powerful. But for now, Fae was basically a useless girl and spent most of her time doing simple tasks or reading.

"I told you it would be hard," Lisa said, "But I firmly believe she is our best option."

Lisa called up a hologram of Fae, rotating slowly in the air.

"She is an unknown, which means that, unlike the Amazons and all the other succubi, she was never properly connected to the demonic core. She has a bond to it, but a weak one."

"And what happens once she awakens her demonic powers? I’m sure the small bond you speak of will become much bigger at that point."

Lisa shrugged, smiling ironically, as her eyes shimmered with a morbid curiosity. Shin didn’t even need to wait for her to open her mouth. His wife had no idea what would happen at that point.

They could only hope she would either not awaken her power, or they could deal with things when the time came.

"Can’t we just sever her bond to the demonic system forever?"

"I can do it," Lisa shrugged again, but Shin already knew what came next. "But this would be riskier, because if she dies, we don’t have another unknown to try out."

"Okay, for now your plan is the best," the man conceded, agreeing that they had little other option. "Is there any other risk I should be aware of?"

"A lot of them, actually," Lisa said, sounding shockingly happy, probably proud of her own analysis. "First, incompatibility. Her soul is demonic, and whatever we give her to hold was built for something else. It might reject her. It might reject the system. I cannot be sure until we try."

"So she can die?"

"No, even if her soul rejects your powers, I can very likely... probably, save her life."

Shin rolled his eyes, and Lisa smiled ironically. "And if it works?"

"Then there is the risk of the Tower, and the Imperial Queen, as a consequence, detecting her. After all, we will be bringing a demon to the Tower."

Shin nodded, but he didn’t need to listen anymore. He knew of all the risks associated with that, because it also happened in the game quite often.

But he also knew of some tricks they could use to avoid the detection. Yasmin, for example, probably could enter the Tower as long as she kept herself immaterial while going through the portal.

Shin let out a slow breath. "Your plan might work, but then we have a lot of work to do."

Lisa smiled, the spark returning to her eyes. "I already started. But you do know that this was just the tip of the iceberg of my plan."

"I had the feeling this was the case." Shin raised his hand, showing the demonic rune on it. "And what do you plan on doing about that? I’m not even sure about how it works, do you know?"

"Partially," Lisa admitted. "But for now, I think Yasmin could hold it. The seal of wrath is not that powerful, because it’s just a proof that you completed a trial."

Shin nodded. It was probably not meant to be a power-up, or anything. It was one of probably seven keys he would need for something.

"Yasmin can enter the Tower easily," Shin agreed, "so she is the best one to hold it. But can you just transfer this thing to her?"

"Yes, sure." Lisa puffed out her chest with pride. "And I can also do the same thing for the Trial of Loyalty you will complete."

As she spoke of that, both of them turned their attention to the succubus queen that was still fallen on the floor. Right now she was recovering the memories of her past incarnation, when she was one of the Demon King’s wives.

But none of the memories she would get were all that useful, given the fact Shin already knew about them.

"Can you make her fully re-awaken her power?" Shin asked. He knew Vespera had some extremely powerful forms in the game.

The problem is that in the game, it took long grinding to evolve her, so he never included it as part of his plan. It would probably take 10 or more years, with the method he knew.

"I can make her stronger, but a full recovery would depend on having her weapons back, and recovering her body."

"So it’s the same as the game," Shin let out a sigh. "Can you at least make her wake up? We’ll need her moving forward with our plans."

Just thinking about how they would need to accomplish everything Lisa had talked about within a week, before the window to return to the Tower closed, made Shin grimace.

"I can, but I’m not going to do that yet. I have other plans for her," Lisa commented, but she didn’t elaborate, deliberately leaving Shin curious.

Instead, she flew around him and landed on his head once again.

"Now it’s time to discuss the most important step of my plan. I think you may have noticed by now, but the best way to defeat the Imperial Queen is with demonic power."

"So you want to do the war again? The demons have almost no more power, especially inside of the Tower."

"Yes, that is why we must recreate the source of power of the demons."

As she spoke, the crown and the throne began to shine.
