Guide to raise my cutie husbands

Chapter 1704 - 1704: An accident (2)

“I am looking for Nuan Nuan,” replied Lang with a raise of her brows which almost reached her hairline. “She usually follows you around, doesn’t she?”

“Nuan Nuan?” Village Head Gu asked with a frown on her face. She could not understand what Lang was saying, because as far as she knew, she had nothing —or no good feelings towards the Ding family.

However, she did not question Lang and said to her, “She is not with me, so stop looking for her. And are the records for the purchase and the sales-ready? Madam Yu is back in the village, I want to discuss the matter of the rising sales.”

Lang looked at Village Head Gu with a weird look on her face. Was Village Head Gu back to being normal?

These past few days, she was treating Ding Nuan Nuan as her daughter. If not for the fact that Ding Nuan Nuan’s parents were alive the entire village thought and believed that Village Head Gu would have adopted Ding Nuan Nuan as her daughter.

She nodded and said to Village Head Gu, “They are ready — it is just that there is a small problem.”

Village Head Gu frowned as a sudden feeling of unease rose in her heart. Problem? This was not good, Yu Dong was the one who had given her the responsibility to care for the greenhouse and the sales. If something went wrong then she would be held accountable for it!

“What kind of problem?” Village Head Gu asked with a worried voice. “Why did you not tell me earlier?”

“I did,” Lang replied with a frown that mirrored Village Head Gu. “I told you many times, Village Head Gu.”

“You did?” Village Head Gu tilted her head to the side feeling even more confused. She tried to recall when Lang had told her anything but as soon as she tried to remember what happened in the past few days— she could not recall anything.

Her memory was fuzzy and it was with a trickle of ravishing fear that Village Head Gu realised that she had no idea what she had done in the past weeks when Yu Dong was gone from the village.

Lang nodded and stated in a cold voice, “I did. I told you that what you were doing was not right but you did not listen to me. I had no choice but to go along with your whims and wishes as you were the one who was in charge of taking care of everything.”

Village Head Gu: “…” Why did it feel like the person who caused trouble was her?

Her feeling of foreboding came to fruition the second the worker in the greenhouse brought the ledgers. The more she flipped through them, the more speechless she became.

She—the village head of the Big River Village did such a thing?

Not to mention that the person she had spent so much money on was actually Ding Nuan Nuan! Why did she spend more than twenty taels on that girl? If she had so much money, she would have handed it to her daughters and not wasted it like this!

“I —how did it even happen?” Village Head Gu could see that the one who signed the ledger and the IOU was her. But how could she do something so foolish? And that too over a girl who was not even related to her?

Lang raised a brow and said to Village Head Gu, “I asked you the same thing, I told you that you were being foolish but you did not hear a thing that I was saying to you.”

Back then Lang could not help but think that there was something wrong with Village Head Gu but in the end, if someone was digging a pit for themselves, what could she even do?

Village Head Gu was speechless. She wanted to say that there was something terribly wrong and that she was not the one who would do such a foolish thing. But the evidence stated otherwise and she couldn’t even refute!

“That—”

There was a sudden thud followed by a bang and something hit the ground.

Lang was taken aback and so were the rest of the people.

They all looked at Village Head Gu who was hit by the flower pot which was dangling on the frame and was now lying on the floor.

Her head was bleeding!

“Oh my god!”

“Someone bring Doctor Gu!”

“Help! Help!”

Lang looked at Village Head Gu worriedly as she rushed forward and covered her head with her hands to stop the blood from gushing out, “Village Head Gu, are you alright?”

“No!” Village Head Gu felt her head was going to split open into two, she was just standing quietly. How come all of a sudden she was hit by a flower pot when she was standing so far from it?

“Don’t worry, your wound is not too deep,” said Lang consolingly. “Doctor Gu will be treated the wound..”

“AHHH!!”

“I am sorry!”

Lang was still speaking when suddenly the cart that was carrying strawberry plants was overturned right onto the legs of Village Head Gu who was lying on the ground.

There was a horrifying crack and Village Head Gu’s eyes rolled back in her sockets.

!!!

Village Head Gu now started to doubt her life as she looked at the flowerpots that were pressing on her legs. She couldn’t see it but she was certain that there was something wrong with her leg! A bone must have been broken!

How did her luck turn so bad?

What poor Village Head Gu did not know was that with her life force taken away by more than half, she was now in danger of losing her life at any moment. And this was just the start of her bad luck.

“AHH! Do something!” She gasped in pain as Village Head Gu tried to pull her legs out of the mound of flowerpots. But soon she realised that she could not use her legs at all!

Village Head Gu: !!!!
