Novel Full Chapter 1454 Chased by cow
The information that Yu Linyun ran out of the village without anyone finding out was spread all over the village, after all, the village was only this big. There was no big or small secret in the village.
“Brother Chen, did you hear? Your second aunt ran out of the village without anyone noticing,” one of the mers who was working in the paddy fields, saw Chen Mi and immediately walked out of the fields to gossip with Chen Mi.
Chen Mi was on his way to bring some milk back home. Though they had mammies at home, the mers still did some big and small jobs, so as not to become a useless bum.
When Chen Mi heard the words of the mer, he paused and turned to look at the mer with the bucket in his hands. “What did you say, Brother Feng? Second aunt ran out of the village? Did no one notice her?”
Of course, Chen Mi heard the discussion of the mammies at home and knew that Second Aunt Yu ran out of the village but how could only pretend as if he had no idea what was going on.
Yu Linyun had caused such a tragedy and even though they have separated from the old Yu family and had nothing to do with another—— their blood and tendons were connected in the eyes of the villagers.
If he made even the smallest mistake, he and his family would be condemned to death!
He couldn’t let such a thing happen, so Chen Mi pretended as if he had no idea, that Yu Linyun ran from the village.
His actions were too natural and the mer did not see any signs of Chen Mi lying to him. He nodded heavily and whispered, “I heard that no one saw her leave but somehow she escaped the village. Now the mammies are looking around the entire village for a dog hole that Yu Linyun might have used when she was escaping.”
The mers whose families were burned to death were so angry that they wanted to find Yu Linyun at the town but they were stopped by their women. The town was not like their village, where they could clamour as they liked.
Many officials lived in the town if they became dissatisfied with the mers making a ruckus, they would send them to the Yamen.
Was Yamen a place where they could go in and out as they pleased?
The women stopped their mers from making a fuss but they were also looking down on Yu Linyun. Everyone said that a tiger would give birth to a tiger, why was it that a woman like Old Madam Yu gave birth to someone like Yu Linyun?
That woman actually hid her face and ran away from the village like a coward? What a mess!
Chen Mi furrowed his brows. In fact, he too was a bit confused, he couldn’t understand how Yu Linyun left the village without being noticed.
“I really don’t know what sin we have committed,” Chen Mi shook his head. “We warned the villagers of Black Pot Village and even tried to make Second Aunt understand…but alas..what can we do when fate is playing a joke.”
The other mer also agreed with Chen Mi.
Yu Dong did what she could, if the others refused to listen to her, what could she do?
Chen Mi said a few words to the mer and then went to the cow shed. However, when he arrived at the cow shed, he saw that someone was being chased by a sturdy cow!
“What’s going on?” Chen Mi asked Elder Pei who rolled her eyes and said to him, “This woman just joined the cow shed. I told her that the cows in the barn only eat the finest grass and not even a single stalk of withered grass would do. Not to mention one they needed to add the strawberries and the eggplants in their fodder.”
“This young woman thought that I was joking with her and it was a waste of money to give such fine strawberries to the cow. So she ate the strawberries that should have been mixed in the fodder of this cow and even took the eggplants, most probably she wanted to take them back home.”
Elder Pei rolled her eyes after saying those words and continued, “She didn’t even take out the withered stalks of grass and dumped it just like that in the wooden vat. Now this cow is furious.”
The cows and goats of the Yu family barn were not only smart but some villagers thought that they were also sentient as they understood what humans said to them.

What was more, they were raised at the Yu family barn—— so of course they would be picky with their meal. Even Yu Dong wouldn’t have dared to do something like this but this young woman was one of those who just moved to the village and had no idea how smart the animals in the barn were.
She thought that the other women were just pulling her leg. The result? She was chased by the cow all around the barn!
“My ancestor! Let me off, I swear that I will not do it again!” The woman pleaded with the cow that was chasing after her. She just came to live in the Big River Village a few weeks ago, she and her family were relocated by the magistrate as they had the money to buy land and a house.
Of course, she heard the rumours of the barn animals of the Yu family barn being witty and smart but she did not trust those rumours.
She even looked down on these people who were treating the barn animals as if they were their ancestors.
Earlier today when Elder Pei asked her to feed the cow, she thought that the workers of the barn were crazy to feed such good things to the cows and goats, so she ate the strawberries and stole the eggplants. Who would have thought that this cow would become so furious that she would break the small door of her quarter and chase after her?
