Yu Mai who did not understand how him catching fish turned to his brother-in-law kneeling was turned speechless. What was going on? He just wanted to have fun, why were they betting like this?

He turned to look at Ye Liu and tugged on his sleeves, “Brother-in-law Liu, what if I cannot catch fish?” Yu Mai was raised well by Yu Dong in the past year but he was still timid and scared. The day when he was thrown to the restaurant after being sold was still firmly imprinted in his mind. What if he made his brother-in-law kneel and his sister got angry?

Would she not throw him away? His sister loved his brother-in-law and she would be definitely angry with him if he was to fail.

Yu Dong saw the expression on Yu Mai’s face and was heartbroken. She thought that shadow of being sold had long left Yu Mai but it was still there, look at him. He was so timid and cautious as if worried about making a mistake. She knew that this was because Yu Mai was scared that she would be angered by his loss.

Yu Dong sighed. She took her hand away from Shen Li’s waist and cupped her cheeks before saying, “Go on Mai. No matter whether you win or lose just give your best. Sister will not blame you.”

Even Ye Liu chimed up, “That’s right. No matter whether you win or lose, your brother-in-law and sister will not blame you. Just do what you want and have fun.” He then glared at Guo Chengcai and sneered, “There are some fools who want to make trouble but that does not mean that we need to join hands with them and ruin our fun as well.”

Guo Chengcai’s face turned ashen he wanted to say something more but was pulled back by his wife who glared at him and hissed at him, “What are you trying to do?” It was bad enough that he created such a stupid bet, but he was also quibbling with Ye Liu and a child. Could he not see that everyone was laughing at them?

“Why are you pulling me? Did I say something wrong?” Guo Chengcai did not think that there was anything wrong with what he said. How could someone catch fish with a bucket? Why was she blaming him?

He was just warning the child lest he feel upset.

“Who are you to worry about such things?” Madam Yan was so angry that she laughed. “If the child fails then there are people who are willing to look out for him. Why are you jumping in the middle of the fun?”

Guo Chengcai was upset with what Madam Yan said but he did not fight with her anymore. He let her drag him away from Ye Liu even though he wanted to see Ye Liu fail and kneel in front of him.

Once Guo Chengcai left, Yu Mai heaved a sigh of relief. Though he was worried, seeing that Ye Liu was encouraging him and did not seem to be blaming him, he walked over to the shore. He trotted over to where the rest of the competitors were sitting and then heaved a sigh. He turned to look behind him and questioned, “Is it alright to fail?”

He did not want to be blamed for losing.

“It’s alright, your sister is backing you,” Yu Dong answered. She would see who dared to make Ye Liu kneel. Anyway, she was the owner of this village, those who could make her husband kneel were yet to be born.

Only then did Yu Mai heave a sigh of relief and then turn to look at the fluttering water. His brows were scrunched up as he rolled his pants and walked inside the water. However, he did not go too far, instead just took a few steps away from the shore where Ye Liu could catch him.

Yu Mai then looked at the clear water and his small face scrunched up. How was he supposed to catch fish when the water was this clear here? He was very afraid that his brother-in-law would have to kneel to that bad mer. But when he thought about how his sister said that she would deal with every Yu thing, Yu Mai sighed like a grown-up adult.

Forget it. Forget it.

Since his sister asked him to play then he would play.

With that thought in his head, Yu Mai leaned forward and then placed the bucket in the water. Once the bucket was submerged, Yu Mai sat down on the shore after taking a few steps back.

Everyone waited for the fish to take the bait but nothing happened.

Once in a while, someone would exclaim but the fish caught was neither big nor small. Slowly time passed by and Yu Mai’s little face started to get worried. He was really scared of pulling an empty bucket.

Bo Bo who saw that his little uncle was upset about something turned and glared at the water. How dare it bully his uncle!

Even Yu Jin seemed upset. He walked over to where Yu Mai was sitting and smacked his hands on the water, “Biya! Biya! Biya!” Don’t bully my uncle!

“Jin Jin, don’t do that! If you do that then all the fish would be scared away,” Yu Mai was touched by Yu Jin’s care for him but at the same time, he couldn’t help but shed tears of sadness. Little nephew if you do that then your uncle would certainly lose!

Ah! His life was so tough!

Yu Mai was regretting. However, even if he was regretting it nothing would change. He walked over to the bucket with a sullen expression and crouched down to pick it up. Let’s see what he caught, he would at least catch a small snail, right?

He wouldn’t be so unlucky as to pull an empty bucket right?
