“What do I not know?” Master Bing could not help but question with a frown on his face. He really hated it when someone talked in circles with him instead of telling him what was the matter.

The mer sighed and stated, “Master Bing, I really pity you. You and your wife refused to follow your in-laws, and now your sister-in-law is working with Madam Yu at a big slaughterhouse. I heard that even a single pork hock from that slaughterhouse is sold for more than three taels. Do you even know how much money your sister in law is earning now? She is earning thousands of taels!”

Master Bing felt like he had been struck with lighting, he stumbled and almost dropped the vegetables that he was carrying in his hands. If not for the fact that the mer caught him, Master Bing would have fallen on the ground.

The mer watched Master Bing walk away with a pale complexion and spit on the ground.

“Cooking for your daughter, Pei! As if! You just want to go and bully your wife into getting back with your in-laws! Shameless bastard!” The mer snorted. He then turned to walk away with a sway of his waist, he needed to relay this matter to the rest of the village. If he did not then he wouldn’t be able to sit still!

Master Bing on the other hand rushed back to his house. He threw the basket of wild vegetables to his son and ordered, “Go and wash them. Once you are done make sure to chop them finely, your sister doesn’t like big pieces of vegetables in her soup.”

Chen Yihai looked at the basket of vegetables and pursed his lips angrily. His father cared for his sister but he did not even think about him! He just returned from the fields after lifting buckets of water from the river to the field and now he was thrown into the kitchen.

Though Chen Yihai was angry, he did not dare to go against his father as he knew that he would beat him up. Instead, he calmly went to the kitchen and started sorting out the vegetables.

“Wife!” Master Bing rushed to the backyard where Second Sister Chen was sharpening a wooden piece. She was going to make a small table for the customer who had ordered her to make one at a very cheap price.

However, what could Second Sister Chen do? There was no one buying Kang in this heat and even though she learned a few things from Yu Dong, it was not enough for her to earn a decent living when the situation was like this.

“What?” Second Sister Chen asked angrily. These days she had little patience with Master Bing. This was because she found out that this mer had actually given all of their savings to his maternal family!

Thats right. Second Sister Chen and her husband did not have the right to manage the household finances. However once they separated from their family, the one managing the finances became Master Bing.

Second Sister Chen trusted her husband, as she believed that he was doing everything for her own good. However, a few days ago when Chen Yihai fell sick, she asked Master Bing to take out the money from the savings.

However, her husband did not agree. He continued saying that there was no need for Chen Yihai to go to the doctor for a small fever. But Second Sister Chen did not agree, she had seen what happened to Yu Mai, Yu Dong’s brother.

Thus she remained adamant. No matter what kind of person Second Sister Chen was, she was still a good mother who cared for her children equally.

He knew that he was in the wrong but what was he supposed to do? His sisters were supposed to get married and the mer whom his sister wanted to marry asked for a house. He couldn’t have possibly ignored his sisters in distress, right?

And since they had the money, it was only right for them to help his family.

Second Sister Chen was so angry upon hearing his question that she flung down the knife. She pushed herself off the wooden stole on which she was sitting and turned around. Second Sister Chen glared at Master Bing and questioned, “Do you think you have left enough face for me to talk to my sister?”
