Yu Dong and Xiao Hua spent three hours at the graveyard, they not only cleaned the graves but also stayed there to accompany those who had left. However, Yu Dong did not feel comfortable…something seemed to be badgering her, in the end she asked Xiao Hua whether or not he wanted to return.

Xiao Hua looked at the sky and nodded. If they left now only then they would be able to arrive at the village around five. He picked up the boxes that he brought with him and said to his parents, “I will be leaving now. I will come back next month.” He wished he could come back every week but it was impossible. He was a working mer and had to stay behind and keep an eye on the workers.

If he was to take so many leaves then not only would the mers working in the bar be discontent, they might be even dishonest.

He needed to keep an eye on them!

The two of them cleaned the spot where they were sitting before taking their leave. It was a good thing as well because, the house was thrown into chaos at the moment.

Shen Li looked at the children who were playing in the main house and pursed his lips. He turned and looked at the mers who were sitting inside the courtyard and for the first time felt angry. Yu Sa seemed to be acting as if everything that they were saying was nothing but nonsense. She did not listen but instead started to act like a smarty pants.

Yu Sa and her family were worried that Shen Li and the rest would keep the good things to themselves, so they sent the children to the main house to keep an eye on them. Not only that——

“Don’t! How many times have I told you to not pull the tomatoes like that? Do you want to pull the entire plant off the patch!” Ye Liu scolded the child who was pulling and tugging on the tomato plant. The poor tomato plant was on the verge of being ripped out of the patch! It was simply hard to look at.

The child pulled her hand back but did not apologize instead she turned to look at her father. Zhang Kun smiled at his daughter and said to Ye Liu in a reproachful voice, “Brother-in-law, you are being too hard on the child. How can she pull the entire plant off the land?”

“Can’t you see its roots sticking out?” Ye Liu was not someone who would show face to anyone who did not deserve it. “Not to mention this is a time when we need to save every food resource! If this plant rots, will your family bring us vegetables from the town?”

They did not work in the field and neither did they sow the seeds of these crops of course they did not feel bad but they did! After all, they worked hard to grow these crops!

Zhang Kun pursed his lips. However, he had thickened skin and he did not mind Ye Liu’s words. He said, “You speak so seriously. It’s not like my daughter has already pulled the plant off the soil? She is just a child and doesn’t know good from bad, there is no need for you to act so stern.”

He spoke so lightly as if his daughter was not in the wrong!

That only made the children playing in the courtyard even more bold. They pulled and pushed this causing many plants to be stomped on.

Fang Chi who saw this felt his heart ache. If not for the fact that Chen Mi was there with him, he would have fainted!

His hard work! All of it went to drain!

Ye Liu looked at the children who were acting as if they were in their own house and felt an itch to slap them. It was simply too much! They were being bullied in their house, how could this be acceptable?

He turned to look at Shen Li who had the same bitter and helpless expression on his face. He wanted to stop the children of Yu Sa’s family but he couldn’t.

If he went too far then the elders of the family would blame him for being too much.

Zhang Kun and Wei De glanced at one other, they were quite proud. Earlier Old Madam Yu said this and that but they also wanted to make their point clear. Not only would they not work, but the Yu family also had to take care of them!

Let’s see how they stop them!

They looked at the blocks that were scattered under the shed and then looked at one another. A sly smile etched on their face as the eldest granddaughter of Yu Sa rushed to Sun Jie and said, “Get up, you idiot. We are going to play with these now.”

Sun Jie blinked his eyes. He raised his head and looked at the girl who spoke to him. He questioned, “Are you talking to me?”

“Who else?” Yu Jianian sneered. “You are the only idiot here!”

“Hey! Stop that!” Ye Liu who heard Yu Jianian’s words immediately walked over to the shed and pulled the girl back. “He is your elder. Did your parents not teach you how to talk to elders? How dare you call him an idiot!”

“He is an idiot!” Yu Jianian was doted on by Yu Sa and her parents. She immediately flung Ye Liu’s hand off her arm and pointed to Sun Jie. “We had an idiot like this in our village and we treated him like this!” As she spoke she picked up a wooden block and threw it at Sun Jie’s head!
