Because Lin Hanjing stayed awake all night, he couldn’t wake up early the next day. His eyes kept closing as he turned and tossed in his bed while thinking that he needed to get up and do his work. The sound of his daughter fussing stopped when Xiao Zimo who had been cleaning the house walked inside his room and took her away while muttering,
“If you two cannot fight then what is the point of quarreling with one another now look at this!” Xiao Zimo exclaimed as he turned on his feet and walked out of the room, though he seemed to be scolding Xiao Hua and Lin Hanjing he did not raise his voice because he was holding Lin Hanjing’s daughter in his arms.
On the bed, Lin Hanjing closed his eyes and covered them with his arm. He sighed, before drifting off to sleep again. He was too tired to care about anything. However, as soon as he slept, Lin Hanjing heard a sudden bang as if someone had smashed a heavy pot on the ground.
Startled, he sat up straight on his bed and looked at Xiao Zimo who was standing inside his room with a worried expression.
Lin Hanjing frowned as he questioned, “What’s the matter with you? Why are you acting like this? Did something happen?” He questioned as he looked at the mer in front of him.
“Miss Tong…” Xiao Zimo gasped causing Lin Hanjing to jump up from his bed as he looked at Xiao Zimo and questioned, “What do you mean? What are you trying to say?” Lin Hanjing was afraid that Yu Tong did something to herself as she did not look calm last night.
In fact, there was something weird about her, if not for the fact that he would have given her hope if he chased after her, Lin Hanjing would have definitely run after her.
Xiao Zimo’s chest was heaving up and down as he informed Lin Hanjing in a panicky voice, “She…She is standing at the cliff, with a bottle of poison in her hands. She is demanding for you to come and look for her, Sister Tong says either you will agree to the marriage match or she will die in front of you for you to watch.”
Xiao Zimo covered his face as he shook his head, “I do not understand why she is even doing this, what’s the point when you can’t even understand her love!”

Miss Dong is trying to pull her down from the cliff but she is dancing at the edge of the cliff, even the smallest mistake and she will ….” He cut himself off before saying to Lin Hanjing,
“Brother Hanjing if you were going to refuse her in the end, what was the point of keeping her hanging so long? Why did you give her hope?” Xiao Zimo could not help but question Lin Hanjing, in the past he and Xiao Hua thought that Lin Hanjing was slowly opening himself to Yu Tong but his stubborn and direct refusal had caused things to become messy.
“Were you playing around with her?” Xiao Zimo questioned further causing Lin Hanjing to shake his head fervently.
“I…I …How dare I,” Lin Hanjing answered. That was right, how dare he play with someone’s emotions when he knows just how much it hurts? He was just …he was just…
What was he trying to do? If he was going to reject this happiness from the start then why did he let Yu Tong continue?
What was going on in his head when he let Yu Tong chase him? That’s right he just wanted to bask in this love and attention that he had never received.
“What are you two doing now?” One of the mers who lived in the house with them came running. He looked at Lin Hanjing and Xiao Zimo before saying, “Hurry, Miss Tong is getting more and more ridiculous. If she doesn’t see Brother Hanjing, who knows what she might do next?”
“I understand,” Xioa Zimo caught Lin Hanjing’s wrist and then dragged him out of the house with him while telling a few mers to take care of their little princess.
At the cliff,
