Growing Fond of You, Mr Nian

Chapter 996

Chapter 996: Xu Luosang, You Lied to Me

After lunch, Mo Liuxi paid the bill, and then the three of them headed back to school.

Arriving at the school gate, they saw Nian Junting standing under a tree, wearing a perfectly tailored khaki suit, looking cold, proud and inaccessible.

Luosang froze when she saw him, like a little girl who failed an exam and accidentally let her parents find out about it.

Yan Su was nervous too. “What should we do? Will your husband think I let you eat unhealthy food?”

Luosang’s scalp turned numb. She blinked, then turned to Mo Liuxi and said, “Liuxi, if your brother-in-law asks us where we had lunch, can you please tell him that you made me eat roast fish? You are not afraid of him anyway.”

Mo Liuxi was speechless.

He found that his sister was growing more and more shameless after she got married.

Luosang tried harder to persuade him, “You taking the blame will save a happy family.”

“All right,” Mo Liuxi said and rubbed the spot between his brows. At that moment, Nian Junting saw the three of them, and walked over with a sour face.

“Darling, why are you here?” Luosang said to him smilingly.

“I’m doing a spot check.” Nian Junting sneered. “Didn’t you tell me that you’d have lunch in the canteen? I went to the canteen at your school at half-past twelve but didn’t see a trace of you.”

Luosang glanced at her watch, and found that it was almost 2:00 p.m. “So, have you been waiting here?” she asked. “You could have called me.”

“I prefer to catch you red-handed.” Suddenly, Nian Junting dragged her over, sniffed her lips, and then continued saying, “You smell spicy. Xu Luosang, you lied to me. You are full of lies.”

Luosang didn’t know how to respond. He made it sound like she had hurt him deeply.

“I invited her.” Mo Liuxi joined the conversation easily. “We haven’t seen each other for over a week. I wanted to have roast fish, so I asked her to go with me. I guess she didn’t have the heart to say no.”

“Yeah. I didn’t want to go. I tried to tell him the food out there isn’t clean. I was already in the canteen, yet he dragged me to the roast fish place,” Luosang said.

Mo Liuxi was speechless. He found that his sister was full of lies.

“Do you expect me to believe that?” Nian Junting’s lip corners twitched slightly. “Come home with me. You’re not taking the afternoon classes.”

“No. I’m already here. I’ll finish all the classes.” Luosang shook her head.

“It’s just some roast fish. Many pregnant women eat like that. Relax. She doesn’t eat roast fish every day,” said Mo Liuxi.

“I am doing this for her own good. I’m a healthy man. If I can live to a hundred years old while she can only live to eighty, how am I supposed to get through the last twenty years?” Nian Junting snorted coldly and said, “You unmarried people don’t understand that.”

Mo Liuxi paused briefly.

Luosang was touched. “Dear, is that what you’re worried about? Relax. I will take good care of myself. But I have to take the classes this afternoon. I’m in my fourth year. There aren’t too many classes left. My belly will soon become huge and I can’t possibly come to school then.”

“No,” Nian Junting responded mercilessly. “Those classes are unnecessary for you. Why waste time?”

“I’m not leaving.” Luosang shook her head.

Nian Junting put on a long face. Both of them fell into silence.

“You guys can leave,” Luosang said to Mo Liuxi and Yan Su.

Mo Liuxi frowned slightly. Yan Su pulled his arm slightly and said, “Let’s go. They’ll solve the problem by themselves.”

Mo Liuxi glanced at her hand which was on his arm and raised his eyebrows. Without hesitation, he followed her and left.
