Chapter 873: Nian Xi’s Heart Skipped a Beat When She Saw Him

“Why didn’t Mr. Jiang come out then?”

Fang Qi said indignantly, “How could you fight with such a cute, innocent and handsome big boy? You are too cruel. If I were you, I would be showing him my tender loving care. Of course, like how I would treat a younger brother. Don’t get me wrong guys.”

Nian Xi was speechless.

Big boy? He was more like an old man pretending to be young.

Zhan Hong nodded his head as well. “Don’t hurt Mr. Jiang.”

Nian Xi said, “You only had one meal with him. Do you really need to be so protective over him?”

Fang Qi furrowed his brows. “I don’t know. I only know that my heart melted when I saw him. If we get into any danger in Paris, I am willing to sacrifice myself to keep him safe.”

“Yup.” Zhan Hong agreed. “He is so cute.”

Nian Xi felt awkward listening to these grown men. She had to agree though, that guy was adorable. Nian Xi looked over at Huo Lizhi, who was silent.

He took a bite and looked up at her and said coldly, “It’s good that you’re maintaining a distance from him. You’re nowhere good enough for him.”

Nian Xi had completely lost her appetite. She took a couple of bites but she was restless. She felt like she had done something terrible, especially now that Jiang Yuning wasn’t coming out of his room.

She couldn’t fall asleep at night so she called Luosang. “Do you think I was being too harsh?”

“Yeah you were. Extremely harsh.” Luosang was disapproving. “How could you say something so hurtful? Does it really matter what others think? Or… are you afraid that Feng Ji Chuan will hear about this? Are you still planning on getting back with him?”

“No, of course not.” Nian Xi was shocked. “I didn’t want to have a special relationship with Jiang Yuning. I’m afraid that my colleagues might get the wrong idea. I don’t want them to think that I treat relationships lightly. It would make it difficult for me to find a real relationship in the future.”

“What are you afraid of? You’re single now anyway. You don’t need to worry about anything since you’re single. You’re free to mingle with anyone you like. You can flirt with whoever you want. I don’t have a single friend of the opposite gender since I got together with your brother. You should make use of this opportunity…”

Luosang was getting excited when Nian Junting suddenly said, “You sound like you regret settling down with me so quickly. Do you want to have more fun and flirt around more?”

She hung up and reflected over what Luosang said.

Yeah, she was single. Why should she care about what others thought of her? Couldn’t she have her own friends of the opposite gender?

They set off at 7:30 a.m. and Nian Xi was the last one to wake up. She packed up hastily before she met up with the others.

Everyone was ready and waiting in the living room. Jiang Yuning was wearing a pair of black cropped pants and a white button-down. He was also wearing a pair of black oxford shoes, revealing his fair ankles.

Nian Xi’s heart skipped a beat when she saw him.

Jiang Yuning was always wearing something casual like track pants and sweats. She had never seen him in anything this formal before. He had a different aura and she was swept away.
