Grinding to Martial Emperor from the Border Army
Chapter 132 - 113: 1 Against 10,000
Chapter 132: Chapter 113: 1 Against 10,000
On the mountain, Lu Yuan stared at the Innate Expert before him, his expression grave. ’This is a truly dangerous situation.’
Then, without waiting for his opponent to attack, he struck first.
He charged forward, dragging his Crescent Saber along the ground. With every step, the light glinting off the blade grew brighter. He was gathering power.
A savage expression appeared on the Xirong Ten Thousand Men Commander’s face as he raised his hammers to meet the charge.
A radiant light enveloped his twin hammers. He poured his Innate True Qi into them so lavishly that they began to HUM.
As the two men clashed.
CLANG!
Another ear-splitting sound rang out.
Lu Yuan’s arm remained steady on the hilt of his saber, showing no signs of strain.
The Ten Thousand Men Commander, however, was forced back, his feet carving a fissure into the ground.
Clearly, Lu Yuan had once again gained the upper hand.
This time, he didn’t stop. He spun, his body moving as one with his saber, and unleashed an even greater power as he cleaved forward.
The Xirong Ten Thousand Men Commander felt himself enveloped by the shadow of the blade and barely had time to raise his twin hammers to block.
However, his movements had clearly lost all discipline. His rhythm was broken, and he had become a lamb to the slaughter.
Each fall of Lu Yuan’s Crescent Saber was heavier than the one before.
The air around them thundered with a deafening roar.
The Xirong Ten Thousand Men Commander’s eardrums vibrated painfully.
CLANG!
After a dozen more strikes, he could no longer hold on, and his twin hammers fell to the ground.
Lu Yuan’s blade hacked into his shoulder.
Then he dragged it down fiercely.
The Xirong General’s body flipped over backward before landing face-up on the ground.
He had no strength left.
The wound on his shoulder was grievous. The blade had split his armor and plunged deep into his body.
It had been dragged all the way to his chest before stopping.
Blood and viscera spilled from the gaping wound.
He was nearly cloven in two. Only the powerful life force of the Innate Realm kept him from dying instantly. An ordinary man would have perished on the spot.
Lu Yuan swept his blade low. A head flew into the air, and he caught it in his hand.
His body was covered in blood, his helmet was long gone, and his long hair hung loose about his shoulders.
He looked like a wild lion.
His gaze swept over the enemy soldiers, and fear was plain on the faces of the ordinary Warriors.
They had clearly never imagined that the General they saw as invincible could die on the battlefield just like that.
The blow to their morale was immense.
After sweeping a cold glance over them, Lu Yuan charged straight into the crowd, the severed head in his left hand and his saber in his right.
In that moment, he was a tiger pouncing on a flock of sheep.
The Xirong Wolf Soldiers were already terrified by what they had just witnessed.
Now, faced with his invincible blade, the fear in their eyes was impossible to hide.
But just then, a figure stepped forward. It was the dead commander’s Vice General, a warrior at the peak of the Gang Qi level. He roared to the men around him, "We have over ten thousand Armored Warriors! Even an Innate Expert is no match for us! Pin him down! Avenge our General!"
The Vice General’s eyes were bloodshot, and he looked as if he wanted to eat Lu Yuan alive.
He and his Ten Thousand Men Commander hailed from the same village and had come this far together, forging a deep bond of camaraderie.
Now, having watched his companion die right before his eyes, his heart blazed with an imaginable fury.
The surrounding Wolf Soldiers rallied and charged at Lu Yuan once more.
No one believed that a person who had not yet reached the Innate Realm could possibly survive on such a battlefield.
But Lu Yuan paid them no mind. He simply raised his saber and continued his slaughter, a mist of blood coalescing around him.
From the relentless slaughter, the once-sturdy Crescent Saber’s edge had actually begun to show small nicks and cracks.
It was a testament to the battle’s ferocity.
Down below the mountain, an Imperial Guard Scout stared at the battlefield. Watching Lu Yuan single-handedly battle the entire Xirong army, the admiration in his eyes grew deeper and deeper.
As the sun began to set, its last rays struck Lu Yuan’s armor, dusting it with a layer of glittering gold.
「In the Dayong camp, as night began to fall.」
A lone figure from the Imperial Guard finally came galloping in.
As Qi approached the main gate of the encampment, he produced a Token. The Centurion on duty dared not delay and immediately ordered his men to move the barricades aside, clearing a path for him.
The horse galloped straight through the camp, finally pulling up outside the command tent.
Hearing the hoofbeats, Xiao Heng and the generals eating inside the tent all frowned.
’Logically, both the Xirong Wolf Soldiers and the Dayong Border Army should be depleted from the last battle. Both sides are currently redeploying their forces, so nothing major should be happening.’
’So why is this Scout in such a rush?’
Just as they were all wondering, Qi’s voice rang out from outside the tent.
"Report! After the Wolf Rider Captain captured Moya Mountain, a Xirong force of ten thousand Wolf Riders arrived and has laid siege to the mountain."
By the time he finished speaking, Qi was already kneeling on one knee at the entrance to the tent.
Xiao Heng’s brow furrowed, and the other generals put down their chopsticks. The Seventh Prince, however, simply held a cup of wine, twirling it in his right hand with an amused smirk on his face.
’Although I don’t care about Lu Yuan, Xiao Heng’s attitude toward him these last couple of days has been rather irritating.’
’This time, facing an attack from ten thousand men... he’s probably going to die on Moya Mountain.’
Standing behind the Seventh Prince, a flicker of joy flashed across Zhao Yu’s face before vanishing.
’Every one of Lu Yuan’s military achievements is a personal humiliation.’
’Especially since the Seventh Prince chose me and Zhang Zhe over him. It’s even more reason to want him dead. If he performs too well, the Prince will inevitably start comparing us to him.’
