Chapter 2650: Running For Time.

The decree that the god of fate made took effect immediately. Golden words rose from the Book of Fate and flew to catch up to the god of travelers.

The god of travelers had activated foresight, so he knew what would happen if the golden word met him. He knew that he would be forced to tell the god of fate what had happened in this timeline, and he also knew that he could avoid the golden words if he wanted.

But even though he didn’t like that the god of fate was taking advantage of him, he still let the golden words meet him and bind him. This was because the decree would also help him, and because he knew without a doubt that he would need that help soon.

The source of unease first appeared in his vision of the future through the Foresight divine ability. But even though he could see it, the enemy was too powerful to avoid.

Legion was in the Mindscape when they felt the terrible force descend on them and tried to drag them back. The terrible force latched onto them like a vice and even managed to drag them. But this only continued for a second.

They had already become immune to the power of the god of fate, so they shouldn’t have been affected by the power of time reversal at all. Unfortunately, the power dragging them this time was different because the god of fate was helping the god of travelers.

The power of time reversal was much stronger than the one they experienced in the previous timeline, which was why they were still affected by it. But after a second, their existence rearranged itself and became immune to the new and improved power of time reversal.

While the world became a river and flowed backward, they stayed in place like a mountain in the middle of a lake. They were unaffected by the Power of time reversal. Unfortunately, their power was too strong this time around.

Their great power made the god of travelers notice them. The god of travelers had to notice them because even though they were behind him, their existence was like a mountain blocking his way. After all, not only are they a high god, but they are also nearly 75 times stronger than a normal god.

In fact, their power was so great that other gods were able to notice them. Legion had truly become the mountain in the lack and stood out above the water, so every fish in the water that was being swept away by it only needed to raise their heads to see Legion.

This time, Legion wasn’t avoiding the reversal of time as they had before. This time, their whole existence had become a large anchor that was stopping the reversal of time from proceeding.

They could feel that they had become a chain binding and pulling the god of travelers back. This was something that they couldn’t stop doing because they were simply too strong.

Their existence was too strong and too heavy to stay out of the reversal of time, so unless the god of travelers got rid of them, he wouldn’t be able to reverse time. This was why the god of travelers had stopped moving forward despite the wholehearted help of the god of fate.

The god of travelers saw it in his future, but he still couldn’t stop it from happening. As soon as the great force from the god of telepathy shook off his power of time reversal, his movement slowed down to a crawl while his speed dropped to zero.

It was as if he were stuck in amber. The resistance he was experiencing made him move at a speed that would be embarrassing to a snail.

He didn’t like this situation at all. But no matter how he tried to move forward or how the power of the god of fate was drained to boost his speed, he remained stagnant and couldn’t move forward.

He heard the god of telepathy say behind him, “There shall be no reversal of time this time around. Not unless you work for me.”

Before it could happen, he saw a black tide made out of black worms surge from the god of telepathy, taint the world, and rush towards him. It was a vision, but his scalp tingled just looking at it.

The god of fate didn’t see this fate, but she sensed that the god of travelers was in danger. So she shouted to the god of merchants, “Help him. He is our only chance. The god of telepathy wants to enslave all of us.”

She also shouted to every high god, “The god of telepathy wants to enslave us. This is our last chance to fight for freedom. Help the god of travelers however you can.”

Just as she finished speaking, a black tide made of fat black worms erupted out of the body of the god of telepathy and began drowning everything around them. Whatever the fat worms touched, they tainted black. This black area became independent from the world, so the force of time reversal couldn’t affect the area anymore.

The black area was spreading from the god of telepathy in every direction, so he looked like a black star that was growing and consuming the world. The worst part is that the black tide was rushing towards the stagnant god of travelers.

The black fat worms always infected whatever power they touched and would always trace it back to its source. This was how Legion was infected by the Authority of slavery the first time they touched it with their virtual body, and why the god of travelers was being targeted by the black tide.

This is all the work of the Virus ultimate ability. This insidious ultimate ability had infected the surrounding first because the force of time reversal had saturated the world. Now, the goal of the Virus ultimate ability is to convert the god of travelers into a puppet.
