Chapter 2544: Outer Bodies.

The fusion with the Mindscape is something that only the god of telepathy has to go through. But the creation of outer bodies is something that every god with more than three souls can create.

Outer bodies are layers of existence formed by divine energy. One outer body will be created for each extra soul above the three needed to uphold the foundation.

These outer bodies can be used as shells around the god. The shells have to be destroyed before the true body of the god can be harmed. This will drastically increase the difficulty of killing a god.

Each outer body has the same amount of durability as the true body of the god. So a god with 9 extra souls, like Legion, will have to be killed 9 times before their true body can be harmed.

The outer bodies can also be used as avatars. They can be sent to do the bidding of a god in their place. But the power of the avatar will be weak, as it will only be at the godling rank. Using the outer body as an avatar will reduce the number of shells that they can have around their true body.

Legion is a new god, but they knew about all of these thanks to the generous assistance of the god of dreams. But even without that generous inheritance of memories, they were quick to notice that all of these benefits came at a cost.

The main cost of becoming a god is that their other pathways were suppressed again. They can still use the divine abilities of their other pathways, but they can’t switch to any other divine body.

They can’t switch their god body to that of a godling, as that would require them to fall in rank. They can’t stop being a god unless they die, so the only way they can switch their divine body is if they are switching to another divine body at the level of a god.

So, they are essentially stuck with the divine body of the pathway of telepathy for now. This won’t change until they become a god in another pathway.

Another consequence of this advancement is that it became impossible for them to split their existence into clones with the divine abilities of the pathway of slavery. After all, without the divine body of the pathway of slavery, it is impossible to use their rank 9 Web of Control divine ability.

So, even though they can still use the divine abilities of other pathways, they can’t actually make use of divine abilities that need their divine body to function.

They didn’t mind these restrictions because it was only a matter of time before they could break them. After all, they had three more authorities that they needed to fuse with.

At this time, the virtual copy in the dream realm was fusing with the Seed of Dreams. So they made the virtual copy bring the Seed of Dreams to them in the Mindscape.

They tried to absorb the Seed of Dreams into their existence, and it worked. The large, fluffy white ball entered their body and began revolving above the three souls in the pathway of telepathy together with the Mind Palace.

With this done, they can rest assured that no one will take the Seed of Dreams from them. However, they won’t be able to assimilate it now, no matter how they try.

In their original plan, they will first become the gods of their four pathways before they dabble in the divine authority of the adjacent pathways. But even if they disregard this plan and try to fuse with the Seed of Dreams now, they won’t be able to because there is a force blocking them from fusing with it.

They can tell where the force is coming from, so they know that the source of this blockade is the story created and circulated by the god of illusion about how they have to meet him and fight him before they fuse with the Seed of Dreams.

The power of the force is very strong. But the worst part is that the force is only partially affecting them. Most of the power of the force is acting on the Seed of Dreams.

The force acting on the Seed of Dreams is like a shackle preventing the Seed of Dreams from fusing with them. So even if they can find a way to bypass the force on them, which is something they can do, they can’t do anything about the Seed of Dreams being unable to fuse with anyone.

This means that they will have to destroy the source of the force before they can fuse with the Seed of Dreams. So even though they are very strong and can ignore most of the impact of the story on themselves, they still have to fight the god of illusion if they want to fuse with the Seed of Dreams.

Even with the memories of the god of dreams, they don’t know if the arrangement of the force blocking the Seed of Dreams from fusing was done intentionally by the god of dreams or if it was done simply because the story found the best way to force them to fight the god of illusion so that it would come to pass.

But through are not worried. After all, they are in the Mindscape now. Unless someone can enter the Mindscape, no one can threaten them. But they can threaten other people outside the Mindscape without having to leave it.

With this kind of power, their confidence soared.

Legion-1 asked the others, “So what next?”

As one of the souls in charge of the pathway of telepathy, Legion-7 said the one thing that he thought was the most important thing to do. He said, “We have to eliminate every person who can enter or affect the Mindscape. That means that every legendary telepath has to die.”

Legion-3, a soul in charge of the pathway of killing, said, “Agreed. But I think we should take things further. Why stop at the level or legendary telepaths?”
