Chapter 2488: Quest For Undying.

One can imagine that fighting a godling or the soul of a god will be more difficult than convincing some angels to help them. This is why they chose to go around looking for the angels of history and the angels of knowledge first.

Fortunately, while the angels of history are smart enough to hide themselves after learning of the many past events of cocky angels being killed, the angels of knowledge don’t hide their location.

In fact, anyone with a modicum of knowledge of the world of tenebrum can guess where the angels of knowledge can be found. Legion has a lot of knowledge, so they can also guess with some certainty that angels of knowledge can be found in the organization known as the White Tower.

The organization called the White Tower, or the Tower of Knowledge, are the producers and sellers of arrays. The godclads in this organization belong to the pathway of knowledge.

The godclads of the pathway of knowledge, or mages or knowledge seekers as they like to be called, like to pursue knowledge at all costs.

They like knowledge so much that they can risk losing their minds to invoke the power of their god and gain more knowledge through the god of their pathway. And those who become angels of knowledge are some of the most knowledgeable people in existence.

The angels of knowledge were the first to become godlings because they were the first to learn about invoking the authority of their pathway to get knowledge and divine fragments from it.

So if there is someone who knows how Legion can get divine fragments from the authority of their pathway, it would be the angels of knowledge. Since they are so easy to find, Legion decided to look for them first.

While they were at it, they also decided to ask about the location of the Authority of the pathway of slavery. It is the only authority out of their four pathways that they have no idea where it is located.

No one that they’ve consumed knows where this authority is. Not even the angel of slavery that they killed and devoured her mind knows where this authority is.

If they know where to find the authority of the pathway of slavery and can acquire it, they won’t need to use any ritual to invoke and coax it to give them divine fragment. They can just steal the divine fragment after fusing with the authority of the pathway.

While this was happening, Legion-7, Legion-8, and Legion-9 went to find angels of undying. They are doing this in order to kill the first angels of undying that they find and get the rank of divine flesh from them.

This mission will be more difficult than the mission to help Legion become godlings because angels of undying like to hide their existence, are difficult to find through any means due to their Aegis Shield shielding them, and are very difficult to kill.

Fortunately, they have consumed the minds of many people and joined the minds of many telepaths with theirs through the Gestalt divine ability, so they have access to a lot of information and know where an angel of undying might be.

They are looking for that angel of undying right now. Once they find her, they will gang up on her and kill her.

As for Legion-10, Legion-11, and Legion-12, now that they’ve become angels of telepathy, acquired the authority of their pathway, and are already fusing with the authority, they have become free enough to help Legion increase the quality and quantity of slaves that they have.

This job should have been done by Legion-4, Legion-5, and Legion-6 because they are in charge of the pathway of slavery.

It should be the job of slave masters to recruit more and better slaves, but those three are on a quest trying to get in touch with angels of knowledge. So it became the job of the three clones of the pathway of telepathy to recruit slaves.

They have different tasks and many goals that they want to achieve with those tasks. And despite the difficulties they have encountered, they are making progress.

It can be said that Legion is making a lot of progress. They are very happy about this, but the soul of the god of killing is not happy about it at all.

He can’t sense their situation like he used to be able to do when they had his divine flesh attached to their body. He has not been able to sense anything about them since they removed his divine flesh and defeated him to subdue it.

But when they became angels of killing and began to use his divine flesh to resonate with the Ocean of Blood, he knew it, and he was shocked.

He was so shocked that he asked him, “Isn’t this the same slaver who subdued my divine flesh? Why do they feel like an angel of killing too?”

At first, he couldn’t believe what he was sensing. But no matter how he checked, the peak power of the pathway of killing had become very clear to him.

He could also feel an attractive and tempting force from Legion. This temptation confirmed to him that, without a doubt, Legion was the perfect vessel for him to possess.

The goal of godclads is to transform from weak and useless nameless beings into a divine figure. That divine figure is the progenitor of the pathway.

As godclads advance through the pathway, they transform into the progenitor of the pathway. They do this in order to acquire the power of that progenitor, but this transformation also comes at the cost of literally becoming the progenitor.

The transformation into the progenitor is the source of the risk of madness. But while madness can be starved off for a while, the transformation of body and life energy into a state identical to that of the progenitor is unstoppable. After all, this is the goal of assimilating divine flesh.
