GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2331: Ironic Behavior.

Chapter 2331: Ironic Behavior.

The cooperation agreement between the two gangs meant that it would be more difficult for the Golden Hammer gang to fall. Many people wanted the opposite, so they tried to break off the agreement.

Many gang leaders went to meet the leader of the Light Temple gang to convince her to drop the cooperation agreement with the Golden Hammer.

But she refused, claiming that she couldn’t since they had already sworn on the matter and because she didn’t want to continue to live in fear of the Golden Hammer gang.

What she did was not suspicious at all. In fact, her acceptance of the deal was reasonable, and many of the gang leaders would have taken the deal if they were in her place.

The Light Temple gang had been on edge ever since they became neighbors with the Golden Hammer gang. They have had to hire a lot more manpower, which has led to an increase in the wages that needed to be paid.

So the Light Temple gang has been suffering emotional, mental, and financial stress because of the Golden Hammer gang. If there is a way to avoid this stress, it is reasonable to take it.

No one had the right to blame the Light Temple gang for backing down from antagonizing the Golden Hammer gang. After all, no one could understand what it meant to be in her place, living next to a behemoth that could eat her any day.

But no matter how reasonable it was to take the truce, the gang leaders still tried to convince her to do otherwise. The most vocal of them was Black Axe. He tried to convince her like his life depended on it.

They claimed that the Golden Hammer gang was unlikely to survive the beast tide and that all the Light Temple gang needed to do to win was be patient and wait for them to fall.

But the leader of the Light Temple gang wasn’t so sure that the Golden Hammer gang would fall, and she wasn’t willing to take any chances, so she remained adamant about her decision.

What became ironic was that the neighbor of the Golden Hammer gang on the other side offered the Golden Hammer gang a truce and cooperation agreement after hearing the announcement of the cooperation between the Golden Hammer gang and the Light Temple gang, but his offer was rejected by the Golden Hammer gang.

The leader of the Ice Men gang offered the deal because he realized that if the Golden Hammer gang and the Light Temple gang form a truce, he and his gang will become the sole recipient of the expansion aggression of the Golden Hammer gang in the future.

He didn’t want to be the sole target. So he tried to form a truce with the Golden Hammer gang too. Unfortunately, he was rejected.

The rejection of the Ice Men’s offer of a truce further reinforced the stubbornness of the leader of the Light Temple gang. She was unwilling to give up her truce even more now that she knew that there was another person who was willing to offer the Golden Hammer gang the truce if she backed out of it.

Even the gang leaders who had invested in her and were disappointed to hear about her truce agreement had to give up now. It was already reasonable for the Light Temple gang to accept the truce before. Now it has become unreasonable and stupid to give it up after someone else offered the same thing.

Now, no matter what they thought about the truce, they couldn’t blame the Light Temple gang for it. They also couldn’t blame their leader for the death of so many rank 3 godclads.

Legion watched all of these happen with mild amusement. They were especially intrigued by the offer of truce from the Ice Men gang.

They didn’t enslave the leader of the Ice Meng gang because they didn’t care for the pathway he was in. So the offer of truce from the Ice Men gang was the only real truce agreement that was brought up, but they had rejected it.

They rejected the real offer because they already had the help of the Light Temple gang and because they wanted to give their enemies a tool that could be used against them.

Now that they were confirmed to be at loggerheads with the Ice Men gang, all of their enemies will go over to them and help them resist the Golden Hammer gang. This way, Legion will find it easier to monitor their plans against the Golden Hammer gang.

They didn’t really need the truce and cooperation between them and the Light Temple gang to make the Light Temple gang help the Golden Hammer gang defend their territory. After all, the leader of the Light Temple gang had already been enslaved by them.

The truce was just to offer a reasonable explanation for why the Light Temple gang will be helping them. The truce will also offer an explanation as to why the Golden Hammer gang doesn’t target the Light Temple gang in the future.

The second explanation is not as important as the first one, though. It will be nice that they don’t have to destroy their properties in order to put up a show of aggression between the Light Temple gang and the Golden Hammer gang.

A fight between the two gangs will only be harming Legion, which is something they don’t want. But what’s really important right now is being able to defend their territories against the beast tide.

The gang leaders were right to think that the Golden Hammer gang was in a pickle in the matter of defending such a large territory. The main conundrum being that they don’t want to showcase what they are truly capable of.

Legion is sure that they can defend their territory from the beast tide if they go all out and they don’t believe that they will have to act personally in order to achieve this.
