Chapter 2285: Preparation For Slave Advancement.

A person must have at least three souls in order to have one pathway. If they don’t have at least three souls, they can never become godclads.

So it is already lucky that their slaves were able to become godclads. It will be more difficult for them to have the six souls needed to have two pathways or the nine souls required to have three pathways.

Even before they undertook the task, they already knew that many of their slaves would die. Five of the current nine slaves that they have don’t have six souls and can’t have two pathways. This means that they will have to be replaced.

Of the four that meet the requirements for two pathways, it is likely that half of them will die during the assimilation process. This is the bad news.

The good news is that one of their slaves, the Fate Weaver, has nine souls and can have three pathways. It is unlikely that she will be able to survive the process of acquiring three pathways, but Legion is at least glad that they have the opportunity to have a slave with three pathways.

Besides their greed, they thought that it would be easier to create a slave with two pathways than to enslave someone like Sir Kris of the Edwin family. So they decided to go ahead with it.

Their plan is a massive undertaking. In order to achieve their goal as fast as possible and with as little effort as possible, they decided to make some preparations that will maximize their efficiency.

The first thing they decided to do was see to the advancement of their other pathways. They especially wanted their pathway of telepathy to advance because the new divine ability will be useful in helping their slaves assimilate divine flesh and advance.

Fortunately, there was nothing standing in the way of their advancement on the pathway of the telepath. Actually, nothing was standing in the way of the advancement of the three remaining pathways still at rank 4.

It has been two months since the pathway of killing advanced to rank 5. During that time, they got the water of life they needed to advance the pathway of undying from rank 4 to rank 5 and also met the advancement requirements of the other pathways.

The water of life was acquired from the secret stash of the dead rank 5 undying that helped Rack invade their territory. This undying godclad also helped them find the possible location of a spring of life. So they are very grateful for his invasion and subsequent death.

They had already acquired the water of life a little after they became rank 5 killers. So the remaining two months of time were spent meeting the advancement requirements of the pathway of slavery and the pathway of telepathy.

As for enslaving a telepath, it is possible, but it will be very difficult. Realistically, it is nearly impossible to enslave a conscious telepath.

So at the very least, they have to be much stronger than the telepath, and the telepath must be too weak to resist for there to be any chance of success in enslaving the telepath.

There is a slim chance of succeeding in enslaving a telepath because telepaths can destroy their mark of slavery. But it is possible, and the option has the least repercussions, so they were inclined to it.

What’s more, they already have a viable target in the form of Gerald. They know where to find Gerald and know that he is rank 4, so they have a good chance of success.

But before they could go ahead with Gerald, they came across a proud noble that had lost the support of his family. This noble was Cedric, Celine’s elder brother.

Actually, even if they didn’t need to enslave a noble in order to meet the advancement requirements for the pathway of slavery, they would still have gone after Cedric because he was their enemy.
