Chapter 2224 - 2224: Blood Weapons.
Actually, he had three undying divine artifacts on him and had activated all of them. The three of them bestowed the Aegis Shield, Reflector, and Armor divine abilities on him. That made six divine artifacts that he was using at the same time.
The reason the remaining two undying divine artifacts failed to do anything was because they were reliant on Aegis Shield to work. Since Aegis failed to block the attack, they couldn’t do anything to help Mirlo.
The failure of the defense isn’t entirely the fault of the Aegis Shield. The Aegis shield divine ability is powerful, but without enough spiritual energy it couldn’t stop four Severs powered by four tentacles strong enough to break a house with raw strength.
This is the fourth advantage of the Blood Limbs. They amplify the attacks with raw physical strength.
The blood limbs are very strong apart from the fact that they give a Killer many arms to attack with, a ranged attacking potential, and arms that can drain the life of the enemy.
All of these four advantages combined with four Sever were just too much for one Aegis Shield to hear without spiritual energy. Mirlo’s spiritual energy was drained instantly by the combined attack of many mental spikes and four tentacle powered Sever.
So the first Aegis Shield broke instantly and the Blood Limbs began to wreak havoc. Then Thieving Hammer pulled Mirlo towards him while approaching him and stole his Power of Wealth divine ability.
The theft robbed Mirlo of his greatest source of power. One might even say that it was his only source of power.
After Mirlo lost his rank 4 divine ability, his fate was sealed. He was already doomed when the bloody tentacles touched him. But at that point, someone could have interfered in the fight and saved him.
But now that he lost his power, even if Thieving Hammer had to back off his attacks, there was no way Mirlo could escape. Mirlo had also lost the power of his body, so he was quickly turned to mush by the bloody tentacles.
By the time the bloody tentacles were done with Mirlo, they had become longer and bigger. The strength that they could display had far outpaced the strength that Thieving Hammer could provide.
When Legion-1 saw this, he was impressed. He said, “These are weapons, not limbs.”
Legion-2 said to the others, “These are just right for killing someone so hell-bent on living.”
He said to ease the atmosphere of pressure that they felt when Mirlo kept coming up with one defensive artifact after the other.
They can recognize now that there was no way a single person could have killed Mirlo. They also recognize that the only reason that they managed to kill him was because he ran out of spiritual energy.
They came to these two conclusions because Mirlo was very powerful on his own, yet he had at least six defensive divine artifacts to protect his mind and body. He was a bull clad in a tortoise shell, so it was highly unlikely that a single person could have killed him.
Even their slaves, who had the power of two pathways and the divine abilities from those two pathways, were unlikely to be able to kill Mirlo despite having the advantage of a surprise attack.
At the end of the day, it was because he was suffering a lot of attacks from two people, and his defensive artifacts require far more spiritual energy than normal.
The fight had lasted less than three seconds. In those three seconds, Mirlo had survived more than 20 attacks using six divine artifacts.
8 of those attacks came from Thieving Hammer in the form of 4 Sever and 4 Blood Limbs, while the remaining 12 attacks came from Black Hammer. Apparently, Black Hammer had been attacking his mind four times every second.
Divine Artifacts use more spiritual energy to operate compared to divine flesh that has been assimilated by a godclad. Mirlo had used six of them at the same time to defend against the 20 attacks. It was no wonder his 160 units of spiritual energy were drained in less than three seconds.
The two hammers separated after killing Mirlo. Black Hammer went about killing anyone that might resist the annexation of this territory by the Golden Hammer now that the leader of the gang is dead.
Thieving Hammer, on the other hand, began to do what he was best at. He was stealing everything valuable.
He was very good at stealing because he had the rank 1 divine ability called Thieving Hands and the rank 2 divine ability called Storehouse.
With Thieving Hands, anything he touched would automatically belong to him. It was a divine ability that strips the ownership of objects away and automatically turns the thief into the owner of the objects.
As for the Storehouse divine ability, it is an ability that allows thieves to teleport stolen objects to a safe and hidden location. This location is not a physical location attached to the world. It is an independent space, so it can’t be found.
The state of the Storehouse also means that anything placed in it can’t be found either. Once the Storehouse divine ability is used, the object will simply disappear. So even if a thief is caught, the things they stole can’t be easily retrieved.
Thieving Hammer used these two divine abilities to strip everything valuable in the room. As soon as he touched them, they disappeared, never to see the light of day without his permission.
The first thing he took were the divine artifacts on Mirlo. The second thing he stole was the vast amount of gold that came pouring out of Mirlo’s body now that he was dead.
Mirlo died so he didn’t need the gold that served as the foundation of his rank 4 divine ability. This made gold coins and other sorts of currencies pour out of him.
His smashed corpse became a spring for wealth. Money was gushing out of him like water.
