Chapter 437: The White Tiger Fang

The Rakshasa Holy Lord's expression was deeply unpleasant, while the Blood Spring Holy Lord slowly withdrew his gaze and turned to ask Cao Gaoshan, "What exactly does your young master need from us? What would it take for him to let us go?"

At those words, the Rakshasa Holy Lord and the Ghost Prison Holy Lord both turned their heads toward Cao Gaoshan as well, clearly sharing the same question on their minds.

"My young master has his own purposes. All you need to do is comply with his requirements."

Cao Gaoshan gave a slight shake of his head, offering no further explanation.

Having brought the three Yellow Spring Holy Lords back to the guesthouse and warned Ah Xiu and the others, he showed no interest whatsoever in inquiring into the grievances between the various parties. He simply sat down cross-legged, prepared to guard the Rakshasa Holy Lord and the other two as instructed by Li Musheng.

Ah Xiu and the Fifth Elder were both intelligent people, and naturally understood Cao Gaoshan's meaning. They immediately promised not to act against the Blood Spring Holy Lord and the other two, who had lost their martial cultivation.

The reason for this, beyond Li Musheng having saved their lives, was also the terrifying power Li Musheng, this hidden demon lord, had displayed in subduing all three Yellow Spring Holy Lords with a single move, all on his own.

If they truly moved against the Blood Spring Holy Lord and the other two whom Li Musheng wanted, they would likely die without even knowing how it happened.

Furthermore, the group shared a tacit understanding among themselves not to ask any questions whatsoever about Li Musheng, this demon lord in hiding.

The severely wounded blind man had also by now learned of the current situation and understood that he had escaped death at the Rakshasa Holy Lord's hands.

At the same time, he knew that all of this was thanks to Li Musheng.

"So it seems that crossing paths with that man on this trip was actually a stroke of remarkable fortune, surviving against all odds."

The blind man murmured quietly to himself. Now that his life-or-death crisis had been resolved, he had no intention of seeking help from anyone around him.

Instead, he pulled a healing pill from within his robes and swallowed it, finally settling down cross-legged to circulate his true qi and treat his wounds in peace.

The Rakshasa Holy Lord, not far away, watched all of this unfold with an extremely dark expression, but with his martial cultivation gone, he could not kill the man, and dared even less to defy Li Musheng's words.

"Endure for now. There will be opportunities later."

The Blood Spring Holy Lord spoke quietly. Though he understood the Rakshasa Holy Lord knew the stakes well enough, he still offered the reminder, to prevent him from acting rashly.

But just then, a sudden gust of wind blew past, and an enormous dark shape came bursting out of nowhere, charging straight at the Rakshasa Holy Lord.

The Rakshasa Holy Lord's expression changed sharply and he tried to dodge urgently to the side, but having lost his martial cultivation and left with only his tempered body to rely on, he was simply unable to evade it.

In the next instant, the Rakshasa Holy Lord was sent flying backward, slamming heavily into the ground.

A sharp, searing pain shot across his face. The Rakshasa Holy Lord, struggling to climb up from the ground, reached up to touch his face, only to find his hand coming away covered in blood.

At the same time, the Rakshasa Holy Lord, the Blood Spring Holy Lord, and the others finally got a clear look at the figure that had ambushed them, and to their shock, it was a bald-patched large black cat.

By now, having delivered a single swipe to the Rakshasa Holy Lord, the large black cat had landed and was advancing with leisurely steps, continuing toward him.

It looked at the bloody, torn marks its claws had left on the Rakshasa Holy Lord's face, its round green eyes brimming with the satisfaction of successful revenge.

The Rakshasa Holy Lord, meanwhile, was trembling with fury, rage burning through his entire body.

As a dignified Holy Lord of the Yellow Spring Tribe, to find himself humiliated by a mere cat now, how could he possibly accept this?

A person needs their face the way a tree needs its bark, and this bald-patched cat had now even marred his very visage. How was he supposed to maintain his standing within the Yellow Spring Tribe or the martial world after this?

"Where did this beast come from? You're courting death."

The Rakshasa Holy Lord, clutching his bleeding face, instinctively moved to strike the large black cat down before him.

He genuinely did not recognize the large black cat. Earlier, he had simply been hunting the blind man, and the large black cat had been caught up in the crossfire entirely through misfortune.

But very quickly, the Rakshasa Holy Lord suddenly came to his senses. Given his current circumstances, he was likely no match for this bald-patched cat at all.

Hearing the Rakshasa Holy Lord curse at it, the large black cat's eyes narrowed slightly. As it continued advancing toward him, an undisguised killing intent erupted from its body, as though it intended to scratch him to death in the next instant.

At the sight, a chill ran through the Rakshasa Holy Lord's heart, and he immediately turned to look at Cao Gaoshan nearby.

If he were to die today at the hands of a cat, not only would his reputation be utterly ruined, it would undeniably be an extraordinarily humiliating way to go.

"Ahem, ahem..."

At this point, Cao Gaoshan gave a quiet cough, clearly signaling to the large black cat to know when to stop, and not let things go as far as taking a life.

The large black cat, advancing toward the Rakshasa Holy Lord, did stop a short distance away, making no further move to actually kill him.

After all, it had seen everything that had just happened and naturally understood that the Rakshasa Holy Lord and the other two were people Li Musheng wanted. As for striking the man, that had simply been revenge for being made bald, a way to vent its frustration. It would never dare actually kill someone Li Musheng wanted.

"Meow."

At this point, the large black cat extended a paw and let out a cry at the Rakshasa Holy Lord, as though saying it would let him off this time, and that he should be careful going forward.

Even so, while the large black cat made no further move to claw the Rakshasa Holy Lord, it showed no intention of leaving immediately either. Instead, its cat eyes suddenly turned and settled on the Blood Spring Holy Lord among the three Holy Lords.

Faced with the large black cat's sudden, glowing green gaze, the Blood Spring Holy Lord felt a jolt of alarm.

The Rakshasa Holy Lord's wretched state was right there before his eyes, and Cao Gaoshan's attitude of turning a blind eye made it clear that this bald-patched cat's identity was likely no simple matter.

If the large black cat decided to give him a swipe just as it had with the Rakshasa Holy Lord, he would have no way to defend himself and would simply have to swallow the humiliation.

For a moment, the Blood Spring Holy Lord's expression turned extremely unpleasant. He naturally had no wish to end up in the same wretched state as the Rakshasa Holy Lord, but at that very moment, the large black cat walked straight toward him.

The Blood Spring Holy Lord dared not move rashly, only managing to raise a hand to protect his face as best he could.

At the sight, the blood-covered Rakshasa Holy Lord's eyelid twitched sharply. Had he shown the same caution the Blood Spring Holy Lord was displaying now, he would not have ended up disfigured by this bald-patched cat in the first place.

At this point, the large black cat, having now come right up before the Blood Spring Holy Lord, did not move to claw him directly. Instead, it circled around him once.

Just as the Blood Spring Holy Lord was beginning to feel puzzled, the large black cat suddenly leaped up, extended a paw, and reached directly into the Blood Spring Holy Lord's robes, pulling something out.

The object was a white jade fang, no larger than the palm of a hand. The large black cat held it up on its paw and began examining it with great interest.

At the same time, Ah Xiu, the Fifth Elder, and the others, witnessing this scene, all fixed their eyes intently on the jade fang in the large black cat's grasp, their gazes burning with intense longing.

It was clear that this was none other than the White Tiger Fang they had been so desperately hoping to retrieve from the Yellow Spring Tribe.

Just then, the Rakshasa Holy Lord, still clutching his bloodied face, suddenly furrowed his brow and said, "Isn't that the item Chuan'er brought back from Bianjiang City last time?"
