Great Li Martial God
Chapter 425: No Match
"So there's nothing left to discuss, then?"
Young Master Jinchuan fixed his eyes hard on the blind man behind him. The blind man gave a nod, "Of course. Your life, I'm taking it."
At those words, the expression in Young Master Jinchuan's eyes shifted faintly, but very quickly he seemed to relax instead, suddenly letting out a cold laugh, "And here I thought some great figure had taken an interest in me. Turns out it's just some meddlesome, blind fool who doesn't know his place."
As he said this, the corner of Young Master Jinchuan's mouth curled, and he even gave a provocative crook of his finger toward the blind man behind him, "I'll be honest with you. I personally wiped out that He family tavern. And that girl from the He family, tsk, she was quite the catch."
At this point, Young Master Jinchuan seemed to have completely lost any wariness or fear of the blind man, even bursting into mocking laughter.
But faced with Young Master Jinchuan's provocation, the blind man's scarred face remained entirely unmoved, and he said evenly, "I hope you can still laugh in a moment."
The moment his words fell, one of the Yellow Spring experts maintaining the formation suddenly let out a startled cry. From the corner of his eye, he found the blind man, ghostlike and untraceable as ever, had appeared silently right beside him.
"It's fine. With the Nine Star Yellow Spring Formation in place, he can't break through our defense."
One of the Heaven-Human experts nearby, seeing this, called out reassurance at once.
After the blind man had killed two of their number earlier without a sound, leaving everyone deeply unsettled, there was now an instinctive terror at his sudden appearance nearby. But fortunately, the Nine Star Yellow Spring Formation, jointly deployed by the assembled Heaven-Human experts, was a powerful defensive formation recorded in the Yellow Spring Holy Scripture, one that even one of the Yellow Spring Tribe's Nine Great Guardians had been unable to break through before.
They were confident that relying on this formation to deal with the blind man should present no problem.
With that thought, the Heaven-Human expert who had turned to find the blind man right beside him felt himself instinctively relax slightly.
But just then, the blind man's hoarse voice drifted out lightly, "Are you sure?"
The moment the words fell, the blind man raised the blood-soaked bamboo staff in his hand and, through the seemingly impenetrable nine yellow spring rivers encircling everyone, pointed it directly at the Heaven-Human expert's forehead.
At the sight, the rest of the Heaven-Human experts all gave cold laughs, not believing for a moment that the blind man could actually break through the formation before them.
But in the very next instant, every one of them felt their pupils contract sharply.
With nothing more than a single point of his staff, the blind man had torn open a palm-sized hole in the supposedly impenetrable nine yellow spring rivers, with no warning whatsoever.
And when they looked at the Heaven-Human expert closest to the blind man, they found his face frozen in terror, with a bloody hole now in the center of his forehead.
"No good. Seal the breach immediately."
Watching the life drain from the expert as he fell powerlessly toward the street below, the remaining Yellow Spring experts felt a chill run down their spines and immediately moved to seal the gap in the Nine Star Yellow Spring Formation.
At the same time, the assembled experts struck out in unison with thunderous force, attacking the blind man in an attempt to drive him back.
But after the kill, the blind man simply vanished once more, and every attack found nothing but empty air.
"It's useless. How could a mere formation stop me?"
The blind man's voice came from nowhere, and when his figure reappeared, he was already beside another Heaven-Human expert, repeating what he had done before, piercing through the Nine Star Yellow Spring Formation with his staff and driving it straight through the man's skull.
Only then did the assembled Yellow Spring experts finally fall into true panic.
But the blind man showed no intention of stopping. From that point on, in less time than it takes to draw a single breath, he claimed the life of another Yellow Spring Heaven-Human expert, treating the formation the assembled experts had laid as though it were nothing at all.
Even so, the blind man continued to play with his prey like a cat toying with a mouse, never once making a move against Young Master Jinchuan himself, as though intending to let him slowly wait for death to arrive, utterly powerless to do anything about it.
At the same time, Ah Xiu and the large black cat had been trailing behind the blind man and the Yellow Spring group ever since the fighting began.
The large black cat was, of course, purely there to watch the show, and was thoroughly enjoying itself, running after the group of Heaven-Human experts with all four legs nearly smoking from the effort.
Watching a blind man unable to see kill an entire host of Heaven-Human experts who were fleeing in terror, it could not resist letting out occasional meows of admiration.
Of course, the large black cat had no interest in who among them was good or bad, or what grievances existed between them. It simply applauded and cheered for whoever was winning.
Ah Xiu, however, had other thoughts on her mind. Following along this entire chase, the blind man had clearly given her quite a surprise.
With him not only killing one of the Yellow Spring Tribe's guardians but also effortlessly breaking through the Nine Star Yellow Spring Formation, his strength had clearly far exceeded her expectations.
"I genuinely misjudged him this time. This man is far more capable than he lets on."
Ah Xiu felt a lingering chill. Earlier at the guesthouse, she had assumed that with herself and Li Musheng working together, standing against the blind man would not be a problem.
But now she realized that, given the strength the blind man was currently displaying, if he truly wanted to kill their entire group, it likely would not be very difficult for him at all.
"Even so, this actually works out as good news for me."
Thoughts turning, Ah Xiu glanced behind her at the large black cat following not far away.
For some reason, this cat had been sticking to her without letting up, and she suspected Li Musheng had deliberately sent it to keep watch on her.
"Quite the scheming type, but he's underestimating me. As if one large cat could possibly keep track of me."
Ah Xiu let out a cold laugh. Her figure, which had been leaping across rooftops, transformed into a series of afterimages and vanished in an instant.
But the large black cat, racing along on all four legs behind her, did not even spare a glance at Ah Xiu's disappearance, and continued chasing furiously after the blind man and his group ahead.
The terror of death the blind man brought with every kill, claiming a life every breath, had thrown the assembled Yellow Spring experts into a state of utter panic, causing them to flee even faster.
If the large black cat let its attention waver for even a moment right now, it would fall behind, and miss out on all the excitement.
So it had no spare thought to give to Ah Xiu at all.
Meanwhile, having "shaken off" the large black cat, Ah Xiu suddenly changed direction and headed toward a particular part of the Yellow Spring Market.
Before long, she arrived before a wooden building, and after a careful look around to confirm no one was following her, she slipped inside without a sound.
Once inside the wooden building, Ah Xiu made her way with practiced familiarity to a hidden mechanism, opened it, and passed through a concealed passage into a stone chamber.
There, the previously encountered withered, ugly-faced small figure and a group of hooded individuals, their faces impossible to make out, appeared to have already been waiting for some time.
