Chapter 486: Chapter 339: Breakthrough, Indestructible Spirit Vision
Her vision, blurred by tears, suddenly became incredibly clear.
At the same time, the entire world seemed to slow down.
The wind whistling past her ears, the distant whispers of the crowd, the stench wafting up from the sewer below...
A torrent of data flooded her mind, granting her a completely new perception of the world.
Magic Root!
In this state of extreme anguish, the Magic Root inside Song Ling’Er’s body—unremarkable and likely to have remained dormant her entire life—had suddenly awakened.
And a Magic Root related to marksmanship, no less.
Song Ling’Er’s heart gradually grew quiet.
No, ’quiet’ wasn’t the right word. It was deathly still!
She stared at the distant ruins. Even without binoculars, she could see everything with perfect clarity.
She was hoping for a miracle, but the massive scale of the ruins, like a giant tombstone, crushed all her hopes.
But just then, a stir of movement in one corner caught her eye.
Then, a massive slab of concrete was pushed aside, and a bloody hand stretched out from underneath.
Song Ling’Er held her breath.
But a second later, Qin Zhen, covered in blood and dust, crawled out.
He wasn’t dead!
But he had buried Big Brother Wu beneath the rubble.
A towering inferno of rage and hatred instantly consumed all her sorrow and despair.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Song Ling’Er snatched up the sniper rifle and pulled the trigger on the distant figure.
She didn’t need to aim.
Yet the bullet, as if obeying a command, instantly crossed the vast distance and shot unerringly toward its target.
Qin Zhen had just crawled from the ruins. Before he could even catch his breath, he felt a wave of mortal danger wash over him.
His expression changed drastically, and he instinctively tried to dodge.
But after a series of intense battles, combined with pushing his Dragon Elephant Prison-Suppression Body beyond its limits, he was already heavily injured. His Qi and Blood were severely depleted.
Moreover, the shot came from a difficult angle and at an astonishing speed.
Therefore, he only managed to avoid a fatal blow.
SQUELCH! The bullet tore violently into his left shoulder, sending a spray of blood into the air.
If his body hadn’t already become as tough as diamond, that shot alone would have been fatal.
Even so, the powerful impact sent him staggering, and he nearly collapsed.
Qin Zhen grunted, his already pale face draining of all color.
Clutching his bleeding shoulder, he snapped his head up, his gaze following the bullet’s trajectory back to its source.
Despite the immense distance, he quickly locked onto his target.
The abandoned office building.
’So there’s still one left!’ Killing intent flared in Qin Zhen’s eyes, and he charged forward without a second thought.
’Wu Liangchen is dead, but I can’t spare his accomplice. I must eliminate any loose ends.’
At this thought, Qin Zhen picked up his pace, dashing toward the office building at incredible speed.
Even with his Qi and Blood severely depleted, Qin Zhen’s foundation was so profound that he was still far beyond what any ordinary Martial Artist could hope to match.
On the rooftop, Song Ling’Er watched Qin Zhen charge toward her. Her expression was emotionless as she continued to pull the trigger.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
With each gunshot, Song Ling’Er became an emotionless firing machine, laying a path of ambush with bullets along Qin Zhen’s route.
But Qin Zhen was a Divine Sight Realm Martial Artist, after all. Despite his injuries, his combat instincts remained sharp.
Especially now that he was on guard, he would often have already moved by the time the gunshot even rang out.
Bullets peppered the ground around him, kicking up showers of gravel and dust, but none could find their mark.
In the blink of an eye, Qin Zhen reached the base of the office building.
He glanced up at the roof, a cold sneer forming on his lips. Then he leaped, his toes tapping lightly against the building’s facade as he ascended with impossible grace.
Upon landing on the roof, his gaze immediately locked onto the girl standing behind the sniper rifle, who was covered in blood.
She was now firing a pistol at him relentlessly.
But it was utterly useless.
Qin Zhen dodged every bullet with the slightest of movements, then sneered at the pale girl before him, blood still trickling from the corners of her mouth and nostrils.
"Who is Wu Liangchen to you?"
Song Ling’Er didn’t answer. She just tossed aside the pistol with its empty magazine, drew another, and resumed firing.
Qin Zhen’s brow furrowed. With a flick of his finger, he sent a pebble flying, knocking the gun from Song Ling’Er’s hand.
"Didn’t you hear me talking to you?"
Song Ling’Er raised her head and stared at Qin Zhen, her eyes burning with an all-consuming hatred.
Even the worldly and experienced Qin Zhen felt his heart skip a beat.
Her gaze was so crazed, it was as if she wanted to devour him whole, to grind his bones to dust.
Qin Zhen immediately changed his mind.
A moment ago, he’d planned on capturing the girl for interrogation. Now, he decided it was better to leave no loose ends.
’I have to pull up the weeds by the roots, and fast!’
"Since you refuse to speak, you can join him in death."
Murderous intent flashed in Qin Zhen’s eyes as he raised his functional right hand, aiming a palm strike directly at Song Ling’Er’s head.
If the strike landed, Song Ling’Er’s death would be certain.
Yet Song Ling’Er didn’t even try to dodge. Instead, a look of release washed over her face.
’It’s better this way. I’ll be able to join Big Brother Wu.’
With that thought, she closed her eyes.
But at that very moment, a blurry afterimage appeared behind Qin Zhen as if teleporting into existence.
Qin Zhen instantly felt an immense sense of crisis wash over him. He didn’t hesitate to turn and flee.
But all he saw was a fist.
The fist tore through the air with a piercing whistle, rapidly growing larger in his vision.
’Wu Liangchen?’
’How could that be? He’s not dead?’
The thought flashed through Qin Zhen’s mind. At the same time, his powerful combat instincts compelled him to raise his right hand to block the blow in the fraction of a second he had.
’In his mind, even if Wu Liangchen were still alive, he had to be a spent force.’
But he never imagined that the moment their fists made contact, an absolutely irresistible force would surge toward him.
CRACK! Qin Zhen’s right hand was shattered on impact, the jagged, white ends of the bone shards piercing through his flesh.
Agonizing pain caused his pupils to constrict, but before his body could even react, Wu Liangchen’s fist was upon him again.
This punch landed squarely on his chest.
BAM!
With a sickening thud, all of Qin Zhen’s ribs were shattered. He was sent flying backward like a discarded sack, violently coughing up blood in mid-air.
A sure sign his internal organs had been ruptured by the blow.
But Wu Liangchen’s assault wasn’t over.
He took a step, and the rooftop trembled, kicking up a cloud of dust.
Wu Liangchen used the force of that step to launch himself into the air, smashing a heavy punch down onto the airborne Qin Zhen.
"No—!" Qin Zhen let out a short, wretched scream. He had no strength left to fight back. All he could do was muster his remaining Qi and Blood, hoping to withstand Wu Liangchen’s blow.
BOOM!
Qin Zhen’s body convulsed, curling up like a shrimp dropped into boiling water.
Wu Liangchen’s fist had slammed into his lower abdomen, extinguishing all his life force.
But Wu Liangchen still wasn’t done with him. As his body fell, Wu Liangchen bent his knees and drove them upward in a brutal strike!
CRACK-CRACK-CRACK!
Amidst a series of explosive cracks, Qin Zhen’s spine shattered, and he went completely silent.
His body crashed to the floor.
Even so, thanks to the powerful life force of a Divine Sight Realm Martial Artist, Qin Zhen wasn’t quite dead. He stared weakly at Wu Liangchen, his eyes seemingly asking, ’Why?’
But Wu Liangchen had no intention of wasting words. A single kick crushed Qin Zhen’s head.
And so, the long-renowned Divine Sight Realm Martial Artist of Qing Province fell.
The night wind swept across the rooftop, carrying with it the distant stench of burnt flesh and blood.
Song Ling’Er stood frozen, staring at the blood-soaked man before her.
He... was still alive!
As that thought flashed through her mind, an overwhelming wave of joy surged through her, shattering all her composure.
Tears streamed down her face like pearls from a broken string.
Seeing this, Wu Liangchen’s heart warmed, and a small smile touched his lips.
"All right, mission complete."
The words had barely left his lips when Song Ling’Er threw herself at him, burying herself in his arms like a child and bursting into tears.
Wu Liangchen sighed softly and gently patted her back. "There, there, don’t cry. I’m all right, see?"
When he first saved Song Ling’Er, Wu Liangchen had acted purely out of sympathy. But after spending so much time together, he had come to see her as his own little sister.
So, seeing her cry so heartbreakingly made his own heart ache.
Still, the rewards from this battle were outstanding.
Wu Liangchen looked at the line of text that had materialized on a screen of light before him.
[Divine Sight (1%)]
He let out a long sigh of relief.
’So this is... the indestructibility of Divine Sight?’
