Chapter 428: Chapter 310: Judgment by Gunfire, A Flower from the Filth (Part 2)
But he didn’t dare remain silent, so he could only bite the bullet and say, "I... I usually live about three streets away."
"Good. Take me there now," Wu Liangchen commanded, then beckoned to the little girl in the corner.
The little girl quickly got up and came to his side.
"Let’s go!"
Wu Liangchen then led the little girl out, with Zhu Biao as their prisoner.
Once outside, they saw that the little girl’s father had woken up and was crawling away with all his might.
But with both his legs shattered, he didn’t have much strength left.
He left a shocking trail of blood on the street but had failed to crawl even twenty meters.
When he heard the footsteps behind him, the man clearly panicked, his crawling speed picking up significantly.
Wu Liangchen stopped and turned to the little girl who was clutching the corner of his clothes, following closely behind him.
"Do you want to kill him?"
The little girl froze, then saw the serious expression on Wu Liangchen’s face.
"I..." She managed to force out a single word.
Just then, her father struggled to turn around. With tears and snot streaming down his face, he cried out to the little girl, "Xiaoling, Daddy was wrong! I’m not human! Please, give Daddy a chance. Spare me! I promise, from now on... "
Wu Liangchen waited in silence.
He wanted to see what choice the girl would make when faced with this situation.
Her decision would also determine her fate.
If her heart softened and she couldn’t bring herself to do it, then after everything was settled, Wu Liangchen would give her some money, leave, and let her fend for herself.
’As the saying goes, you make your own fate.’
’If you’re so quick to forgive someone who hurt you, then there’s no reason for an outsider to stick their neck out for you.’
Meanwhile, upon hearing her father’s desperate pleas, the girl named Xiaoling fell silent.
Seeing this, a flicker of disappointment appeared in Wu Liangchen’s eyes.
’Looks like I was overthinking things.’
In truth, Wu Liangchen had returned for a couple of reasons. First, he currently had nowhere better to go.
Until his Qi and Blood were fully restored, Wu Liangchen had no intention of confronting the Tiger Slayer Gang head-on.
This made the shantytown, built atop a mountain of garbage, his best hiding spot.
But that wasn’t the main reason. More importantly, Wu Liangchen had been moved by the sight of this little girl holding a moldy bun, her eyes still burning with a fierce desire to live.
He wanted to help her.
’It was like helping his former self.’
’But it seemed this little girl...’
Just then, Xiaoling suddenly looked up, her eyes brimming with unshed tears, and asked in a trembling voice, "I want to kill him myself. Can I?"
Wu Liangchen was momentarily taken aback, but then he broke into a smile.
"Of course you can. Here," Wu Liangchen said, handing the gun to Xiaoling. "This is for you. This is the trigger. Just aim it at his head and pull."
Zhu Biao felt a wave of relief, but it was immediately replaced by the cold press of a dagger against his lower back.
"Don’t move," Wu Liangchen said coolly. "Or your kidney will be saying goodbye to you in the next second."
Zhu Biao shuddered and nodded frantically. "I won’t move, I won’t move! You have my word, I absolutely will not move!"
Meanwhile, Xiaoling walked up to the man, pistol in hand.
The man was shaking from head to toe in terror. "Xiaoling, Daddy was wrong! I promise I’ll never do it again! Please, I’m begging you... "
But Xiaoling didn’t hesitate for a moment. She raised her hand and pressed the muzzle of the gun directly against the man’s forehead.
"Don’t bother begging me. You’re not my father!"
With that, she pulled the trigger.
The pistol was the work of a master craftsman, specially designed in every aspect to minimize recoil.
Even she could handle it with ease.
The instant she pulled the trigger, the firing pin struck the primer, and the bullet screamed forth.
BANG!
The man’s head exploded like a rotten watermelon. His headless corpse collapsed to the ground and began to twitch violently.
It was merely the work of lingering nerve responses, but the sight was terrifying.
Yet Xiaoling showed no fear at all, pulling the trigger on the man’s corpse several more times in succession.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Gunshots roared and blood sprayed through the air.
At that moment, Wu Liangchen reached out and grabbed Xiaoling’s wrist.
"That’s enough. He’s already dead."
Only then did Xiaoling, her face pale, let go of the gun. Like a child who had done something wrong, she lowered her head and said nothing.
Wu Liangchen smiled. "You did very well. But remember this for the future: a person like that isn’t worth wasting bullets on. Understand?"
Xiaoling nodded emphatically.
"Let’s go," Wu Liangchen said.
Only after the three of them had left the street did the local residents cautiously poke their heads out.
They then saw the deep crater in the street blasted by the bullets.
As for the man’s body, it had been blown to pieces, scattered everywhere and completely unrecognizable.
"Tsk, tsk. If you ask me, that Yang the Third got what he deserved," one person sneered. "Beating and cursing his own daughter all day. This is what you call karma."
"Who did this? They’re incredible," another person exclaimed, having seen the corpses with shattered heads inside the house.
"How should I know? They can’t be far. Why don’t you go ask them?" someone else retorted with a cold smile.
Though a lot of people had died, it was nothing special for the garbage district, where death was a daily occurrence.
They wouldn’t even have to dispose of the bodies. When night fell, the packs of stray dogs would clean everything up.
And so, the incident passed quickly, like a stone dropped into a pond. After the ripples faded, everything returned to calm.
Meanwhile, Wu Liangchen marched Zhu Biao to his residence.
It was a relatively tidy two-story building. Though its exterior was still filthy, it was a vast improvement over the crumbling shacks nearby.
With trembling hands, Zhu Biao undid the combination lock, opened the door, and led Wu Liangchen and the girl inside.
The furnishings inside were far from luxurious, but it had all the standard appliances. It even boasted the luxury of an old-model housekeeping robot.
In this garbage district, that was considered top-of-the-line.
"S-Sir, these are all my savings. I swear I haven’t hidden a thing. Please, just let me go this one time," Zhu Biao pleaded, opening a safe and pulling out all its contents.
Wu Liangchen didn’t even glance at the items. "I don’t want your money."
"Then what do you want?" Zhu Biao asked, startled. A sudden thought struck him, and he looked at Wu Liangchen in terror.
’I’ve heard that top assassins all have... strange quirks.’
’Could it be... he’s interested in me?’
’Yeah, that has to be it. Why else would he go to all the trouble of bringing me back here?’
At this thought, Zhu Biao’s face turned green.
’Do I really have to sell my ass to survive?’
Just then, Wu Liangchen said, "Let’s go check the kitchen."
Zhu Biao grew even more terrified.
’He’s into some kinky stuff, huh!’
But he didn’t dare refuse, so he could only bite the bullet and lead Wu Liangchen to the kitchen.
When the freezer was opened, Wu Liangchen’s eyes lit up.
It was packed to the brim with all sorts of ingredients, mostly meat.
’Looks like my luck is holding out!’
"You. Turn around," Wu Liangchen said coolly.
Zhu Biao’s heart pounded, but desperate to live, he finally gritted his teeth and shakily turned around.
At that exact moment, Wu Liangchen snatched a towel from the table with one hand, a dagger in the other, and plunged the blade into Zhu Biao’s back, aiming for the heart.
SQUELCH!
Zhu Biao, who had been steeling himself for prostitution, went rigid. He tried to turn his head.
But Wu Liangchen violently twisted his wrist. The blade spun savagely within Zhu Biao’s chest cavity, utterly shredding his heart.
Blood gushed forth, but Wu Liangchen used the towel to stanch the wound, preventing it from spilling.
"Wh... why?" Zhu Biao managed with his last ounce of strength.
"No reason. You just deserved to die."
With that, Wu Liangchen dragged Zhu Biao’s corpse to the bathroom, dumped it in the tub, and only then pulled out the knife.
Blood gushed out, carrying Zhu Biao’s life away with it.
After finishing his work, Wu Liangchen stepped out of the bathroom and smiled at the girl in the living room.
"Xiaoling, what would you like to eat?"
Xiaoling was silent for a moment. Then, she looked up, her gaze fixed intently on Wu Liangchen.
"Big Brother, my name is Song Ling’Er!"
