Chapter 426: Chapter 309: Astonishing Appetite, Dusk Blood Feast (3)

But this also filled him with a gnawing sense of insecurity. After all, as he got older, there was no guarantee that someone younger and more ruthless wouldn’t come along to challenge his authority.

So, just to be safe, he planned to save up for body modification.

That way, he could not only cement his status but also extend his life—a perfect solution with multiple benefits.

Just as Zhu Biao was planning for the future, one of his henchmen spoke up, his voice dripping with sycophantic praise.

"Master Biao, that little girl’s house is just ahead. We’re almost there!"

Zhu Biao snapped out of his reverie and looked up. Ahead was a cluster of shacks that looked dilapidated even for the slums.

The people who lived here were the lowest of the low, even by the standards of the garbage district.

The thought of that little girl made Zhu Biao’s heart stir with lust, and he quickened his pace.

As he and his entourage entered the area, the pedestrians on the street scattered as if fleeing the plague. The more timid ones immediately ran home, slamming their doors heavily behind them.

It couldn’t be helped.

One look at Zhu Biao and his men, and you knew they weren’t to be trifled with.

And the people here, who eked out a living on leftover scraps at the edge of the garbage heaps, certainly couldn’t afford to cross them.

Soon, they arrived in front of a crooked, ramshackle hovel.

Right then, a man inside was cursing loudly.

"Worthless bitch! You ran around all day and didn’t even earn a single cent, yet you still have the nerve to come back? Just wait, I’ll beat you to death!"

His voice was slurred, as if he were still drunk.

"The one cursing is the little girl’s father. The guy’s drunk all day and doesn’t lift a finger," the henchman explained.

Zhu Biao sneered and gave one of his subordinates a meaningful look.

One of them immediately stepped forward and kicked the door in. The loud crash brought the cursing inside to an abrupt halt, and then Zhu Biao strode inside.

It was dark inside, and the air was thick with the stench of plastic.

He knew this was a method people in the garbage district used when they couldn’t afford alcohol.

They would roast a certain type of salvaged plastic over a fire and inhale the fumes, which produced a sensation similar to being drunk.

Of course, the stuff was also extremely damaging to one’s health.

Sure enough, a man with puffy eyes staggered unsteadily to his feet.

"Who... who are you people?"

Zhu Biao, however, didn’t even spare the man a glance. His eyes instantly locked onto the little girl cowering in the corner, and a look of sheer greed spread across his face.

"Tell him who I am, give him the stuff, and tell him to get lost," Zhu Biao said coolly.

The henchman immediately stepped forward. "This is our Master Biao. He’s taken a fancy to your daughter. Here’s a jug of wine. Take it and scram. Don’t ruin the Master’s good time!"

A jug of wine was tossed over. The man scrambled to catch it, then nodded repeatedly, his face alight with manic excitement.

"Thank you, Master Biao! Thank you, Master Biao! This little bitch is all yours now. I’ll scram, I promise I won’t get in the way of your fun."

With that, he turned and ran outside without the slightest hesitation.

Just then, the girl let out a wail of despair, leaped to her feet, and bolted for the door.

But she was too small and weak. Even with the rare full meal she’d eaten that day, how could she possibly be a match for a group of grown men?

And so, she had barely taken a few steps before Zhu Biao snatched her up.

Then, with a leering grin, he cackled, "Little girl, didn’t you hear? Your father already sold you to me. You’re mine now. Where do you think you’re running?"

At the same time, his men retreated with a tacit understanding.

But just then, the gloating Zhu Biao suddenly let out a pained scream.

It turned out the girl had caught him off guard and sunk her teeth into his arm.

But even though it hurt, he didn’t let go. Instead, the pain only enraged him.

"You little bitch! You wanna do this the hard way, huh? I’ll fucking kill you!"

As he spoke, Zhu Biao raised his hand to slap the girl.

The girl had already accepted her fate. Years of beatings had taught her not to close her eyes. Instead, she stared coldly at the creature in the distance she called a father, her own eyes filled with hatred.

’I never should have come back.’

’If I’d known this would happen, I would have been better off sleeping in the dangerous wilds than here.’

’But now, it’s too late for anything.’

The air whistled as his hand swung toward her. But just then, a gunshot rang out from outside. A moment later, the girl felt something hot splash across her face, a spray of warm liquid.

Zhu Biao froze as well, because he had just realized his hand was gone.

Staring at the bare stump of his wrist, Zhu Biao felt no pain at first. Only after a moment did he suddenly begin to scream.

"AHHHHHHHHHH!"

His scream was as piercing as those of the girls he had tormented, perhaps even more so.
