Chapter 371: Chapter 277: Borrowing the Power of the Vajra Statue

Wu Liangchen smiled.

"Cleanse me of my sins..."

"I think it’s you bald donkeys who need to wake up."

The words had barely left his lips when Wu Liangchen vanished. The long-browed old monk had silently appeared behind him and launched an attack.

When his palm strike missed, the long-browed old monk let out a soft gasp of surprise, clearly not expecting Wu Liangchen to be so fast.

But he was a seasoned veteran, after all, so his reaction was lightning-fast. He made his decision in an instant.

But as fast as he was, Wu Liangchen was faster.

Just as the long-browed old monk’s figure flickered, preparing to retreat, Wu Liangchen’s fist arrived.

The fist was incredibly fast, carrying an incomparably ferocious power as it shot straight for the old monk’s face.

Before the fist even landed, the sheer force of its approach sent the old monk’s two long eyebrows whipping about.

Watching the rapidly approaching fist, the old monk’s pupils contracted in an instant. But he didn’t retreat. Instead, he raised his own fist to meet the blow.

BOOM!

Following the massive boom, the resulting shockwave shattered the green flagstones on the ground.

Immediately after, the long-browed old monk was seen staggering backward. With every step he took, he crushed a flagstone underfoot, his feet sinking deep into the ground.

It was not until a dozen steps later that he managed to regain his footing, his expression utterly grim.

After trying to suppress it a few times, he opened his mouth and spat out a large mouthful of fresh blood, his aura rapidly diminishing.

The few onlookers watching from the side erupted into a commotion at the sight.

Meanwhile, Wu Liangchen landed lightly on the ground, his expression cold as he looked at Cilian.

"Still want to fight?"

Cilian, however, paid no mind to his disciple being beaten to the point of vomiting blood. Instead, he couldn’t help but clap and let out a soft sigh.

"What fine fist techniques, what a fine realm. If I’m not mistaken, you have already transcended the Fourth Realm and reached a height no predecessor has ever achieved."

Wu Liangchen didn’t say a word. He simply raised his fist and charged.

Sometimes, no amount of words is as useful as a single, satisfying punch.

The edge of his fist cut through the air, letting out a sharp whistling sound.

But Cilian’s smile never faltered. He just stood there, waiting quietly.

Only when the fist was right upon him did he take a sharp breath, then sidestep slightly, effortlessly dodging Wu Liangchen’s punch.

Though his punch missed, Wu Liangchen didn’t hesitate. He immediately drew his saber with his other hand and slashed at Cilian.

But in the next instant, Cilian vanished as well. A leisurely sigh then echoed from above.

"Honestly, I truly don’t want to harm you. After all, you are the first being to transcend the Fourth Realm purely through your own efforts. That alone is a testament to your value."

Wu Liangchen snapped his gaze upward to see that Cilian had, at some point, appeared atop the head of the Wrathful Vajra statue. He stood with his hands clasped behind his back, looking down at Wu Liangchen with an expression of pity.

Without hesitation, Wu Liangchen bent his knees slightly, then shot upward like a cannonball, bringing his saber down on Cilian.

"What a pity..." Cilian sighed, as if he truly was reluctant to fight Wu Liangchen, his voice full of appreciation for a rare talent.

But in the next instant, he extended a hand and gently pressed downward.

His hands were long and fair, almost like a woman’s.

But when this seemingly weak and powerless palm descended, it unleashed an incomparably terrifying might.

The immense pressure directly batted aside Wu Liangchen’s slash, and even the sturdy saber’s blade emitted a cringe-inducing groan under the strain.

Under the dual force of the palm’s might and his own gravitational potential energy, Wu Liangchen’s body fell uncontrollably.

At the same time, the long-browed old monk—the same one who had just been beaten until he vomited blood—had already charged over silently, launching a sneak attack at Wu Liangchen’s back.

But Wu Liangchen paid him no mind at all, because just then, Cilian also made his move.

After knocking Wu Liangchen down with one palm, Cilian suddenly dove, his right hand formed into a sword finger, aiming straight for the space between Wu Liangchen’s eyebrows.

Though it was just two fingers, their tips glinted with a dangerous, metallic luster that was dazzling to behold.

Moreover, his entire thrust was silent, not even stirring the air. But it was precisely this seemingly effortless move that made Wu Liangchen’s expression turn incredibly grave.

In the nick of time, Wu Liangchen violently raised his hands, using both palms to shield the spot between his eyebrows.

Furthermore, his hands, arms, and his entire upper body were suffused with a golden light.

Although the long-browed old monk had launched his sneak attack first, it was Cilian’s sword finger that arrived first.

A piercing screech of metal on metal rang out, followed by a massive shockwave that erupted outward.

The golden light on Wu Liangchen’s palms and arms rippled like waves, and his body was forced backward uncontrollably by the immense pressure.

Just then, the long-browed old monk arrived. But the moment his palms touched Wu Liangchen’s back, he was sent flying by the sudden, immense force of Wu Liangchen’s retreat.

This time was even worse; both of his arms were shattered by the impact.

But at this point, no one cared about his condition. All eyes were focused on Wu Liangchen and Cilian, who were now locked in a stalemate.

Abruptly, their hands separated. Wu Liangchen retreated several steps, then steadied himself.

Looking at his palms, a deep wound was now visible in each, yet no blood flowed from them—a horrifying sight.

Cilian, in contrast, was far more composed, even wearing a faint smile on his face.
